Hello there, i'd like to ask your opnions on the Best Perk Build for Spirit.

I've been making builds for every killer in an attempt to maximize their efficiency, but im having some troubles with Spirit, i cant seem to find the Perfect build for her, so i came here to ask for help.

Please restrict the suggestions to Perks only, no addons and no offerings for a Spirit played at Rank 1 without headphones.

Feel free to explain strategies with the build and also tell us why it is the BEST for her.

Predator- you said you were playing without headphones so sound becomes infinitely less reliable. scratch marks become your next best bet, and predator can help to make it a lot easier to track. be very careful of sound still, though, as it's still your most valuable tool.

Hex: Ruin- it's the best slowdown perk in dbd

Hex: Undying- your ruin lasts 30 seconds instead of 20

Thrilling Tremours- bbq but better (without the bloodpoint boost)

    Main strategy:

    1) Phase

    2) Hit someone post-phase

    3) Repeat 1&2 until down

    4) Hook survivor

    5) Go to generator not blocked by TT

    6) Let Ruin do it's work

    7) Repeat steps 1-6 until 4 survivors are dead.

Well, i've used the first 3 perks several times, but i've never tried using TT on her, i guess i should, thanks for the tips.

I actually never tried Thrilling Tremours on her, thanks for the insight!

If you're not using headphones I wouldn't even play her.

That's like asking for a Trapper build where you don't use traps. It doesn't make any sense.

Good headphones and stridor. That’s all you need to 4k every game

So, you are saying that Spirit is trash tier and a headphone is mandatory if you want to make her viable? That doesnt make any sense to me.

My comp/tournament build on Spirit is Corrupt/Ruin/Haunted/Devour or Corrupt/Ruin/Haunted/NOED.

Tracking perks don't actually do anything. I only run them if I'm in a regular match and don't want to think too hard. Game sense = tracking perks.

No headphone Spirit is.......... a flex.

Well, you won't be hearing subtle sounds like footsteps, so Whispers is basically mandatory for you because of Iron Will. You'll get hate for it in endgame chat, but you're a Spirit with presumably bad audio, so yeah.

The objectively best perks remaining would be corrupt intervention, ruin, pop.

If you want a more unique style that can also be hilariously effective and downright evil, try ruin undying Haunted.

Ruin/Undying/Devour Hope/Thrill Of The Hunt. Sounds like a gimmicky Hex build, but because Undying is guaranteed to go first it's really, really consistent and really, really strong. Thrill tells you exactly where they are and lets you contest the totems, Undying means you can give one totem up for the sake of map pressure, Devour Hope is a massive powerspike, Ruin is arguably Spirit's best slowdown.

Or, if you want a tried and tested build, Sloppy/Corrupt/Pop/Stridor. More of a learning build than a playing build. It's the basic, strong Spirit build. Nothing special, just phase on top of people with Stridor and slow the game down massively with everything else.

Hey, i tried it and this was the result on the first attempt:

Its not too fair tho, it was on the hospital lol 🤣

Yo i just combined your suggestions and now im being really successful with her, you guys really helped, thanks!

    Final Build:

    • Thrilling Tremors
    • Ruin
    • Undying
    • Whispers

Out of 10 matches, only 1 of them had 2 survivors escaping, it was a full Rank 1 TOXIC CWF that sent me to Badhams and broke my totems within 1 minute, they gen rushed me, but at least i mannaged to hook everyone twice and got 2 kills.

In general the build is pretty strong, but if u are constantly getting gen rushed i'd suggest to use NOED instead of Whispers.

On spirit I like to run

    • Hex: Ruin
    • Pop Goes the Weasel
    • BBQ and Chili
    • A Nurse's Calling

Ruin is excellent for early/mid game gen regression (especially after phasing to a gen with survs on it), but it won't stay up for most of the game, even with undying. Pop is a substitute for the mid/late game after ruin is gone, and helps with protecting priority gens that have decent progress. I personally pick BBQ over thrilling because it lets me know where to phase over to after a hook, since it shows where survivors are healing, cleansing, and which gens they are heading to rather than which ones are being worked on - and it shows which gens have multiple survivors on it. Nurse's is pretty good, but I also swap it out for another slot sometimes. Its aura range goes beyond the 24m terror radius, and it's helped me get some easy downs by being able to phase to people healing in a corner / behind walls / at a pallet, alongside getting free hits on people healing under a hook. All the addons are good, but I use the green bloody hair brooch and katsumori talisman (charge time and duration addons) for being able to catch up to survivors easier and also phasing to the other side of a loop quicker.

stridor- a scummy perk but thats why its meta on spirit

pgtw/ruin- preferably ruin cuz spirit is a lot better when it comes to map pressure

    corrupt intervention- strong early game

thrilling tremors- this perk works better if you have pgtw instead of ruin

In what way they were toxic? Because they used a map offering while you were asking us for strong builds for a meta killer?

    Pot and kettle.

As for your builds, any combinations of slowdown plus snowball are fine. She doesn't need anything else and in pub games you can freely use fun combos as well.

Well, i've already used the first 3 perks several times, but i've never tested TT on her, i guess i should, thanks for the tips!

This is what a TOXIC CWF looks like:

    Fun.jpg

They were flashlighting me at every corner and at same time from many directions, bodyblocking me all the way to the hooks, gen rushing, blocking my hits on injured survivors, trying to DS me on lockers or recovering up with Unbreakable, jumping into lockers so others could flashlight me no matter what, tea bags and pointing at every pallets...

  • Member Posts: 22,888

if you got a 32k point 4k they were not genrushing you.

  • Member Posts: 459

Yes they were trying to, but i did my best to try and stop them even after they broke both my totems.

  • Member Posts: 22,888

trying to genrush =/= actually genrushing.

on a different note, bodyblocking for other survivors isn't toxic, and neither is using your perks (unbreakable/ds). i get it can be tilting but you got a 32k point 4k, using ruin/undying as one of the best killers in the game. forgive me if im less than sympathetic.

You literally won....and got a perfect game

    No way were they genrushing

  • Member Posts: 3,452

That's not the team you referenced originally. I suppose it didn't fit your narrative.

  • Member Posts: 459

Its not the same, but they played similarly, all 4 were Rank 1, blocked me, flashlighted me, had almost the exact perk builds as in the screenshot and so on...
