What happened to Mad Grit?

For starters I love running Agi and Iron with Mad Grit for chill killer games. Originally from the killers POV and from what I can recall it always looked perfectly fine when I was a survivor (the weapon always visually swung properly).

Then however many patches ago it became bugged and often the weapon won’t appear to swing or a consecutive attack attempt won’t happen at all (the latter of the two is possibly an input problem on the killers end but I never used to experience this issue)

The other problem I’ve encountered was the survivor wiggling free after a successful hit before the full 4 seconds intended pause.

I just finished a match with a trapper running iron grasp with mad grit (didn’t realize until after the match) but I was able to kite him to a further hook and I took a hit literally underneath that hook in your typical body block position. Kate was still on his shoulder wiggling when I tanked it but somehow managed to still break free maybe a second or so after I hit the floor. It could have been a latency issue or whatever but it definitely felt like that Trapper got robbed of that hook especially since he had mad grit, smacked me, and the hook was right under his nose. I’d be more inclined to say it was 100% latency, lag, or luck but based on the issues I’ve had with MG I’m genuinely leaning towards the pause possibly being iffy too sometimes along with the wonky swing animations that never used to exist with the perks functionality.. at least from my experience with it earlier on.

I've used Mad Grit for similar Trapper basement builds. Its been working as intended for me.

    Two things I notice though:

-It does pause the wiggle timer for 4 secs, but it takes about 2 .5 secs to recover from a successful hit.

-You can override their wiggle noise and grunts of pain if you swing rapid fire with Mad Grit. It may seem like they stopped wiggling, but they likely didn't.

In your scenario, perhaps someone had Break Out?

You’re definitely right about cooldown time after a successful hit and the survivor looking and sound as if they aren’t struggling when we swing.

The pause after landing a hit isn’t a huge deal for me because when I use the combo legitimately (not spamming at all) it’s a nice little added insurance if someone takes a hit or happen to whiff and not having MG would mean you absolutely won’t make it to a hook.

Mainly it’s those moments when I’m messing around by attempting to play a loop with either a backpack or an active struggler... If I catch them in the open unaware of the fact I have the full combo it’s goofy and satisfying to machine gun it a bit while you’re starting get all up on their butt lol. I can definitely slow the interval between swings but still there are times where a hit will even land but the weapon wasn’t moving.

ScottJund had a pretty good example of what I mean when I was playing a Myers.. the infamous “Scott actually got spun my a Quentin” stream lol

Bonus: one of the most bizarre sights to see is a Pyramid Head running MG with that massive knife going wild hahaa

If you click to fast you wont see your weapon at all from the killers POV
