there is a disturbing lack of demo mains
where my demo players at? i've literally seen every killer except him at least once. as a huge stranger things fan i'm sad nobody plays him in my games.

He's boring. He's a mid-tier Killer with a boring power and because of that, nobody really plays him.
He could've been so interesting too. I hope he gets a complete rework like Freddy did.

What’s boring about him? Shredding is very fun at tiles and portals give him tracking and mobility
Only killer who needs a full rework is nurse

His constant need of rat liver is holding him back.

He's a jack of all trades, master of none.
If you want ranged attacks, why play Demo when you can use Huntress, Deathslinger or Freddy?
You want stealth, why play Demo over Myers, GhostFace, Wraith or Pig?
You want map traversal? Why play Demo over Nurse, Billy, Oni or Blight?
You want anti-loop? Why play Demo over Deathslinger, Clown, Nurse or Spirit?
Say what you will about his strength, but the play rates cannot lie, he's unpopular. He's painfully mid-tier (imo) and has nothing unique or special about him.
I've got some ideas for him, if you'd care to hear, if not I totally understand but I love Demo and I want him to be interesting.

Demo is a low tier killer that is outclassed by many killers.

I'm getting into him, and from my perspective, no one plays him because he just isnt as rewarding as other killers. He's a B tier killer that takes a while to get good at between shredding and portal location, and he's add on reliant. Although he's extremely fun, there are better killers out there that take much less effort, such as Spirit or Freddy.
1 -
Maybe because he's one of the worst killers in the game?
Even tho he's an interesting one, he just doesn't work at all.
2 -
I’d love to hear them!
He is mid tier but tiers don’t really have a direct correlation with strength. Myers is one of the most played and he’s garbage imo
Guess most people play him because the want to be the demogorgon

I'd want to be the demogorgon too.
Here are my ideas:
He will exist in a similar state as new Freddy, where he is in the Upside-Down, but can still attack and interact normally.
Allow Demo to pull Survivors into the Upside-Down. This gives them a big debuff. Survivors can return (or enter) using Demo's Portals, a randomly spawned Portal or by being pulled out via another Survivor (only pulled out, you cannot enter this way). Survivors in the Upside-Down will see other Survivors fading in and out, like Freddy does at a range.
Allow Demo to pull a single generator into the Upside-Down with him. This will force Survivors to play on his turf at least a little bit.
Allow Demo's Portals to expand and corrupt the environment with the Upside-Down. This gives an incentive to cleanse them and it makes it so that they are soft area denial and big info gatherers.
Fix Shred's FPS on Console.
Remove all of global sounds.
Remove his loud stomping when coming out of the Portal.

I play him quite regularly. To answer your question though, it's because he's weak and gives survivors way too much information. Most his addons are also trash.

Demo and Trapper are on my list to main if/when I ever get tired of Myers.

Demo is a mediocre killer at best with practically every other killer outperforming him in terms of abilities. @Pulsar is right, why play Demo when we have other killers?
To put into a brief reasoning, Demo isn't stealthy (like he should be with portals nearby) nor is he unpredictable:
- His shred is one of the easiest countered things in the game with it being VERY similar to Billy's sprint except it doesn't 1-shot you.
- His portals don't work if the survivor has half a brain with any type of map awareness/sound. Not to mention, he *of course* makes an audio cue when he teleports through one.
- He broadcasts every single action he does to the entire map. Hit somebody? RAAAAA! Miss an attack? (idk how to describe this sound) Pallet stunned? *whistle sound*. This is a huge disadvantage.
I'm sorry, but it makes sense as to why others don't like to play Demo much. Sure, there are some hardcore fans out there that just want to play Demo because he's Demo, but that's as much as you'll usually get. Almost every single Demo I've gone against has lost, and it wasn't even a close game.

yess. i never see any of those killers, even myers is a rare occurence. it's so weird for trapper to be so rare when he's the face of the game. i used to see him quite often when i used to play a year ago

I know he isn’t that good but he’s still a decent killer. Without rat liver he is garbage though

There's a disturbing amount of counter productive faults with demo's design/add-ons
2 -
It sucks because he's one of the killers in the game with the most personality imo despite it hurting him (so many sound cues).

