Apparently, you can use hacks on the windows store version.
Hi everyone, I was playing a pyramid head match on badham preschool, everything was going normal, until they got to the last gen. This guy with No Mither (at this point no mither's basically the cheater's perk there are so many cheaters using no mither) started lag switching heavily, even when I managed to hit him, he got up instantly, he could also block me with a fake hitbox mid-chase . I've never seen anything like that before. At the end game chat he denied everything of course, but then two guys told me that he was also speedhacking and he escaped first try on hook (yes it is a cheat). Unfortunately I do not have the name of the cheater, but we all reported him. That's kinda sad that people still cheat in a casual game like dbd but whatever I'll move on. So BHVR if you're reading this, we have a cheating problem also on windows store.
PS: I'm 100% sure he was on windows store because he had the crossplay icon and he could talk in end game chat.

I sort of hope the game goes F2P like Deathgarden just so I can witness it get absolutely demolished by cheaters and bots.
Maybe then the devs will consider a better anti-cheat or a report system that doesn't require a full 5-page essay and autobiography.

Be honest, how many hackers / bots do you actually see? Personally I've seen it once that's actually obvious, and the times you didn't notice you probably shrugged it off as being "dedicated servers" because those problems happen like x10 as often.

If this game went F2P and got assaulted by hackers. I don't think BHVR would fix it. I think they would say "Pretty good job so far" and try to make another game.

BHVR can't and doesn't want to deal with any cheaters. DbD itself has no any kind of anti-cheat protection within the game, they use an external program "Easy Anti-Cheat" for that. So yeah, unless EAC starts detecting the cheaters or they change their anti-cheat software, nothing will change, and the devs won't even try to make their own anti-cheating software (imagine the blood-curdling horrors that would spread if they did).

Not to necro this thread but I'm genuinely beginning to feel that hacking is very much easily do-able through the windows store.. The only player I've queued into this year, or at least to my knowledge anyway(?) who was a windows store player was versus a pig and well, we couldn't remove the party hats. We were getting 0 progress on the boxes when trying to remove them and the only time we got progress on the party boxes were when we landed great skill checks, which means you would easily there for 2 minutes + and were 100% guaranteed to die when a gen popped. (no i didn't record the match but I did report it!)
Hope they'll do something about making sure they have a readily available anti-cheat to prevent the lag switching among other things which are cropping up lately.
