Do you think you belong in red ranks?

I think I belong in purple. At times I do very well with my chases and other times I do horrible. As survivor I have a tendency to run to dead zones. Which is why I'm starting to run Windows of Opportunity.

Hmm,i would say about High Purple Rank would fit for me as both killer and survivor.

I got a lot of knowledge on both sides and know how to play them pretty well.

My only big weakness is that i'm pretty inconsistent.

Like one game i'm able to get one great play after another but next game i'm doing so many stupid mistakes that i'm wondering how i'm not back to rank 20 yet.

Yeah, I stopped playing for a month or 2 due to some frustrations and so my rank naturally fell, I went back to green ranks and it was bad, like 4k'ing while doing nothing but moving backwards the whole game bad. Even when I got back to purple ranks it was still pretty consistent 4ks, it wasnt till I started going up against red ranks again that got some kind of challenge, sometimes, since you know even when I got back to red ranks I would still sometimes get as low as yellow ranks so you know.

I belong in purple ranks, but I've been hard stuck in red ranks for 2+ years. Unless I get tunneled & camped 10 games in a row in not leaving anytime soon.

Don't have lightborn on most of my killers unfortunately.

Before the rank reset I was rank 2 and honestly I don't know how to loop to save my life (at least I don't believe I know how to loop) so I was very surprised that I got that far up the ranks.

Yes. While I dont think theres much skill in survivor and it's more based on knowledge than actual skillful aspects I personally know all maps, tiles, loops and how to run them, I know totem spawns and every perk so I'm able to judge and adapt to what they have. I enjoy versing all killers and dont think any are op, alot I find pretty weak. I'm optimal and efficient and dont rely on perks to help me as a survivor. I know pallet saves, flashlight saves and honestly not sure what else I can learn in the game, kinda the reason I'm annoyed we haven't had a map in ages

The simple answer for myself is no.

The not so simple answer is I don't enjoy the game in red ranks.

I'm not a competitive player, I rarely make "meta" builds, or min max in games or even really care about ranking myself against others. This isn't e-sports for me but it is for many others and most of those guys are in purp/red ranks.

I like immersive play, powering through the gens and then smashing my way out the gate is really not that fun. Sweating to stop a team from powering through the gens and smashing out the gate while they flashlight click, butt dance and try to prolong chases inching every scrap out of hit boxes, tiles and perks also isn't that fun.

I like it when I'm scared of the killer as survivor and when the survivors are scared of me as killer. That's what the theme of this game is about but only every one in ten games is like that, less so in red ranks.

Red ranks is meta and its bland, its rinse and repeat play and its always the same. Its a bit like that board game where all the players have figured out the "I win" strategy, so everyone goes for it and the person who gets it first always wins. You eventually get bored of the game and move on because its stale.

This game is stale at red ranks.

This game shines at low ranks because people make mistakes, are afraid of the killer, run non-meta builds that can catch you off guard and generally is more casually fun to play.

There must be a lot of high rank killers floating in the greens because some of the best killers I've played against turn out to be green or even yellow rank and they are rarely smug or crappy about it post game. There is a benevolence at low ranks because people aren't lording it over each other, they just seem to be playing. Higher ranks in DBD can be a toxic quagmire that I just don't encounter that often in the more casual lows.

Also I'm not that good, but I've been playing for long enough to catapult myself into the reds if I go for the kills/escapes and then its just not that fun. Because that's what rank represents, not skill but time spent online. Many people don't realize this probably because their ego won't allow them to.

I'd love there to be AI to play against so I wouldn't have to search for games against other people who aren't taking it so seriously or have their validation of self worth tied to the outcome of a video game. This is supposed to be fun but can be unbelievably unpleasant, particularly in the red ranks.

So you either throw games every now and then to stay low or you get high up and then quit till reset. If I have a couple of good games (and I don't mean wins I mean fun immersive play with other people doing the same), then usually I call it a night, because I like to finish on a high note and they can be few and far between in this gaming community.

So no I don't belong in the reds because I think this game sucks in the reds, but its pure gold elsewhere.

Nope, I want to stay in purple ranks forever why? Perks have variety there and not everyone running META perks green yellow and brown ranks all run free and the survivor's teachable perks and in red ranks people run META perks in purple it's a mix
