Steam Profile Before/After DBD
For the record, I've never played Forever Freddy in my life. I will admit I've been guilty of camping and tunneling before, on purpose or by accident. Either way, I found it funny how the comment section on my Steam profile has "evolved" over time.

There's no reason to have profile comments open to public tbh.

I definitely would have set it to private by now if I didn't find it so funny tbh. It's like my own little collection of people that've gotten mad at me. Not sure if that makes me sound like an a-hole though.

There was a time I started collecting all death threats I got on my profile, but it reached a time where I had 3 pages of death threats and I didn't want to look at that.
Reported 3 pages of death threats and steam only took action against 2 accounts sadly

I remember when I used to find this funny. After 3 years of harassment I finally cracked and put my comments to friends only, thankfully.

Holy ######### that's horrible. I can handle salt but death threats seems a little... much. Were they from DbD or something else?

All DBD, I think the funniest comment I got was "Your sad :( "
But yea I did get lots of death threats wishing me to get cancer and stuff and detailing how they would kill me
It's not pleasant, sort of glad I left this game as my mental health improved, but I am still unsure if I will return because of resident evil

Detailing how they would kill you? What the actual ######### dude?

That's what happens when people don't suffer consequences for their actions and/or have others actually reward them for being dicks. The best course of action isn't to collect their salt, it's to report each and every single one of them. Make it as difficult as possible for them to be like that with impunity and never engage with them in any way.

After the first comment, I just shrugged, deleted it, then locked down the profile. Posted an explanation of why I have it locked down and how I felt about people who left hateful comments being petulant children who couldn't handle getting beat in a video game.
Spouting hateful comments in console dm's or on Steam are pissing into the wind but are just too ignorant to realize how it makes them look less mature than my 7 year old who loves fart jokes.
At least my 7 year old I can look at and smirk because it's kinda adorable at his age. But these comments I see from people just make me feel nothing but loathing contempt as they should really know better.

I turned off comments a very long time ago. It prevents these issues.

I have also received several death threats and racial slurs and all of the good stuff. The most notable one "I hope your family dies of covid" after I got a 4k against people who sent me to a strong map for them, brought keys, stacked all of the same meta perks (before the ds nerf), and brought a map (item). Cuz you know, I should be sent death threats for playing a video game a certain way lmao.
It doesn't affect me and still makes me laugh though, but like I have said in the past there are loads of people who actually are hurt over time by shallow comments like those. Those are the people I fear for, I sort of wish I could run into those people so other more vulnerable people don't have to, I'd lay them out for everyone.

Yep. Usually when I get salt mail it's mostly just a bunch of passive aggressiveness so I can't really report them. In the event they are overly vulgar or like in one case how someone told me they hope my parents die; I do report them. Unfortunately though it is still unlikely that action will actually be taken against them even in such cases.

I was expecting that before entering the thread 😂
Welcome to dbd.

I love the salt comments.

I actually enjoy steam comments on my profile, good or bad. All of them are funny to look back on. Like this one:
I made the mistake of deleting almost all of my steam comments from 2016 DBD and I regret that very much.

After 3 years you should ask him about that Vac
