You Butchered Claudette, why?
The other to survivor improvements were so good and looked like the originals but polished and cleaner, then you got Claudette who looks nothing like the original she looks so strangeee and you could mistake her for a completely new survivor if it wasn't for her hair or clothes you ruined my poor baby botanist . What are your guys thoughts, specifically Claudette mains, but others are welcome

IMO Claudette is the best out of the three so far. Dwight looks like an entirely new character and IMO deserves polishing (though he's not that bad), and Meg looks pretty good. Old Claudette just looked less natural, and kinda weird tbh.

BHVR won't be able to convince everybody with the survivor model reworks.
You'll see people who hate it and other people who love it .
Everybody has a different taste.

I think it's because it's mainly a huge change. Like people hated and complained about the new survivor poses and injured state, but now I haven't seen anybody say anything about it including the new UI. It takes time for people to adjust to.

Dwight just needs his eyes to look like he hasn't slept in a week and he'll look good again. I agree that Meg and Claud look fine.

In my opinion Claudette looks fine. Subjective, but I think that her changes were subtle and not ruinous. Dwight looks a little too hip and less dorky now, his changes seem the most "extreme". I like the previous version better. I'm really torn on Meg. Her face has been smoothed and she looks more feminine which is cool, but I hate the hair change.

They brightened her default shirt along with Dwight and Meg's, so I'm pretty sure they're trying to make the survivors easier to see.

She does to me, I actually probably wouldn't have noticed much of a change if no one told me that they made one. That's just me though, I'm bummed about Meg's hair so I feel you.

Claudette looks a lot better, especially because they got rid of the dumb facial expression she had before. The new lobby animations are nice to see as well.

The only I don't like is that her facial features are so different from herself, the model itself is a step up, but she doesn't look like Claudette

I think it depends if you play a certain characters or not , if u don't ur fine with the changes, but if u do u will probs hate them

I can guarantee a lot of people still hate it, but are no longer vocal about it because giving feedback and showing your concern has been proven numerous times to be completely pointless, so we're just shutting up about it now because there's no point to it. That's the reason why you're not seeing any discussion around it.

You're not wrong, but I do actually play as Claudette a lot. To be honest I always thought that she was kind of fugly. Now she looks - well, roughly the same to me, but maybe slightly less fugly.
I think this is one that just comes down to personal preference. I don't think you're wrong to see her as butchered, and I'd disappointed for you that you do (it sucks to have negative changes done to characters that we like using), I just don't share the same negative assessment in her specific case.

If these changes are mandatory, isn't that going to kind of waste a lot of the money that people have paid for cosmetics? If I don't like the way that Nea looks, just as an example, I'm not going to buy any cosmetics for her. But I already have, so now that's wasted money - cosmetics that I used to make a character look more appealing, which are now being used on a character that no longer looks appealing.
I mean, how are they actually even going to do that, anyway? Aren't they going to have to go back through and alter every single cosmetic head? Which reiterates my point: I paid money for them because of how they looked, with the expectation that they wouldn't randomly change sometime in the future. Has anyone discussed this?

It's an online game, so it's in the agreement that they can change whatever they want whenever they want and as a player you can't do anything about it, there's no recourse, they keep your money no matter how you feel about it.
I've been unhappy about the change to Kate's hair for a long, long time, ever since it stopped looking like curls in front and was changed to look more like Farrah hair. Sucks.

That does suck, and strikes me as a bit onerous. If you pay real-life money to make a character look a certain way, it's sort of a slap in the face to then arbitrarily decide to change the look later on to something you wouldn't have paid money for.
I understand it, but it's not a very good way to treat people who have paid for in-game extras. That's like a game of Call of Duty charging you ten bucks for a gun and then eventually changing to to hot pink. "But I paid for the gold one". - "Too bad".

Agreed. However, this is precisely why there should be an option for us to play with older models (maps included). In my opinion, if a change is guaranteed to have mixed reactions then we shouldn't be "forced" to go along with it (except balance changes, of course).

Well no, it'd be like if you bought a skin for a gun for $10, and later on they decide to adjust the overall texture quality of the base gun, which by proxy affect any skins it has.
None of the cosmetics in DBD change the Survivor's facial structure. You're buying them for the outfits and hairstyles. They're not changing the outfits you've purchased, they're updating the base model of the character.

Meg's hairstyle has changed, and I've bought two of her heads specifically for their unique hairstyles. I can only assume that they will be reworked to be in line with the new Meg design. If not, and the hairstyles are completely separate pieces that can just be "popped off" of the default head and slapped onto the newly designed character's head, then that's fine. I don't, however, imagine that it will go that way.
Additionally, it goes further than just the literal "the outfits will be left untouched", which remains to be seen. The person who made this post is very disappointed in Claudette, for example, so he's probably less likely to but a bunch of Claudette outfits.
If, for example, I loved using a character because of their appearance, then bought a bunch of cosmetics for them because their appearance helped to make them a favored character, then changing that character's appearance in a way that I find much less appealing will make me want to use that character less, and therefore render that cosmetic money wasted.

Well, maps are 100% out of the question.
I guess it would be nice to have an option to chose between new and old models but i'm extremely sure that this won't happen.
Just look at the UI for example.
If BHVR decides to change things like this then they will stick to it.If people like it or not doesn't matter too much here.

Some people just don't like change. I think all of the updated characters look so much better.

Some people just don't like change, that's true, but some people also just don't like bad changes. I can see objective arguments as to why Dwight's changes are worse (he looks less like someone who would be bullied now, he looks more handsome and "cool") and Meg's hair is messier and didn't need to be lightened, she's the only redhead and we already have multiple blondes in the game.

New Claudette is hideous. She has been my girl and my favorite. I've mained her for almost 3 years now. I can't play her anymore. I need to find a new survivor. She was always such a cutie pie and I loved her.

Nope. A lot of people hate the kate rework. She’s my main and I think they did a great job. Same as Claudette. She used to be my main and I still play her a bit, but her hair looks so much better now, as well as the other things they’ve tweaked.
No one’s really mentioned jake, I think out of all of them, he’s one of the ones that looks significantly different from how he used to. Though those that have mentioned him, think he looks good.
People have their own personal opinions though and not everyone’s going to be happy.

The head I have on her (High-Pitched Dreads from Karaoke Time) doesn't have any makeup anymore so it looks a little odd. But it's the only one I actually like. But I don't like it as much as the old one because of that. 😭
