My PS4 settings messages are set to friends only, and someone who was on my team ended up messaging me calling me names and stuff.

Hitting someone on the hook wastes a killer's time and provides a rescue opportunity during wipe...unless you're the last on hook, but at that point, who cares?

Wrong, they just don't have a ban system yet. Reports are still being logged and bans will be carried out where appropriate.

If you report to Sony they will ban them , you have no post game chat on PS4 so you have to message through your PlayStation profile which makes it sonys issue , however as @Orion said they keep a backlog of all in game reports made they just haven’t worked out a solid way to implement the bans yetOrion said:Wrong, they just don't have a ban system yet. Just leave and ignore messages. It's not your fault, it's game design/bad connections fault.
Lobbies and lag on consoles are #########.
Got a lot of green lobbies with lag inside match (WiFi killer for sure).
I remember once i advised a guy who was a killer to try to play on cable and he replied "I know wifi suck but i wont change".
Take a note and don't play them again ...1
