Perks and Killers are not Balance
I just feel like ranting
stop saying "just use Ruin" "just use DS" "just use [meta perk]"
People shouldn't be forced to run a single perk if they want to play a more balanced game
On the topic of killers, no killer should be made with the explicit purpose of balancing something, Pig was added the way she was because gen-rushing (at the time) was so intolerable, but making a killer the only counter to the gameplay loop of the other team is nothing short of idiotic.
Stop forcing people to limit their choices to balance unfair advantages and remove disadvantages. Stop using the existence of perks and killers to undermine the importance of game balance
this isn't directed solely at the balance team, but also at the community

Does that make oni idiotic? He was made to counter the injured meta in a way

A killer made with one explicit purpose isn't idiotic in of itself, it's the fact that they made a killer to fix the balance instead of fixing the balance itself.
If you want to play Oni, that's great, but you shouldn't be forced to play Oni to counter the injured meta

Different killers work against different strategies. If you struggle against a specific strategy then use a perk or killer to counteract that.
This game kinda has to be balanced around perks and killers because if it wasn’t high level play would be a mess

Well, most game develop metas and the fun part is how they evolve and change. As a fun like unrelated gaming news.
Top Tetris players all around the world are trying out a new discovered way to play the game and many are improving times and breaking new records, right this moment.
That game is ancient and still the meta is changing. Problem with this game is how reluctant the devs are to shake up the game. Instead of saying, use ‘this’ to win, we should have enough meta options to start every conversation with.., “well what kind of player do you want to be? Because Survivors have 4 strong meta options right now that work equally strongly in different aspects of the game.

but...we just got like a handful of useful perks and copy cat builds lol.
Edit: sorry, same point for killer builds. Just gotta word it differently. Killer meta develops more from killer power then diversity of perks.

It currently is a mess beacuse the design team bandaided problems instead of fixing the core issues. Getting tunneled and camped? Run BT and DS and don't complain. Getting predrop-and-W'd? Play one of three killers and don't complain. Playing solo survivor? Run info perks and don't complain. And why aren't you allowed to complain? Because people will always point to the bandaids and say "JuSt UsE tHoSe". It's already happening with Small Game.
Bandaiding problems with perks and/or specific killers is genuinely idiotic game design. It is the absolute worst. It severely limits people's options in a game where variety is one of the key selling points. Sure, it's never going to be perfectly balanced with zero bandaids, but they could at least fix core issues instead of saying "should have used X".

I do agree with that. Solo will never improve until the devs add some base kit features to close the gap

You love to see people saying just use stridor against iron will

Not every match is supposed to be a perfect balance of killer and survivor tools. Different perks, and different killers, bring different things to the table with different strengths.
It's like an RPG, where you might have a build that's strong against magic enemies, but you end up facing a physical boss. Of course that's not balanced, it's not meant to be. You bring your tools for a specific scenario and work around what you end up going against.
The Pig is a good counter to genrushing, but she has awful map pressure and a weak power.
It sounds like you want every killer to be a carbon copy of each other, so that survivors always know what they're going up against. That's over-balance.
"Bandaiding" problems with perks, the customisation system of the game, IS how you create variety. If you solve all of these player behaviour issues on a fundamental level, what else are perks going to be able to do? You'll end up with braindead, watered-down perks that all feel the same.

said it once and ill say it agian, I would love a no perk mode, no nonsense, just skill and strats

I do understand your point however I would like much more creativity in builds. Survivors run dead hard, BT and Dstrike while KIllers use ruin, corrupt, bbq most of the time. If you choose somehing else, you need to be a really good player to not get destroyed.
