Racism And Hateful Speech

in General Discussions

so i just finished a match as a nurse killing all survivors and at the end game i was getting insulted and harassed for being a jew. is there any punishment for those kind of players who are racist and insulting others for their religion? i can provide a video recording of that if needed.

    Any type of abuse is reportable, doesn't matter what kind. Abuse period is not tolerated. Just report them and let the team handle them.

    Edit: @not_Queen made it clear in yesterday's stream that abuse is not okay and to report it so the team can review and take further action.

    I thought another ACM said that screenshots were now inadmissable due to how easily they can be faked?

    We don't rely on screenshots alone, we do have other means of checking things - hence the screenshots/video are just for additional evidence and the in game report is a requirement.

    If screenshots aren't necessary at all for post-game chat, that would certainly be a welcome buff.

    If it happens in after-match chat, just make sure to report it through the finale screen there as it stamps the text and logs it for the team to review. They're not dodging that bullet.

    Yes there is, send an ingame report and if you have footage, send it additionally to the support

    Report them in game and then send a video/screenshot to the devs. 

    It is really sad to know that people are being racist like this. Is it really that big of a deal if your opponent is a Jew? No, it isn’t.

    That is horrible. I am so sorry that they said those things to you. This is the problem with most the community, they won't show respect to others. I honestly feel so sorry for you. You just outplayed them and they're being so rude to you. Report them and hopefully they all get banned asap since that is just not right.

    Correct.

    Also, the line is when it goes from typical trash talking to excessive insults. We wouldn't ban for the examples you listed. Either when they just don't stop throwing insults out there, or when they take it too far (racist comments, threats, etc.) Basically if you're ever unsure and you feel like someone's going too far, you can report them and we'll take a look.

    Correct.

    I usually get insults after most of my game (probably most of you as well) and most of the time i am just ignoring but being racist, i cant accept that. i will report them as well in the help center. i hope players be more respectful to their teammates/killers/survivors. after all it is just a game and we all wanna have fun. thanks everyone that took a part of this discussion and thanks Peanits.

    Please do not create a support ticket for chat related offenses. While we'll happily deal with them and while we appreciate the reports, we have sufficient evidence through the in-game reports, so creating a support ticket is usually going to cause us to check the same report twice.

    I'm so sorry to hear that. That's one of the worst parts of this community, some people just show no respect to others and they forget their playing with other human beings. I used to get told to kms after playing a match. Seriously why do people say that? Suicide isn't something to tell someone and joke around with! That's when I disabled my messages, I cannot accept that, so now only my friends can send me chats. Unfortunately some take the time to send a friend request with hate mail attached to it. Anyways as others have said just report them and the team should take care of it.

    Report them in-game and then you can submit an additional player report to support with screenshots/video

    For something that happens in the chat, no. All the details we need are stored in the in-game report. Those support tickets are only necessary for things that require additional evidence.

    That's honestly horrible. If that isn't a perm ban, idk what is. I'm aware that talking trash normally results in a 24 hour to 1 week ban (I think, not sure tho), but this has got to be a 2 week absolute minimum.

    Same story for me, playin as a nurse and get cursed and harassed for nothing.
