People leaving the game
Hello.
I started playing dbd recently, only got 60 hours so far and im rank 14.
I started noticing people more and more often just leave the game, it happens every 5 games for sure.
They don't even exit during the loading screen or whatever, they wait to join, then leave the match. Leaving other 3 survivors having to do 5 gens, why not just leave before so we can do 4 gens instead? Makes more sense, but I think they're doing this on purpose? Why? They don't like specific killers or maps? Is this the reason to just rage quit?
I'd like to hear more opinions on this, if anyone else is experiencing this in higher ranks and what are your thoughts on this.
Also this didn't really happen when I was rank 20 & just started playing, as I'm climbing up the ranks it happens more and more often.
Thanks for reading!

Yeah, most players leave for no reason. It's annoying but they have started banning people for disconnecting

It's annoying, but the devs have automated systems in place to deal with this. After every ban wave, those very players come here to complain that they (or "a friend") got banned for disconnecting and try to make themselves out to be the good guys. It's hilarious.

Thats pathetic.

Ok - so as someone who uses this tactic more and more I can only speak for myself. I play exclusively survivor and it genuinely angers me when other survivors leave, too.
HOWEVER, I personally (and this could very well just be me) have experienced a huge increase in the amount of killers who facecamp or heavily patrol, with no good reason at all. Im talking 30 seconds into the match and someone is already hooked, or a killer running ######### ruin AND another hex totem and the killer is camping. Like #########?! You're faster, stronger, and have active things helping you directly inhibit gameplay and you still wanna camp?
Now, there isn't necessarily anything wrong with that, as that is a good way for the killer to ensure at least one survivor death or slow down the game, but it leaves the hooked survivor just trying to play a game with one option: death. And when this happens to survivors like myself game after game after game....c'mon now. What do you killers expect?
Killers who literally guard their hooked survivors undoubtedly stifle the gameplay that way, and so as survivors, since we are going to die anyways, might as well just leave! I proudly sacrifice ALL BPs, pips, items, and whatever else (cause its all useless anyways, I mean ain't no one paying my rent for me to be a rank 1 lol) if it means getting out of a ######### game and into a new one that might be more enjoyable. There is a difference between "Im mad cause Im bad at the game" versus "Im mad cause I cant play the game at all once found."
To me, Id rather actually get to play (even if I get killed in the end) than sit there while some dumbass leatherface stares at me looking up and down, physically blocking any help from coming. Again, yes that is a tactic, but no I and apparently others will not play with you if you play like that. Take your points and leave, and dont complain! ********You should be thanking us for giving you easy as ######### kill points********
So you're welcome.

So if you get hooked and camped, why dc and lost points, pip, and risk a ban instead of oh I dont know just DYING ON THE HOOK, and then finding the new game?Sfrei002 said:Ok - so as someone who uses this tactic more and more I can only speak for myself. Or if you werent first, maybe just do work for points and see what happens? 4 escapes arent always gonna happen, and your be surprised how many 5 gen 3 person games you can not only win, but dominate if you play a little smarter. It's not the end of the world.1 -

By DCing on the hook, you only reward that playstyle. Being camped sucks, but the longer you distract the killer, the better off the other survivors are.
