DBD a toxic community? Not at all.

Now, I see a lot of people saying that there is a problem with this game because there are so many toxic players. Of course there will always be some. But in my opinion the vast majority of players in this game are nice and honest.

When I play other games, CS:GO, RL etc. I see a lot, and I mean A LOT, more toxicity between players. Both enemies and teammates. It's crazy, really. Makes me miss DBD sometimes <3

So, to all players - killers and survivors. Think about this when you see a toxic player. Most of us are not toxic and just want to have a good time.

Good day to all :)

Yeah, most interactions I've had with other players have, for the most part; been positive.

CS GO average numbers of players playing - 500k (Plus, it is a free game)

    DBD - 30k

In context, they are both equally toxic, only thing why you see more toxic people in CSGO is due to more ability to interact and see the toxicity.

I agree, I never had been harassed for playing DbD, while on CoD, Halo, or Overwatch, it made me quit the multiplayer as it was so unhealthy and stressful.

DbD has a chill community tbh.

Pretty sure the whole DBD is toxic is just a meme that got out of hand and now people who just play the game are called toxic.

this community is toxic, i play many game with Toxic communities and this one is very similar to them (and even worst in some instance)

I'd disagree i've also played pretty much all the major games known for toxic player bases, but I've never been shot in the head or berated by some A-hole over VOIP in DBD sure people can sand bag or tunnel or camp and sure those can be annoying but other then that the only thing people can do is leave a mean message in a post game chat or on my steam profile both of which have easy solutions hell there is even a chat filter now so you cant really even call me anything that could be construed as offensive, though tbh there isnt much in the english lexicon that would offend me to begin with.

I'd also say the majority of my experiences in this game within the community has been fairly positive most of my endgames are just ggs or empty and sometimes nothing but complements sure some are just gonna be people ranting about how you played in some regard but I can just leave a bad rating on their profile and leave.

If you wanna see dbd toxicity just go to the game or go to reddit. That's maybe a example of a toxic community.

Had a demo game not to long ago where I did the worst I've ever done I was going for a daily missed 3 of the easiest shreds of my life got two hooks opened the gate for them and let them leave. They didn't want to leave so we farmed a bit and they all stayed and died to the egc. I'll always remember that SWF fondly. So yes I dare agree i'd say the community is rather nice I've actually not had that many toxic altercations.

Just because it doesn't get to you that doesn't make it not toxic. But what also makes the community a toxic one is not just how they act in game but also how they act outside.

I apprecoate this thread a lot. I've come across more nicer people than toxic people by a large margin. Every community has toxicity, I mean sheesh - the Silent Hill boards had a lot of it, but again it was the minority being vocal.

Also, my definition of toxicity is quite specific. I don't count teabagging or clicking, because if I was trying to distract a killer in real life I too would mock it to pull them away. Toxicity is mostly the salty comments and purposeful griefing. I heard somewhere some consider certain map offerings toxic!! That's just complaining.

If you know what the word toxic means then yes dbd is pretty chill.

If your view on toxic is so skewed that ingame mechanics like slugging or bodyblocking are concidert toxic then dbd is the most toxic game there is

The community is toxic. There are probably communities with more toxity, but there are many games were people are less toxic. I played many games, but most of my toxic messages are from dbd. I disabled messages bc of that and they send friend request with toxic messages. I dont see many toxic players anymore, but i think its because i win most of the time. They cant spam gg ez, when they lose.

I mean if they're a-holes on a forum I wouldn't tack that onto the overall communities image and the forums are all way worse then the game itself I guess because the majority of people who come onto these forums are here to make a complaint.

Also just because it doesn't effect me doesn't mean I cant recognize when someone is being toxic and even by that metric DBD is way more tame then other communities.

i am not saying DBD is the most toxic community, i am saying that it fits the criteria of being a toxic community.

How so, the majority of the community isn't toxic and there aren't really many things that are actually toxic that can be done in game, you cant even swear in the endgame lobbies anymore. If just having a few rude dudes every 10 games or usually more classifies DBD as having a toxic community then I don't know a single online game that doesn't have a toxic community.

I try not to throw around terms like "toxic community" unless it actually represents the majority of my experiences of a game.

The DBD community isn't that bad really, its actually very welcoming, sure there is two level headed sides ( survivors/killers, or both) but that's about it. Although I will say this... The DBD community is a very, thirsty community at best ( if you know what I mean * cough Daddy Myers)

I play this, MK11, and SFV the most right now, and this is the game where I'm most likely to get hate mail. It's about tied with MK11 for teabags (if you consider that toxic). But, as far as graphic hate messages, this game is the top for me.

I've played a lot of online games in my day.

I've never had so many people constantly send me messages or ping me with repeated party invites than this game.

Granted most games online I play are team ones (so less likely someone singles me out to harass) but I've never received so many damn messages or whatnot from any other online game...

its also sad cause in this community people who are consider good players that make smart decisions are toxic sweat lords.

the term "toxic" get used a lot in the wrong way in this community. You are a toxic survivor for running the killer towards killershack, you are a toxic killer if you camp the hook against an over altruistic team that swarms hooks etc.

yeah, the community interactions i have seen have been good, plus, our community is also pretty inteligent. The only toxic thing in our community is entitled survivor posts.

I agree. Compared to something like Overwatch, DBD barely seems toxic at all. Nobody has even threatened to find me in real life and do violent things to me, I mean... tame.

People do send messages/leave profile comments more in my experience, but even then they’re usually more funny than anything.
