Why are red ranks such cowards?

Map offering and a key, and usingit durring EGC against a Trickster that only has 1 hook? Seriously?

Does anyone else see this often?

To be fair, it's not like they know who they're going up against when they are selecting their items/offerings. The key/hatch offering combo is pretty common. They might have used it for funsy during EGC or maybe they had a challenge or something but I'm not sure what makes the survivor a "coward" for using the items and offering...

The only time I'm irked about that kind of thing is the sudden item swap at the very end of the timer, which brings out the SweatLord Killer Tippy out but other than that, why would they bring items and offerings and then not use them?

you might want to blure out survivors time to avoid breaking the name and shaming forum rule

edit: just for little information crosplayplayers dont have accec to chat so being salty in andgame chat at crossply players its pointless

It was a last second switch, and they used it in my face. When it's obvious you are against a much lower skilled killer, why use it? It just seems, I don't know, rude?

Also, this is just one example, been seeing a LOT of these this past week.

I'll remember to blurr/redact in the future, and as for the chat, I typed that before I noticed the crossplay.

I don't like it when survivors bring keys either, but I don't see how you could see that as cowardice.

They earned over 22k BP, so clearly they weren't hiding all match. If the EGC had started then at least one gate was opened. Assuming her teammates were fine (which it seems they were) there's really nothing for her to do at that point but get her hatch escape.

to avoid this behavior run frankil key nerf is well know to the comminity so put up franklin to semi counter it

All 4 of them escaped mean all the gens got done. They clearly didn't even need the key against you, no offense. You ARE playing trickster, the weakest killer in the game.

Rude behavior is not exclusive for survivor players. For example it’s a very common strategy to tunnel out the weakest link of the surv team which essentially means making their game as miserable as possible while knowing they are not the best.

maybe they have a challenge to escape with the key, are trying to get an achievement or something else. Maybe they had many bad matches on that day and wanted an escape for a daily. Also using the key gets rid of it, so one key less to use in future matches..

why does it matter if you’re a high tier killer like nurse or a low tier killer like trickster when it comes to using a key? How does that exactly make them a coward? How does it make them a coward that they used the key during end game collapse although you only got 1 hook? These are questions you should be asking yourself. Sure last switching to a key last minute is kind of scummy but if you saw they last second switched you could of just task managered out with no penalty.

They could have gone for the trophy/achievement to escape trough the hatch with all 4 survivors.

Maybe that's why they went for it anyways.

I've been playing since day 1 and still don't have it.

Tho i don't play for trophies, but if I get the opportunity to escape through the hatch with all 4 survivors, I'll take it.

Maybe look at the killer level before you make assumptions.

  • Member Posts: 600

Okay so you’re a rank 11 and you had 2 green rank survivors, 1 yellow rank survivor and a red rank survivor. You’re devotion doesn’t matter, so what? Any one of those survivors could have brought the key. You’re literally stereotyping red rank survivors whether you realize it or not. Oh and by the way I have 3,800 hours in the game and it’s common for killers to act like this. I know what I’m talking about thank you very much (:

Anything else you wanna add? (:

How the game is right now they probably would have found a key in a chest (spawns have been pretty consistent sadly) so them brining one and is of little consequence right now

Idk man I prefer this as killer. I know the switch last second tilts me and they won't last long because of that (tunnel yo ass) but bringing a key allows me to see it in your hand throughout the trial. Finding it in a chest when I am winning or at least a step a head and the game just ending is what gets me. A survivor in lobby at the start with a key allows killers to play around it but this person with 22k obviously did not hide with it so you had your chance to stop it. He used it when game was practically over. Not saying you can't do work in endgame cuz that's not true the majority of all the killers work (high rank play) is with 2 gens or less. Hopefully they will nerf them soon but until then don't get so upset over the game. Set your expectations realistic man especially with trickster.

