My prediction for new killer WENDIGO was not the one used but It doesn't mean I was wrong. 💙
With no food, The man is forced to murder his friends after needing to resort to cannibalism else they would starve. Cannibalism releases the native american curse of turning into a wendigo. The mans reflection in the mirror represents the passing of time and the decay of the man into a creature.Â
The tallys marked on the wall represent days survived trapped in the avalanche. Frank who tallyed the most days likely is the killer in this case.Â
I hope I'm right.Â
I cannot find any point which makes me think hmm it's not a wendigo..
I think having a generic man with a knife would be too simple and honestly a little disappointing.Â
Give me your suggestions. I want it to be The Wendigo as killer.

Notice the decapitated body of the skiier in the 1st teaser. A yeti wouldn't slice it up. More likely crush it.
Truck on roof - Wendigos inhumane strength.
Boarded up windows - keep wendigo out.
Darkness - Wendigos come out in the darkness.
1 -
Also the snowy mountain. Is it trying to replicate the enviroment in until dawn. Wendigos are not licenced and I am conviced this will be a fully original chapter.0
-
Notice the lack of large footprints in the snow - not a yeti.0
-
What could "Legion" have to do with this?
That's the only thing I'm missing.0 -
If you don't believe me...Look into mirror and see the decay into the wendigo in front of you. The mask may just be to hide the decay but he's losing control of his body and is losing all sense if humanity.
I swear if its just a mad man with a knife i will be so upset. What is a madman doing on these snowy mountains?.Â3 -
Just google wendigos and see that they can have 2 legs too. Until dawn makes you think they are 4 legged but 2 legs would make it simple to create the movement for a wendigo killer.0
-
WENDIGO WENDIGO WENDIGO
I'm sorry but I want this to be what I want it to be.Â2 -
Once there is a video teaser and you hear the clicks the cracking and the rapid crawling then you will know Daddy Wendigo is here...or infact right behind you...don't move...stay completely still.0

It's not Wendigo. The word legion directs us to a number of people, and the reveal image depicts multiple shades of this person looking in the mirror. If we connect both the things, it leads to one man with multiple personalities. They probably even have names for each one of them.Â4

It's referencing the character's MPD, nothing more.0 -
Legion, could it mean that there are many wendigo's created if multiple people resorted to cannibalism.Â1
-
We already got a Wendigo based Killer.
Also Until Dawn is the worst game i have ever touched, until somone made me play boring ass Detroit: Become Gameplay4 -
Legion. Could it be that a native american curse has doomed you in the way it's sealed your fate. Legion as in you are part of this curse. Something like that. It's hard to explain.
I really want the devs to have gone with the wendigo.0 -
@ChesterTheMolester The hag isn't a wendigo. How insulting. The hag is a no good street worker and you know that.
Well we already have a guy with a knife. Wendigos can be much much more complex than the hag.1 -

I'd love it! **I think I have read that this chapter will be the culmination of a very old project: maybe the ability to climb? A Wendigo enjoys supernatural agility, the heights are great for launching ambushes against the poor prey...

You all wrong it's the dude from that movie split.1
-
This is the perfect opportunity for a wendigo. Snowy mountain doesn't scream split personality to me. Those people are likely to be found in a psychiatric establishment.0

I read the best suggestion from @Blueberry (well....after my prediction that the character in the teaser is the survivor) and that....what if the new character is both survivor and killer!
That would definitely be something new. I am all for mechanics that buck the system (like abathur in HotS).
Not sure if @Blueberry was the first to mention it but it was the first I read and thought "YES! PLEASE!"
I am probably setting the bar pretty high but every killer has a unique mechanic and I wouldn't put it past these developers to do something cool like that.0 -
if it isn't a wendigo then I'm uninstalling dbd. (Secretly keeps playing dbd).Â
No I won't but I'll see it as a big missed opportunity.1 -
I'm down for another killer that would look like the hag. Lets ship them.

I mentioned this a few days ago because everything I have been seeing regarding the new killer has been reminding me of Until Dawn. But, I did a bunch of research and after reading about wendigos, I think they could be too tall. They're 7ft tall or something like that. But I agree that they would be pretty schweet to have in the game. Although I don't know what their powers could be, unless they corrupted the humans that they bit, turning other survivors on eachother.
Someone suggested benedict baker the other day, which would make the most sense.
I also think it's possible that the character is a sort of doppleganger considering that there are 4 reflections in the mirror, and the killer himself peering into the mirror, implying that he hides amongst the survivors. Like maybe his power would be to take the appearance of the survivor farthest from him until he attacks a survivor, allowing for some major mind games.

Wendigos come in different shapes and sizes. Fat wendigo, skinny wendigo. Mini wendigo, large wendigo. Doggo wendigo kitty wendigo. Big booty wendigo. Flat booty wendigo. Whatever your preference is there's a wendigo for you. While stocks last save 30% when quoting "Black Fridaygo" and snarling at the man on the checkout.

