No wonder que times are bad
So I'm playing solo and keep getting paired with all red ranks 2-3man swf (not an issue), but most killers are barely in the green. How do they expect to keep new killers around when que times force them into "vary rare" matches? When I do get high rank killers, my teammates are allover the place down to 19/20.

This problem has been around for almost a year. It started with long survivor queues on red ranks. Because there were not enough red rank killers around. The matchmaking compensated this by matching lower ranked killers against red rank survivors.
In time, this became worse and worse. Now even rank 17 killers can get matched against red rank survivors. Which means, that new player are being scared away from the game. Because its simply not fun to face experienced players, when you just bought the game.

At this point the matchmaking tosses the first killer that clicks ready, into a match against the survivors that have been waiting the longest. Ignoring ranks and i suspect even regions.

I've certainly had a lot of baby Suevivors in my games recently as Killer.
Likewise, I saw a Rank 18 Bubba the other day.
Either way, I doubt any of those players had a good time.

Thats why matchmaking needs to prioritize balance instead of queue times.

Yes, the lack of killers is getting noticeable.
But people still call for killer nerfs. *shrugs*

It really depends on the time you're playing. When I play killer after 9 pm my time, I tend to get consistent red rank survivors. When I play killer before 9pm, I either get baby survivors or sweat squads.
When I play survivor prior to 5pm, I only face tunnelers and facecampers, when I play survivor from 5pm-9pm, I face high rank killers with sometimes 1 bad survivor and sometimes face an inexperienced killer. When I play survivor post 9pm, I dont have my next survivor game untill half an hour later, which is when I decide to start playing killer.

Certain Killers do need toned down.
I don't think strength is the issue though. Killer just isn't fun.
It's mentally and, sometimes, emotionally draining and that's a bigger problem than any Killer being weak.

Strenght is an issue when killers barely get 5 hooks by the time the gates are powered.

Don't overgeneralize. There are many regions. My killer queues have been distinctively worse lately.

Maybe you should participate in some of the tournaments that are running now.
Where most killers get 1 kill.

Stop acting like every NORMAL killer mach is against some swat swf team. I only play killer about 30% of my time and I still 4k nearly all of them (by going for 12 hooks as well) and I only play Ghostface and Doctor. The amount of swat swfs I encounter, I can count on one hand.
Edit: I am red ranks in both survivor and killer just so you won't claim I only play against noob ranks

Whenever there is a tournament. Survivors rofl stomp killers. But when someone points that out. People claim to always get 4k with 12 hooks in red ranks.
So your experience varies drastically from mine. I watch those tournaments (4 different so far, with all the same outcome) and see the same i see in my solo survivor matches on red ranks. Killers getting 4 or 5 hooks by the time the gens are completed. Only exception, being matches where survivors disconnected, suicided or were afk.
I made screenshots during 30 matches, just to show how boring it´s getting. But in the end stopped making them, because... why bother? My matches must be an exception. Just like that streamer, that showed how all gens were completed in 2 1/2 minutes. Where people explained, that this is an exception.
The game shouldn´t be balanced around people that play bad on purpose. That just meme around. That go afk or suicide on the first hook, because they don´t like the killer. But it is.

You completely miss the point: NORMAL (everyday) matches=/=tournament ones.
NO ONE gets only all tournament like survivors when they play. The last swat team I faced was months ago. It was a swf, all steamers, they brought a map offering and yes, I got stomped. Still I move on cause 99% of my games are NOT like that.
I honestly also don't expect to "win" a game like that with a 4k but if I can get a few hooks and maybe even a kill, thats a win in my book.

Well that is debatable tbh. Not saying old instaheals and the like were balanced but survivors were stronger back then.
Not like kill rates or general killer experience are that bad anyway. Sure there is the occasional SWF bully squad but they’re pretty rare from my experience.

And you missed my 30 matches.
I´m not playing on tournament level. I´m not even a good survivor (at least in regard of looping). Yet most of my matches are 3 or 4 man escapes.
Take a look at this. Just going out from the end screen, killer was OP. But those survivors threw the match after they won.

That’s probably because a lot of red rank killers aren’t the best either.

Can you please stop using streamer who play this game for a living as the norm? Otz, Scott etc play this game every day for hours. Does that mean they should never lose? No! In fact atm it's so easy for them to do 50+ win streaks with either "weak" killers or meme builds, thats should be way more concerning. Then there is people like Zubat who mostly stopped playing killer cause they say themself its too easy and therefore boring.
Imagine when MMR finally gets released and it would work like in other competetive games. Players like Otz and co would have to wait 15+ minutes to even find a mach and EVERY game would be against people who do gens in 3 minutes.
And he would most likely play against the same people over and over again cause there is maybe 5% of the whole playerbase who have this kind of skill level.

Like the tournament killers?
Fact is, that survivors have long queues during prime time. The reason behind this, is that there are not enough killers around. Even the devs admitted that. Killers just don´t enjoy their role anymore and it sure as hell isn´t because they are constantly winning.

While i agree on the 15+ minute queue part, it´s actually sad, when even Streamers, that play for a living, struggle.
Anyway, the new MMR will change things. But not in a way most people expect it to.

There are a lot of other reasons to why there are less killer players like not being able to play with friends and just the pressure of being the 1 in the 1vs4. From my experience in solo the average kill rate from my experience is a 2-3k which is pretty good all things considered.

I am sorry but I don't experience those long surv queue times anymore since the Trickster DLC got released (and the DS nerf which lead to increase of camping and tunneling)
My queue times are instant solo or duo, but my killer queue takes a few seconds.

It's been a couple of weeks that i feel 'forced' to switch from killer to survivor because queues are far longer for me on killer. Honestly I don't understand this.
Perhaps most people are rushing killer quests because they were done with survivor ones since the rift was about to close? This assuming the majority of playerbase did the survivor ones first

If your at top ranks then it's not an issue for you as anything less would just be easier.
You say it's not common but mm is creating these squads for low rank killers because of que times. It doesn't need to be a 4man for gens to fly, just 4 players not goofing around.
It's becoming increasingly common in my games that Survivors hang back to milk the killer for points. I don't consider this fun and I'm fairly sure this put the killer in a bad place.

Very Rare is purple.
If they are facing red ranks that's Ultra Rare.
