So, what's the point of Freddy inflicting oblivious?

Oblivious does two things: (1) makes survivors not hear the terror radius, allowing the killer some limited stealth, and (2) makes that survivor immune to/unable to use perks that depend on being in the terror radius.

Freddy never got any use out of the first effect; dreaming survivors hear his lullaby instead, and from the same distance. So it literally just changes the sound. No stealth for Freddy.

That leaves the TR based perks. The most relevant one is Borrowed Time, which is now being buffed to activate regardless of the TR. Bypassing this made Oblivious useful for Freddy, but that's gone. Freddy isn't able to reliably use any of the perks that make the TR into a weapon, like unnerving presence, Starstruck or Infectious Fright. That means oblivious actually weakens him. All that's left is Stake Out and Diversion, which are mostly irrelevant.

So Freddy gets nothing out of the oblivious status, except that it nerfs him. Why? What's it for?

And keep in mind, other debuffs that come from his add ons aren't a part of oblivious.

I think this was done so that the music of the terror radius does not overlap with the music of the lullaby))

The lullaby is omnidirectional and it stays at its loudest when he’s like 20 meters next to you so it’s very hard to tell which direction he’s coming from.

It’s to his own benefit as it makes him hard to pin down, especially in maps with lots of line of sight blockers. With object getting nerf’d honestly oblivious will strictly be for his own advantage now. Although it’s not every match you see object anyway and it has countered borrowed time for a very long time which it really shouldn’t have.

I mean when survivors are in the Dreamworld and inflicting with the Oblivious status they only hear his Lullaby when in range but it's not directional.

Meaning you know he's in your area or near you but you can't pinpoint where he is exactly giving him some type of an advantage to sneaking up on hiding survivors that can't pinpoint where he's coming from giving him a free hit.

It's kinda like Huntress... You hear her Lullaby but you can't tell where she's coming from so you basically end up running into her most of the time.

But I have no clue why the Devs buff BT... A meta perk that was already pretty strong. I feel like they did it as another nerf to Freddy but accidentally indirectly nerfed all Stealth killers without thinking.

I dont thinks its an accidentally nerf for stealth killer. Stealth killer had the same problem. They could camp without BT. The devs wanted to address that for all camper not only for freddy.

Did you know that the oblivious effect will not let you see other survivors? 😃

BT was buffed because it wouldn't trigger against stealth killers.