People seem to be attached to the idea that some guy with a knife with multiple personalities is the killer. A wendigo fits all the gaps and the psycho leaves a couple of blanks.Â
Legion we are many. Sounds more like there are more of us (wendigos) than I am many people which you could suggest split personality from.
In terms of power I would expect a wendigo to climb walls and pounce attack or sprint like a wild animal to get to places.Â
Maybe they can see recent footsteps and the infrared heat map of a survivor. They are affected by light whether they incorporate this into the killer mechanic is unknown. Might not be a wendigo. Could be the man in the mirror in his transition to a wendigo. As in the killer decays during the game into a creature the longer it goes on for.1 -
One thing I noticed is the truck on the roof. The rear lights were on making me think its recent. Could the survivor have been thrown onto the rooftop by a creature or weather event. Could the survivor own or drive the truck. Because it looks like everything else has been there for a long time. Dunno about the body. That looks kinda recent. Survivor could be a skiier.Â0

Or maybe, just maybe, there was an avalanche?
Just saying0 -
And ffs we already have a wendigo killer

I'm starting to think that AshleyWB is a bot.

Hag isn't a wendigo. She's a street worker and she had join dbd because business was bad. We have a guy with a knife. You want another one. Your argument is illogical and oouzes with hypocrisy.0
-
No I'm real. Or am I? Are you real?1

WENDADDY IS LOVE WENDADDY IS LIFE

Hag is a wendigo, she became a crazest blood firsty cannibla after eating one of her captor out of revenge and desperation.
She as mystical background that could relate to native american from wich the wendigo tale comes
She's skinny as ######### and always hungry2 killer having similar weapon isn't the same thing as 2 killer being the same mythical creature ffs
The fact you don't consider the hag as a wendigo is telling that you don't give a ######### about having a wendigo in game
You just a scrub that want an until dawn chapter
0 -
@Dragonredking Well Its clear you want a unicorn as a killer.0
-
2 chainsaw wielding killers yet according to your logic they cannot be killers unless they are completely different in every single way. Says a lot about how much you know about the game. Your words don't match up with whats in the game. @Dragonredking0
-
It's definitely not a killer who has legs because every killer has legs already. @Dragonredking your logic. Just saying.0

Why do you see it as a problem. A barrier which the devs cannot pass. There are similarities between every killer yet you're adamant that there cannot be 2 killers who have similar backgrounds. A Wendigo can be really tall even taller thab myers. The hag us crouched up into more of a frail old woman.
The appearance would be drastically different. Plus the hag power would be drastically different from the Wendigos power.0 -
For the same reason I was pissed when they hadded Leatherface in the game
It take away from the uniqueness of an already existing killer.
Leatherface, unlike the killer we are going to have doesn't only share a weapon even his power is a weaker version of billy
It was also clear since day one that hillbilly was supposed to be a knowoff Leatherface the same way trapper was for JasonI rather have them create a wide variety of killer instead of creating killer with extremely similar background
And will the killer we have will have a knife like Myers and the Clown his power will be different, the way he will use the knife will be different, the way he look will look nothing like any of existing killer, his background will be different.
There isn't one thousand way to do a wendigo (expecially if you respect the real life mythos about them)
For the killer to be a wendigo, he would need to eat flesh out of desperation, once a wendigo he will use his claw to attack, he will look somewhat like the hag but maybe taller, and the only thing that will trully be unique about him will be his power.0 -
Eating of flesh. Do you know how sharp wendigo claws are. They likely will be made as different to hag that it can be. The mori would be something like slicing the survivor apart rather than ripping out flesh as the hag does.
I get your frustration but If a wendigo was a killer the experience would be totally incomparable to the hag if done right. All the hag does that's wendigo like is the mori that's it. Other than her basic appearance being wendigo like. Her add ons and power try to instil that native american curse vibe but it fails to get that vibe.
Wendigo would be a chance to do it justice.1 -
If the wendigo is the killer I'm definitely having it as my avatar pic. Real freaky.Â0
-
Why is everyone saying "wendigo would fit great" when we all know Krampus would fit better? Either way, it's probably neither!Â
Still saying its weird for them to drop a "with snow comes darkness" teaser the day Utqiagvik, Alaska plunges into 65 days of no sun.Â0 -
Wendigo fits every single clue. Apart from legion. Nothing else fits. Not even the split personality guy.Â0
-
Just waiting for a new teaser to come out so I can conduct some futher research.0

Interested to know how your wendigo theorie explain the scribbled name on the wall and the mark scratched underneath each one.

Wendigo fits none of the clues and @AshleyWB knows it. They're just in denial.

AGAIN, this killers ability would not work because 4 friends or even 3 can just say hey "im not moving/ im working on a gen" so whoevers runnign or walking around is not me.
Killer ability is now pointless

I predict when they reveal the killer's backstory, it will clearly not be a wendigo, and yet people will still keep calling it a wendigo.
