Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

What makes Oni more fun than Plague

Both are snowball killers who inflict harm on survivors to get a quick burst of massive power, but one is one of the most fun killers in the game and the other is pretty meh. What makes them that different?

With oni, you feel powerful and its also fun running with your power.

With plague, once everyone is infected, its pretty much a legion that already injured everybody. Boring gameplay.

With Oni you feel like an almighty god that can not be stopped if given the opportunity to snowball unless they have unbreakable smh

With Plague, I honestly feel that she is fun and people underestimate her. She can also snowball very quickly and is actually somewhat fun to play.

I'd say because you have more control over your power when you play Oni. For Plague, it's the survivor that choose whether you become a ranged killer (if they cleanse some where convenient and not across the map) or just NoED simulator 2021.

Because Oni has control of his power.

Yes, he needs to land 1 hit. That's it. A simple requirement that can easily be met provided you're good enough. It's determined by your skill and not the survivors.

Plague is the opposite. Sure, INFECTING people is easy enough. Being able to get your Corrupt Purge? Not up to you. You're at the mercy of survivors deciding to cleanse. But if they do or you use your 1 default fountain? You can completely lose it by getting stunned by a pallet.

Besides Oni's sheer presence? Probably the mobility. You can be anywhere on the map in no time. People are scared of you and rightfully so.

Plague's pretty fun, though. You close in on a gen with multiple survivors and Corrupt Purge, and whoo boy. Nothing like getting two downs in one spray. Or laying down an entire team of tbaggers at an exit gate. You maybe don't have that same sense of inherent might as you get with Oni, but she handles a lot easier, and you can pull some scary shots with practice. Just don't let anyone drop a pallet on you.

Plagues playstyle isn't really dynamic in my opinion.

    >You try to get everyone infected

    >They either don't cleanse and turn you into a M1 killer depending on how bad your one free corrupt fontain spawned

    >Or they do cleanse and you get your power frequently which makes the game more fun for you obviously

Going to most fontains to get your power just feels clunky, similiar to Trapper.

There aren't any real cool plays you can make with Plague other than maybe get a hit with your corrupt purge through a small hole/gap.

Dedicated servers can be pretty frustrating to deal with as Plague.

Oni however has a lot more control over his power than Plague does.

There are a ton of cool plays you can do with his power.

Plague could be a lot more fun if getting your corrupt purge from the fontains wouldn't be so clunky/awkward

Oni is a roaring beast that charges around the map, screaming and bonking people. His power is achieved through normal gameplay so you don’t really have to do anything that disrupts your flow.

Plague pukes on survivors (gross), has to wait for them to allow her access to her power (boring), and then just walks around after them at normal speed. She has to go and collect her secondary power which annoying, her puke is unintuitive and difficult to control, and it’s just a different variant of puke so it’s still gross.

I don’t think Plague is that bad or anything but she just doesn’t feel as fun to play.

Oni ain't fun against swf sweat squads. I learned that twice last night for the first time. He's good fun but also relies on survivors making mistakes. You can't hit them if they are hugging a very tight perimeter, only those that are in the open or get in your way get put in your sandwich.
