Forever Freddy
So I recently faced my first forever Freddy as a survivor and my team actually wasn’t doing too bad. He kept trying to slug and we got 3 gens done. But then the cycle of slugging began to work. He got 2 people down and was rotating between the two. Because he had sloppy and swing chains, it took forever to heal and by the time we got one off the ground, he had come back to put them back down again which in turn made it impossible to do gens since he also had thanatophobia and tinkerer (although we found his ruin quite early) Eventually, one person got tired of it and decided to DC, leaving us to continue the cycle. Then another person bled out and then he slugged the last person as I began to look for hatch. He found me just as I was finishing my rotation of the map and both me and the other person died on hook right next to the hatch. So my first question is why do people play this? It seems extremely boring and repetitive for both sides and doesn’t seem to give much in return. In fact, I double pipped and got more bloodpoints than the Freddy even though I died. Secondly, is there any counter to this? I understand that Freddy is getting the slow-down add ons changed to sound add ons soon, but I wanted to see if I’m missing anything when it comes to facing this type of Freddy. The only counter I see is heal speed perks and prove thyself (which I had), but that seems like an extremely boring way to play IMO. I even had resilience but that wasn’t enough to counter swing chains and thanatophobia.

Yep. I guess I’m lucky to have never faced him before. But I guess I had to at least once before he got changed.

If only you guys actually read the post...

counters are wake up, heal, and let your teammates bleed out while you sit on gens to get them done. as long as they aren’t on the hook, they have 4 minutes on the timer. if you sit on gens the whole time he has the slug, you can finish the 2 gens even with the slowdown perks. basically - adapt. relax on the altruism.
not like it matters, once the change comes out there won’t be any more forever Freddy.

why did you make the post if you know it's getting a nerf

Again, if you read the post instead of just reading the title, you would see the questions I put at the end. Also we still don't have a release date for the official build (at least I don't think), so finding a way to counter it in its current state seems sensible.

forever freddy isn't a thing since the addons got nerfed hard. more of a... longer freddy. i guess...

His slowdown addons weren't even bad even though they are getting changed. If people only knew how hard freddy can get bullied by just holding shift w and just pre dropping pallets. He never needed a nerf despite how I always have said he has the lowest skill ceiling in the entire game. I don't know every single time I'm in a game with Freddy I bully him so hard that the player usually just gives up. People complain about ruin and undying not as much as before, but just find the totems it doesn't take too long if he is stacking slowdown like that it's not that hard to counter pretty much anything he will bring. I don't know how people have such a hard time against him. Usually the player stacking slowdown isn't very good anyways.

It's the combination of sloppy thanatophobia for me especially when he slugs every person. Like a lot of other things in this game, the add ons aren't op until combined with these things.

Anytime you know he is coming literally just hold shift w and just pre drop strong pallets. He literally can't do anything, but brute force bloodlust, but I imagine if you are playing solo q like I do most of the time it's hard for people to grasp the concept of actually doing just that, because people in solo que tend to turn into potatoes who somehow got into red ranks not knowing what is even happening 99% of the time. So it's kinda hard to avoid thana, but that's my personal advice and input in what I think would help you a lot, because that's his biggest weakness.

Yeah I know. I'm just looking for a way to counter him until that gets officially changes.
