I learned how to deal with LT walls from Ardetha (he does personal coaching), but you are right about them being next to each other is absurd.

Speaking as a killer main (who plays both sides) I'm boonshwaggled by the amount of people who claim that survivor is just as stressful. Do you not realize that you're part of a 4 man team? You're not required to carry every match.
As far as what I would do to decrease killer stress... I would answer nothing. The killer role is designed to be more stressful but in most cases more powerful. If you buffed killers (or nerfed survivors) my win rate as killer would go fron 95% to 99%. And that frankly doesn't seem fair.
Most teams have the tools to beat me, they just don't use them. Playing killer is supposed to come with a certain amount of stress because you're outnumbered. This is normal. Revel in it and overcome it. That is all.

I think all the game needs is a proxy chat to close the gap between solos and swfs and then a general base kit buff to killers, but nothing too findamentally strong. Like, base kit 12 meter deerstalker, faster bloodlust, better totem spawns, base kit 6 second insidious and/or base kit territorial imperative.

it's quite simple. the game is 1 VS 4.
the survivors work on a team and you're playing by yourself.
If you're the one you're at a disadvantage. And by well I mean at least get 1 or 2 kills. Each person's definition of well is different in this case.
the same pressure is on survivors. finish enough gens and get out. the only difference is they've got 3 other people helping them along with the aid of addons and items. so it's actually a little less

You're not reading and understanding this properly.
The way you're describing is how the game is supposed to feel. It however does not feel like that.

Being crushed then T-bagged then having an angry, disappointed noise play in your ears is not fun in the slightest.

unless we heavily tilt the game in the killers favor / rethink the overall balance goal, the stress level is going to stay the same.
in fact, once MMR drops the stress level is going to increase very drastically, as you wont have any "chill" matches inbetween anymore as you do now.

i remeber first time playing the game in red ranks i would get stress and scared because i fear i wont perform well. in a match

For me there's not an easy answer. I have GAD and as long as I'm the star of attention in a match, I feel anxious. Triple that with every mistake. Which begins a vicious cycle of me being too nervous to make any mistakes, thus making mistakes, thus making me that much more nervous. I hate looking like an idiot and being one of the few killers who often has less points than most of the survivors. It's not that I don't know HOW to play, it's that I'm not GOOD at playing, because it's difficult to just get out there and be aggressive and have fun. All the responsibility for my "side" resting on me and me only is too much sometimes.

I agree with the negative vote of expanding gen times, but I also feel that giving survivors more objectives would sort of swap the roles. Then instead of the survivors just having to get gens (which isn't as easy as people make it sound, I've played plenty of matches where we get down to 2 or 3 gens and suddenly the tide starts to shift dramatically, the killer catching up and getting every single one of us), the "oil for the generator" system arbitrarily doubles how much the survivors have to do while not increasing how much the killers have to do.
Then the survivors (perhaps rightfully, I don't know) would complain that the killer is the one who has it easy. Every generator would now take maybe two minutes or more, given the extra task involved, while also forcing them to run around more and be more exposed. That's basically just advantage = killer, and some of the killers already have way too much of an advantage. I'd hate to not only have to handle a bunch of gennys and unhooking companions while also running for oil and finding the gen broken upon return while other companions are dying and the Spirit or Wraith are somewhere flying around.

I mean... if you aren't willing to take the challenge - Friday the 13th has a nice single player mode that you can destress in with very little effort.
You have to go in to DBD expecting that you might get one of those teams that run circles around you for 15 minutes. It is what it is. If you can't multitask well, it's going to be a headache regardless.

Just keep whittling away at second chance perks until the game is in a healthy state.
If Exhaustion perks were balanced the same way as DS, Unbreakable, and Deliverance the game would feel so much nicer.
"Oh, she isn't a bad player and she's running Dead Hard. Well, guess I can't chase her this game" is not a line of thought a PLAYER should ever find yourself going down.

