Obsession DCs with Save the Best for Last
So I was playing a game of Myers with Save the Best for Last and I heard an Adam hide in a locker after saving someone. He was my obsession and so I took him out thinking, "Nice, I'm keeping my stacks because of this." He DC'd on hook and I thought, "Even better, I can't lose my stacks now!" However, I didn't gain any stacks throughout the match after that and simply kept the ones I already had (I didn't even really notice a difference in my cooldown since I only had two and couldn't gain any more). So here's my question: If the obsession DC's on death hook, do they effectively disable my ability to use stbfl and if so, why?

Yes. There isn't a particular reason for it, my guess is it's tied to the fact the perk disables when the survivor is dead to discourage you from outright killing the obsession (obsession perks typically make you want to keep the obsession around as long as possible). And since a disconnect marks the survivor effectively as "Dead", it disables the perk.
Not too big of a deal in most cases. If nothing else, the fact he disconnected saved you time and did you a favor anyway.

Because a Survivor DCing counts as them dying.
- When the Obsession is sacrificed or killed, you can neither gain nor lose any more Tokens.

At least I have a permanent 6 stacks of STBFL.

Thanks. And yeah, him disconnecting really outweighed any use I would've gotten out of stbfl.

If a survivor DCs while you run STBFL, you can have permanent stacks of STBFL so you can use that to your advantage.

Basically once the obsession is no longer in the game you cant gain or lose stacks. This is good if you have lots of stacks, and bad if you have only a couple stacks. If you only have a couple stacks left you can try to tunnel survivors of hook to force a decisive strike to get a new obsession in the game.
