Okay keys are ridiculous
Killer is literally unplayable right now for me, i just made a post about this just earlier this week.
I have just had two matches today where three survivors got out with a key at 1 gen left in my face and the key wasnt even brought into the trial! No plunderers they just found it!
Its ridiculous i always dodge key lobbies but doesnt matter any more because they regularly find one anyway.
Anyway just a rant carry on, i know the devs already know about keys but i just cant wait for the nerf. It should just be a one survivor gets out situation, and it doesnt start EGC because that would still help the survivors.

As I have seen someone say it before and I agreed upon it is something along the:
"If key is usable for escape it means you are probably already streamrolling it so 1 key escape does not matter or you are going to lose anyways without key used."
But yeah, it is kinda poopy to just get rewarded escape like that, but what do I know?

I struggle against key more as a survivor than killer. I'm usually one of the 3-2 last survivors, and I can't found how many times my teammate/teammates have left me to die because they have a key. I probably have just as much hate against keys as killers. They're disgusting xd

When i bring a killer, i usually try to get out every one. But a lot of survivors decide to not follow me to the hatch because they think they know better, so if i get out then, they can blame theirself.

There’s definitely an issue. I’ve gotten rainbow maps and both the good keys. So many times.
I can’t remember the last time i got a brown medkit or toolbox.

I was like "wdym when I bring a killer. Is that a new item?". But I guess you meant key and not killer xd
I kinda wish I had you as a key holder instead of those that literally just leaves me on a hook or slugged for no reason and just escape through the hatch when they clearly could save me or something.
Once I literally just threw my 100% secured escape just to save someone. I got hooked by the killer(Doctor btw) near an exit gate that was 99%, EGC wasn't active, and my teammate healed far away from me. I see her looting a chest and then escape through the hatch. She could have saved me 100% and we both could have escaped, but noooooo, hatch+Key equals... something?

Most games are played around the last one or two gens thanks to the basic design of the game. Which means if you kill one or two survivors the last two or three can take the hatch instead of attempting to... You know, play the game.

I can agree upon this, yeah. I myself got bent over by lucky hatch find and 2-3 man key escapes, not really pleasant surprise.
Otherwise, I avoid using keys when I play survivor.

Keys are terrible, especially in swf since they just pass the key around.
Yesterday I had a game where i hooked all survivors at least once and stopped survivors on 2 or 3 gens. I killed two of them and the one who had the key was already dead and I was nearby his body so they didn't pick it up so they traded it a bit earlier. It's just not a fun mechanic as killer. Losing is fine in a game but losing (not pipping) because of this BS is awful.
If keys only opened for the survivor holding the key that would be a major improvement. No other items have nearly as much of an impact for a team so why should keys? I think there should be another change to Keys (such as delayed opening). There its mostly fixed and reasonable.
I also have some issues with hatch but that's a whole other topic but mildly related

Keys are so rarely used, that I find this ridiculous to even care about. You just had the bad luck of having it 2 matches in a day where they happened to find keys.
You can counter keys brought into the match really easy and rarely are keys found in chests, even with plunders.

I end up killing everyone at 4 gens or slugging 4 at 1 gen. Either way nobody is happy at the end.

what flavor kool-aid would you like? I've seen more keys in the past 5 months than in the past 2.5 years in matches.

I mean not necessarily. I remember I was learning PH a while ago and it was a close match. They did a lot of gens and I was getting a lot of hooks. I ended up with a 3 gen with 1 dead, 3 on death hook. But unfortunately, in that scenario I lost because of a key

Cause I have not seen a single nerf to keys. I've seen the hatch opening timer reduced a few seconds, but that is it.

I recommend using franklin's, last night I had survivors find 3 keys, with no plunderer's, and they didn't bring it in. And one of them had the offering when the hatch spawns. I made sure they didn't survive.
If you don't have franklin's slug them. It's not right for them to have this bug. They will complain if the killers have a mori bug.

Killers also have free toxic strategies they abuse as well so it’s pretty fair in all honesty. As long as face camping and tunneling is in the game then keys shouldn’t ever get touched because it is completely unfair to remove one sides free wins and toxic strategies will keeping the others sides.

you can counter tunneling you can counter facecamping.
you can't counter someone jumping in a hatch with a key

Worst part is you used to be able to, you could grab them during the hatch animation. But I guess survivors need a free win without having to finish their objective.
Funny how killer doesn't have a way to instakill all 4 survivors without doing something. Mori requires you to either kill all other 3 survivors if it's yellow or hook them 2 times

appraisal doesn't give you a greater chance of finding a key, it just makes opening chests faster.

Yeah erm I thought I'd try the tricksters end game exit gate blocker on pig it worked perfect till they found a key and 4 man escaped

My friend once told me of a match they had earlier this week where the survivors all brought shiny coins and they were trying adept Twins so there were 13 chests on the map. They went in the killer shack (it was one of the Autohaven maps idr which one) and there were like 6 keys on the floor. They just gave up and come endgame there was someone running a full chest build. Plunderer's, Appraisal, Pharmacy (so there was a medkit somewhere idk), and idr the last perk, I think they said it was something like Spine Chill or Sprint Burst. They guessed they were either swf or all pc players. I felt bad because that's insane. To be fair, I don't know and it's not like my friend would know if any were broken or if they were all dull/skeleton keys. I'm honestly surprised with 13 chests on the map, that build, and rarities being kinda broken right now that they only found like 6-7. They didn't specify if any survivors were holding keys, but I'd assume whoever had the build at least kept one key.

the devs said in the developer update that the hatch opening timer will not be the final change to keys.

Honestly I fancy my chances with a nice 3 gen all at 0 progress and 2 people on death hook. Keys should just work when there is 1 person left or all gens done.

Yes but it gives u double items in each chest which increases ur chances of getting one

I normally get sandbagged first carrying a key 😂 I'm like well I'm not gonna use that anymore. Killer Is blatantly gonna pee his pants crying and kick me in the nuts so Il just use Left Behind perk instead. Least it's inconspicuous until the end game to show what perks I've got 🤷♀️😂
Saying this, most killers know the maps literally with their eyes shut and lock the damn thing anyway, so regardless if I'm the last standing il just use the exit gate, I'm nackered anyway by this point so it's a case of "il just move on to the next match, it's a no brainer not to stress"

No you can’t counter tunneling and camping. If the killer wants someone dead they will die and there is nothing they can do to stop it and it ######### over the other 3 players even if they escape since the killer refused to interact with them their emblems get ######### and they depip/derank.

I've seen people unhook and escape and survive from a facecamping bubba.
it's 100% possible.
but stopping someone in mid chase from opening a hatch with a key is not possible at all.

I agree when I play survivor if I use a key it’s not even for the hatch but the other abilities they can have, I think the hatch should be reserved for the last survivor standing. When I play killer (I use doctor so that helps) I just try to keep tabs on where the person with the key is so everyone doesn’t just escape on me. I felt like keys and moris were both bad and now that moris are nerfed keys should be too.

Nah, them using a key to escape a 3-gen they made themselves, or to escape being dead on hook? That's not me getting steamrolled, it means I decided to play fair and not steamroll them.

When the Hatch is opened by a Key, it remains open for 10 seconds (was 30 seconds) thats a nerf maybe wont be enough just wait :) and see how it is . its a good start

Yeah, that's not a key nerf. It's a hatch nerf. Keys still function exactly the same.

If I'm playing survivor and I see someone with a key, I dedicate my life to sandbagging them.
Regardless of my role, if I even see you hold a key that's a report.
Being able to win the game without completing your objectives is patently ######### ridiculous.