It's both.
A coordinated SWF is a nightmare to deal with, but so is a group of four competent solo survivors that all have three health states per chase because they're running Dead Hard.

I dodge SWF lobbies. I like having chill games. Even if 4 survivors escape, its cool. As long as I'm enjoying the game. Toxic coordinated SWF try hards think otherwise.
I can deal with SWF by playing tournament style, where you have to proxy camp and tunnel. But I would rather not. It's just not enjoyable.
- PC only lobbies gets dodged
- 3 or more SWF gets dodged
- Friend list on private gets dodged
- 1000+ hours gets dodged
- 4 flash light lobbies gets dodged
- 2 or more toolboxes gets dodged
- Survivors with same characters, clothes and name theme gets dodged
The above survivors will find killers that are willing to play against them. Just not me. Been having really enjoyable games ever since I started actively dodging SWFs. The only time I would tunnel someone out the game is if they use For the people to insta save immediately after a down.

Were you responding to me? Because in my case it's just the anxiety disorder itself, the feeling of looking like a total ass because all the attention is on my inexperienced killer talents. I actually enjoy an active and somewhat challenging game. Friday the 13th does have a single-player mode, to its credit, but it's only Jason vs. bots (and not vice versa, for programming difficulty reasons) and sadly Jason is so OP and the bots so basic that it's not really fun. Maybe a good way for aspiring killers in this game to practice their confidence and aggression with, though.

Uhh... Killer is always going to be more stressful, because you're playing a 1v4. This is like asking for 3v1 minigames to be less stressful for the 1 person in Mario Party, when that's kinda the entire point. The 1 has an advantage or set of advantages that generally make the game easier for them as a solo. The 3 (Or in DBD's case, 4) have less advantages overall, but they rely on decent teamwork to out preform. (Which is why really good comms can make or break games for a good team. One wrong call and it can all easily crumble, and that's also why Solo Survivor is so easy to verse and hard to play- same with a lot of SWFs in the game, if you're playing a decent killer with a good build and get good map RNG while knowing what you're doing.)
Plus, there is a bit of a community factor as well. People like to make killer out to be this super difficult, uber-impossible mode to suceed in- when in reality, it's just a case of you have to practice to succeed, and Killer does have a bigger learning curve then Survivor, due to their unique powers and gameplay. (Obviously, both do still share a learning curve though of learning how to run map structures, learning how to read the flow of the game+the type of players you're versing, mind games, etc- but those can be applied to both sides.)
Tbh I think Survivor is just more popular because you can play with friends, and everything is more fun with friends. And I know at least for me personally, I just don't really find the role of Killer half as engaging as I do Survivor. I usually find Killer to just be kinda boring and not worth the time, when I can be playing other games. I really like Team-Based online games, and Survivor, even Solo Survivor, really helps fill that for me in a really interesting and fun way. (Plus, I just find interactions with other Survivors funny. And I should note here that none of this should be too surprising, as I came from Overwatch with like... 2k hours before DBD lol. I really like team games.)

This may be a stupid question but how do you know that these are all signs of a SWF team? I'm a solo player and sometimes carry a toolbox or medkit, how can one tell that I'm not with the others even if they're together? On that note, how can I MYSELF tell? I'd just as soon play with other randos. I didn't know there was a way to identify a team (short of similar naming structure) from the lobby alone.

it wasn't aimed at anybody in general. But it's where i go to destress and blow off steam if I'm not feeling up to pushing myself.
Was just a general suggestion for somebody looking to blow off steam stress free if they felt the need.

Oh okay, just wondering because I did mention to someone a few days ago that I played F13 first. Good game in its own right, great fealty to the source material. It's a true act of love. Not as good a game though, at least in my opinion. Multiple Jasons are cool but there just isn't enough variation between them and there are (or at least were, at the time) only like half a dozen survivors. Only around 8 or 10 (largely interchangeable) maps too, I think.

I do the same thing, if I think a squad is all an SWF lobby I'm dodging. Although from my experience console users play more in SWF than pc users.