Demo isn't nearly good enough of a killer to justify how hard his shred powers are to use. It's an incredibly unforgiving power as if you miss with it, you're stunned for a few seconds but with none of the benefits of something like Leatherface's where the risk is worth it cause you can down them in one shot.
Against a group of survivors who can dodge reasonably well, Demo is a M1 killer with a poor man's Freddy teleportation gimmick
2 -
A while back I decided that I wanted to main Demo, I tried. but eventually I grew tired of getting slaughtered because I had a power that doesn't really come in handy, and Demo has garbage add-ons.
The portals make noise when they're near you, you scream when you enter one, and the portals can be sealed, plus when you exit you're still a really tall, stompy boy, so the undetectable is pointless.
Shred is a non-basic attack that isn't hard to juke, its cooldown after breaking a pallet isn't an improvement over a default pallet break, doesn't inflict any sort of additional status effects on a hit survivor, and doesn't insta-down.

I mean you can't experiment with addons really because he only has a few that are half decent; most of them are hot garbage.
Also, you have to be pretty decent at the game to play Demo well he is easily shut down by most of the game's meta; and is not the strongest of killers (albeit not really weak either). Also, he telegraphs everything he does very clearly, so solo queue survivors play closer to what SWF survivors do because they have so much information about what is going on and where you are.
The result is he's actually one of the least played killers in the game; mostly because he is also probably one of the most bullied. Be nice to Demo boys, they are good boys and if you are you will see more of them I am sure.

Just seems like everything demo can do is done better by another killer. I tried, I'm a pretty big fan of the series myself, but even my love for the franchise couldn't get me over the hump to where he was fun to play as.
1 -
It's weird because I enjoy playing him and I've even started not using addons (so no rat liver) but I only really use half of his kit most of the time
I prefer to just keep the pressure on survivors with STBFL and Infectious rather than setting down and using portals. Shred is so fun to use, I hate breaking the momentum by using portals
1 -
he dose not stand out, which is funny because he is the noisiest killer in the game.
Everything he can do another killer can do better and demo is a licence killer with 3 mediocre perks so not many people own him.
His addons are boring and poorly designed (i mean his best are brown quality ffs) and his overall power and design has so many counter intuitive aspects.
everything he dose gets relayed to the survivors through audio ques. hits, misses, stuns, breaks, teleportation, portal placing, the portals themselves, opening his mouth.
His god damn footsteps can be heard 16 meters away from his location even when undetectable from perks or using his portals which makes red moss one of his "ultra rare" addons worthless.
i'm a demo main btw :'D

For a bit of context I've been playing Demo as my main killer since his launch.
The reason so many people neglect demo is because he has a very unforgiving power that you have to get incredibly familiar with before you can even hope for consistency against good teams. Learning when you can and can't use shred is the most important part of playing demo and once you do it's incredibly rewarding, but for power with a very heavy penalty for inaccuracy, understandably most people just don't want to put in the time.
On top of this demo's reeing provides constant information to survivors about what he's doing, solo survivors and players that aren't running info perks are suddenly given a guarantee of if the killer is busy or not. All of this forms a killer with a steep learning curve that will just turn out to be a neutered huntress that throws themselves. While demo is regarded as one of the most fair killers in the game due to his obvious counter-play, the barrier for player entry in order to win consistently with him is unfortunately tough for most. His add-ons speak for themselves, they all suck except for 2 or 3 so I personally just don't run add-ons at all. Hopefully this add-on pass will add some unique things to ease new players into his power and less useless filler.
Overall demo will always be my favorite killer in the game because of how much fun I think his power is, but I can't help but understand the criticism he receives. All I hope for is that they don't pull a Nurse/Billy and rework his base kit even though it's just meant to be an add-on pass. Sorry this turned into a bit of a rant, I'll shut up now ;)

if feel sad for the guy behind that computer when I see demo

Sorry dude, I'm doing what I can.
With Bronx now going Blight main there's only twelve of us left and we can't be in everybodys game.
Sorry again.

Demogorgon main strength is map control and shred to get easier downs, Spirit is far superior in both fields while being unlocked with shards and also having smaller TR and stealth.
Is not that Demogorgon is bad but his main strengths are extremely overshadowed by another free Killer so whoever wants that kind of gamestyle has a far superior option.
