A lot of this community is awful
While I really disagreed with Ayruns statement on killer/survivor exploits and kinda hate him as a person in general just cause of his personality but is sending death threats really nessacery. Like jesus let a man have an opinion on a game without getting ######### death threats. I disagree with him but holy ######### this community needs to chill. Why does it always go straight to harassment.

Why do people care is the real question?
Personally I think it’s funny when someone gets so mad they spew salt on my steam profile. Especially since many games I have the chat off so they get that pissed by in game actions alone.
13 -
How exactly does one person being an ######### automatically make the whole community bad?
14 -
Is this on twitter?
Cause i can see why...
Twitter is a literal Cesspool of a toxic waste,
10 -
Cause this is like one example this ######### seems to be constantly happening. I always see people send verbal abuse in chat the discord when I was in it was a complete ######### mess of racism and homophobia. Like every DBD platform I go to there is always someone or some group of people being awful people.
1 -
I really don’t see that much toxicity. I see entitlement but there’s a huge difference between that and toxicity.
7 -
Because to some people, being told to ######### kill themselves is a pretty disheartening thing to hear.
11 -
This is true.
10 -
They clearly haven’t played any FPSs / MOBAs ever and have played DBD as their only competitive online game then.
On Xbox you actually get smack talk over a mic instead of some salty endgame text messages.
1 -
Awful games breed awful communities and are made by awful developers.
Makes sense to me. : )
3 -
Yeah because one community is bad it's now excusable to tell people to off themselves!
Next up you'll be advocating for the use of slurs because they've been used in old COD lobbies- great idea!
To quote myself from an earlier post to you, "You seem like a right ray of sunshine."
10 -
Anyone can say whatever they want to me online and it rolls off my back. I've worked customer service, I've moderated toxic game forums. I'm a lifelong cynic. It's pretty difficult for some rando on the internet to say anything that's going to legitimately upset me, and death threats are the most amusing attempts of all.
THAT SAID, it still shouldn't be happening. Anyone who gets their underoos so soiled over a video game that they have to tell the other person to die or kill themselves or threaten to do the actual killing is a developmentally disabled manchild. On top of that there ARE emotionally sensitive people out there who take such words to heart, it's not like people haven't followed through with the suggestions of others to take their own lives. There should always be a no-tolerance policy on kill talk.

Can't wait for the edgy teen to come in this thread just to say "Grow up lol."
11 -
Im saying it’s a part of online gaming and if you can’t handle it here, you can’t handle it anywhere.
Maybe someone who takes it to heart isn’t suited for competitive games and should try civilization (on single player)
3 -
Y'know, if a genie offered me three wishes, my first would be to make you a nicer person.
"It's a part of online gamin-" No. It's never right to tell someone to kill themselves, nor is it ever right to use a slur, and if you think like that you're part of the problem.
14 -
"THIS COMMUNITY IS AWFUL"
Have a good day:(
3 -
It's not part of online gaming and it never was from the start. People ignore it and don't address it which is why toxic mindsets still exist. That's why you're mentality is "It's part of online gaming there's nothing you can do."
8 -
I've always gotten douchebag vibes from him tbh.
0 -
Should they be bothered by people saying it no. Should the people saying it be punished when they're threatening their lives yes.
0 -
Agreed. The only problem is that there isn't much you can do about it.
For example: yesterday, someone told me that I should kill myself and burn alive because I main Freddy. It definitely wasn't pleasant to read that, but what can I do? I reported them, of course, but if they don't get banned my report was literally useless.
This kind of toxicity needs to stop.
6 -
Pfft... I wonder if they said that knowing Freddy was already burnt alive.
In all seriousness, sorry you had to deal with that #########.
1 -
Yeah, I wonder...
No worries, my friend. In the end, it was nothing more than a salty player. But, it is bad to read something like this, you know?
Not to mention how pathetic the situation is. I mean, what kind of person insults someone because of their favourite character?
1 -
This community CAN be awful.
I won't disagree that there are a lot of toxic people around here that say terrible things to other players.
As @GeneralV already said.Your options to stop them is usually very limited unfortunatly.
But please don't forget that there are also a lot of good people here too.
2 -
Well, I suppose fanbois aren't really rational. They just follow their idol and can almost die for him xD. Yeh, for me it's more ridiculous than sad, but I feel sorry for you that you had to go through this. Just report them and block, you can't do more than this.
Take care!

I think that the reddit community for dead by daylight has the word for hate. The next day I got -15 karma because over one post. You think that's awful? it is to me.
0 -
Yeah I should really edit it to be MOST
1 -
Actually getting salt is so fun to me, that my whole profile is built into baiting them to comment and tilting people as much as possible.
For now, I have 10 pages of comments.

I always say community are heavily killer sided, You can talk S*** things about survivors and you will get all the views and likes, say 1 thing bad about killers you will get death threats.
1 -
Negative interactions are unfortunately more memorable.
No one remembers 4 people saying "GG" at the end chat or at least it is unmemorable.
1 -
A while ago there was a person sending people the trans slur in DMs on the DBD discord, people reported it and they did nothing.
Yet people got banned for calling victor a baby. Priorities I guess.
0 -
It doesn't.
But this is an insensitive & selfish first question given the alleged nature of abuse received.
0 -
Nah I was just joshing, don't worry😊
1 -
Yeah no it is kinda unfair to say it since I have also found so amazing nice and wholsome people in the community.
1 -
I got banned because I continued a copypasta chain. Yet there was somebody who called some race "people"(this was a month or two ago but it was turkish IIRC) who just got a warn. I did not add those quotation marks they literally refered to them as people with quotation marks.
1 -
That sounds like the DBD discord mods lol, they have no issue banning people instantly for posting a video in the wrong section, but take 30 minutes to kick someone spamming slurs in the chat.
1 -
DBD's a very frustrating game at it's core unfortunately, it gets to everyone at one point or another. As much as I'm not a fan of Ayrun's content, getting death threats over something like that is really ridiculous. A bit of trash talk should be expected when you put your opinion on the internet but not to that extent
I feel if you don't take breaks with this game you will start to become jaded and resentful about it. It's most noticable in big content creators but I've been there myself, around the time Twins came out I was very disappointed with how the game was going and ended up stopping for a while.
I'm in a similiar spot now after All-kill.

Welcome to Online Gaming. People have been doing this for years. Nothing can change unless people want to change. Making a statement about ALL instead of a few is just a good way to not make me feel remorse for you.
1 -
Some people are clowns, it's just that simple.
And while I don't agree with exactly what he said in the clip in question (which he himself admitted was a bad take), what he's talking about is very much a very scrubby thing some people do. Blaming players in situations where the blame should be on the game if anything. But that's not a survivor/killer thing, not even a DBD thing, that's just a "some people that play games" thing.
0 -
Agreed, some folk are bad apples. Others though are total sweethearts.
0 -
Easy, you get a lot of bad people.
0 -
Yeah, it's pretty terrible.
0 -
It just depends on who you come across.
0 -
It can also be a very dangerous and damaging thing to say.
There are some out there vulnerable enough to follow through.
