What's this? Another farewell post? Should the 'Bye then' crew be on standby? Well not quite.

DBD has always been a love/hate relationship, but I stuck with it for the sole reason I enjoy horror. That was the only think that kept me with it for so long. If the game was based on another genre, I would of been gone a long time ago.

To put it in prespective: I was going to go casual and not do any more rift passes after the current pass. I was at level 66 of the pass and I honestly could not be bothered playing up to level 70, despite probably having the time to do so. I just unlocked the last few tiers.

The main causes for this are the abhorrent behaviour by players and the game's various balance issues. I'm not a huge fan of online PvP but DBD is just something else.

I think at least a break is needed.

    I highly recommend NMS. It's a very relaxed experience, with a community that is (for the most part) supportive.

    Do what's best for you, and what makes you happy. DBD tends to become nothing more than a chore honestly, and we all know it can be even better than what it is currently. I honestly have tried to quit the game, but I'm just so conflicted unfortunately. So I think I'll be stuck with DBD until the game dies, but breaks are always gonna be a thing for me.

    If you have/make friends, it's good. Otherwise, you're unlikely to find any players outside the Anomaly (MP hub) and very specific areas that large, coordinated groups of players "colonized".

    Some players do report bugs seemingly associated with MP, but I've never experienced them myself. My guess is they're exploiting it in some way (or use mods).

    HG also added a new mode that's similar to a Battle Pass, where you start a new save and accomplish a number of goals over two months (more than enough time, trust me) to unlock stuff for all your saves (the ones you have now and the ones you might create in the future). It's not predatory, many people report accomplishing all the goals in around 20 hours, which you can definitely do in two months.

    EDIT: If you decide to try it, let me know. The guy I usually play with isn't interested, and I get the feeling the game would bore my BF to tears.
