New ds is exposing weak survivors
We are now seeing an expose of low skill survivors that were being carried by a crutch perk.
Dead by daylight is a game of either stealth evading the killer or looping the killer effectively. If you are good at those 2 things and play the game as it was meant to be played, then you don't need to use Ds in the manner it was used.
Most of the survivors complaining now arent very skilful and would get off on the fact that the killer couldn't keep track of how long ago they downed them and they got a free getaway and wasted The Killers time leading to a win they didn't really deserve.

What exactly did they do to DS? I've never used it I do Self-Care, Adrenaline, Tenacity and I bounce between Kindred, Leader, Prove Thyself, or Urban Evasion so what did they do exactly to it that made people mad??

Now it deactivates instead of lasting 60 seconds if people heal do generators or unhook. Basically if you tell the game I'm not being tunnelled, that says OK so you don't need this anymore

They changed the perk so that it deactivates if you perform basic interaction like touching a gen, a totem, or heal someone/yourself.

This just facts. So many survivors were carried by DS and now they're getting exposed. The only people complaining about the DS nerf are these bad survivors.

And the ones who can't abuse the mechanics to bully the killers anymore. I sure don't mind these people anymore now.. If they save their DS for 60 seconds to bully me instead of doing objectives, that's 60 seconds of them being useful to their team gone down the drain.

OP is absolutely right. I'm a pretty piss poor killer and I've been dumpstering on people. I'm seeing more games with no BT, no DS, unsafe saves, terrible attempts at protection hits. Suicide on hooks, disconnects, you name it. Just take the absolute dredges of the survivor population and I'm seeing them in droves.
I have seen two SWF's that were still very good, but the Randoms have definitely taken a turn for the worse.

but you also realize there's a difference between solo queue and and survival friends though like survivor friends are going to be more coordinated because they have communication as their advantage as to where to solo cues they have no communication they barely know what people are doing and trust me I've been up against solo queues where people can get things done but you know some days you just have those bad games you know can't seem to break that street

Half the complaints about DS seem to be that they don't get a free ride anymore because other survivors aren't bringing the perk to create an obsession.

Exactly. I am bad at looping. So I use stealth. If I get seen my objective is to try to lose a Killer in a tile and use my Fixated perk to exit away without scratch marks.

I've seen it said in a few of those DS whining threads.. No obsession = the killer knows no one brought DS.. I know I never bring it and I don't care if there's no obsession in the match.. Even with an obsession I get tunneled sometimes, but more often than not the killers I've been getting lately played fair.

Nah, people are pissed now that the anti-tunneling perk for changed (for the better mind you), it's opened the can of worms that is that as much as Survivors loved to abuse DS... Killers love to abuse tunneling and camping. Killers see there is no obsession and now know they are free to tunnel and make anyone's match a complete miserable experience on a whim.

Seems about the same to me. People used it because it was strong in a lot of situations. It’s now stronger in less hence why less people use it

Maybe so I dont know. I have never ran DS so I never relied on it but man have solo survivor games sucked in the past few days. So much DC'ing and rage quitting it makes me play less because I watch my pips go away and rank go down for crap that others do.

I don't use DS, but I lol'd at the "playing stealthy" part. How many killer mains have been giving stealthy survivors crap for playing stealthy? How many of them spoke how unfair and unfun it is? How many of them described how much pleasure they had slugging and mori'ing survivors who used stealth? IIRC, someone phrased it "stop hiding and start dying".
But no, only survivors are entitled.

Yeah, this happened after the first time ds was changed too. I think (but don't know for sure) there is a streamer or other influencer who is convincing players that if they dc enough it will force the devs to rethink the nerf. If it follows the pattern it did last time, it should be "safe" to solo queue in a week or so after the worst whiners have gotten it out of their system and actually want to try to win matches again.

I've noticed that in the DS nerf bad posts they said you hope on a gen and the killer comes and call it "tunneling". But, with the upcoming Mid-Chapter they should definitely work on the other anti-tunnel perks. Buffing Off the Record and Babysitter. And change BT to proximity.

My only complaint is that people stopped using it, so now I have to run it so that my teammates don't get tunneled by overzealous killers. I'd much rather run a different perk, because I have Dead Hard -- which most of the time gets me far away enough from a tunneling killer that DS would never proc even if the killer is tunneling.

More people should really consider Dead Hard. It's not billed as anti-tunnel, but it certainly helps!

I'm not convinced the devs actually come here for balancing information. I know, I've been called or insinuated as being a killer main biased player like 3 times today, so I should be all hateful towards it, but honestly I think DH is fine. I doubt it will get the ds treatment any time soon. I could be wrong, but even so it definitely works now, and that's all we can really play with.
BT needs to be changed, but that change needs to be activation on distance from killer, rather than just Terror Radius

Yeah pretty much thats what DS was really about. Finishing gens in front of killers then getting hit with it after downing that same survivor. There was no counter play all they told you to do was "slug or take the ds" which could hurted your pressure on the game. I never thought it was a good perk but you sure could exploit it.