It common for both sides to act like this. I gone against people who get upset or think they are entitled to something. I know what I'm talking about when I say both sides whine about things in this game. :)

They finished every gens plus you only had 3 perks. Never run a killer without 4 perks especially if you're learning them. You lost sadly but there a next time. I'm assuming starstruck was never activated considering you would have more downs with agitation. You probably lost due to how gens got separated and how much pressure you didn't put in.

Your game, your game play and tactics.

You choose what ever you want to enable yourself a decent match.

You're entitled to that and carrying keys, maps.. or what ever you choose isn't rule breaking. It's just insulting to killers feeling threatened before the games started that you could potentially win.

Seriously.... you do you. And choose what items you want. I generally don't carry keys although I do hold about 5 in my loadout... but I also run left behind, and that's a perk. And guess what? I still get moaned at for running that. But nonetheless it's MY CHOICE and I'm not rule breaking. I also get moaned at for using toolboxes, first aid boxes, maps or if I come across a crate and find a key once the hatch is locked. I mean... sure I won't unlock the hatch with it, il just carry it around like a div and use the exit gates and make the game harder for myself just so the killer doesn't throw his tantrum.

Why do we have these things if we're almost what seems to be FORBIDDEN or OUT OF ORDER to use? ... 🤦‍♀️

Meh! Idc I'm using my props I've spent my points on whether hillbilly cries to his mumma or not.

Okay?.... but you’re like..... not the person of the Original Post.

  • Member Posts: 686

Do you have to be the original person to hold an opinion now or? .... 🤔

  • Member Posts: 582

Lol wut? They completed every gen. Hatch doesn't spawn until number of survivors +1 gens have been done. We also know he only had 1 hook since he clearly stated it.

Since egc had started that means they had a gate open before the key was used. So he could have at best hoped for a 1k with some survivor greed for a 4 man out.

Would you have felt better if the rank 14 had the key and hatch offering. The outcome would have likely been the same. They are simply using an item that is in the game to possibly have an easier time. I get that it didn't seem fair at times but it's a part of the game.

Okay but this is a public forum meaning I'm allowed to reply back.

  • Member Posts: 600

Never said you couldn’t reply back. I’m well aware this is a public forum but like...... you made a comment on my comment that was for the original post so at this point you’re just looking for an argument.

  • Member Posts: 600

Nah not at all, but if you wanna start arguments for no reason we sure can.

  • Member Posts: 686

    * re reads the original post to look for potential argument causes*

1 other thing and it is not to bm, toxic or mean or anything.

But there is no reason to say the rank 4 is a coward.

Matchmaking isn't really ideal in dbd and he can't know whether he goes against a rank 1 or a rank 20.

He probably plays the same as I do and that is play as if you go against a high rank killer.

Even if in your situation you only got 1 hook, they won't know what perks you have for certain.

If i see that a killer has only a few hooks, i always suspect noed and act accordingly.

It doesn't mean I go out instantly but I do whatever it takes to not get hit and escape either by the gates or hatch.

And let's say that all 4 of them were a swf as they were all cross platform.

A while back bhvr had changed the matchmaking for swf, meaning they get match according to the highest ranked player of the group.

Might have changed over time by an average off all the rank combined.

So they probably played like they went against a high rank killer.

Point is, you can't blame the rank 4 for going against a lower ranked killer.

Nor can you blame them for using a key and offering, if anyone is to blame it's bhvr.

Are keys and the hatch a dumb game mechanic?

Yes absolutely, but you can't blame players for using what the game/devs gave them.

Nope... I cant see any one trying to cause any aggro. Only being entitled entitled saying how they feel. Unless you can send me some evidence of any comments of potential arguments causes incase I've missed anything?

  • Member Posts: 3,297

At this point you were tryna to start something with the original person. Although I must say I'm surprised you agreed both sides whine over everything. Like survivors and killers whine over the stupidest things in this game. I understand you think you were gonna belittled someone over how many hrs you have compared to them. It very common for survivors main to do this. I have the same amount as you. :) The only different is I don't use it as some type of bragging right.
