What's the saddest scene you've ever watched from any show/movie/game?
Comments
-
Red dead redemption 2’s ending. First video game to make me cry
2 -
when natakas from assassins creed odyssey and kassandra had to give up her child for him to be safe.
1 -
OMG me too, never cried so hard 😪
2 -
TLOU2 ending

The saddest scene I can think of from any game is the vision Ethan has with Jack Baker in Resident Evil 7.
Seeing the guy who just tried to kill you breakdown and beg you to free his family is just so damn sad. It's even worse when you realize the reason he was infected in the first place was because he was only trying to help people.

Subnautica... because you have to say goodbye to this little fella:
He is literally your only friend.
4 -
The sad scene that I ever experience was when you play Kingdom Hearts HD Dream Drop Distance you see sad parts in deep of Sora's hearts with his nobodies Roxas, Xion, and Ventus and then Sora goes to in a deep slumber.
1 -
Subnautica is a surprisingly sad and scary game.
Definitely was one of my favorite survival games.
1 -
From a game? I can't think of any that have made me sad, atleast none that have stuck out enough for me to remember.
From movie? The swamp scene in Neverending Story is first to come to mind.
From TV? End of Jurassic Bark episode of Futurama. I can't watch any Futurama after that because I start thinking about that scene and get depressed.
2 -
Cobra Kai season 2 finale had me tear up.

Some that always get me are: The balcony scene from A Silent Voice, the ending scene of Angels of Death, a couple of scenes in Erased, the Carl and Ellie scene from Up, the ending of The walking dead season one game, and plenty more I can't seem to think of at the moment.

The movie Requiem For a Dream. Especially the ending. Great movie, but it's rough.
RDR2's ending for games. Even got it spoiled for me in advance, but it was still great.

Gears of War: any time Dom is onscreen.
0 -
Silent Hill 2 with most of the final parts building beautifully to that final letter being read by Mary. That was quite an experience.
3 -
Eh that part didn't make me cry personally or have any emotion about the ending i was just: "Oh ok"
I've cried 3 times about a game/show in my whole life
The ending of the walking dead season 1 and the final season (The game)
And the "death" of the going merry, These 3 scenes legit BROKE me
0 -
It didn't make me cry neither, but it was one of the saddest or emotive moments I've experienced because the story resonated with me (no, I didn't kill my wife).
Can't genuinely remember the last time I cried, honestly! That's not a brag though, not by a long shot. It's probably a good idea I do someday. 😁

When I missed my DS at the exit gate.
3 -
When Sophia came walking out the barn.
3 -
The end of "The Outsiders" when I was a young person reading it for the first time. Poor Johnny!
4 -
Pretty much all of Johnny Got His Gun.
2 -
Gears of War Dom death always gets me, and Mary's letter from Silent Hill, both incredibly sad.
1 -
Definitely Mufasas death (https://latenightstreaming.com/en-uk/movie/the-lion-king). In the new film it's even harder
0 -
Shame most people (me included) can't play it
cause, you know, this guy exists
and this guy
and ESPECIALLY this guy
2 -
The Void in that game scared the living hell out of me.
And the funny part was; I was in Creative Mode so the Ghost Reapers couldn't even attack me.
1 -
Now imagine if entering the Void began playing this song

if you have nightmares tonight then blame me
Edit: Also, Ghost Reapers is the name you gave the adult Ghosts? i approve

The final episode of stranger things season 3

I can't tell if that music would make it calmer, scarier, or just be a mixture of eerie slow dread. I'm inclined to think the ladder.
Also yeah, for some reason I've always called Ghost Leviathans "Ghost Reapers".
1 -
For context, that music i showed plays in a area very similar to the Void, it's at the bottom of a biome called the Abyss, there is nothing down there, only a small shrine with a item that lets you access the hardest challenge in the game, some unique enemies and guaranteed spawns for all 3 of the biome's minibosses, one of which is essentially the Ghost Leviathan if it has psychic powers
I've only been that deep one time, haven't had the guts to go back to that god-forsaken place
1 -
Huh, I didn't even know a place called the Abyss existed. That sounds like literal hell though, so it's probably a good thing I didn't know about it.
1 -
Abyss - Official Calamity Mod Wiki (fandom.com)
Here's it's wiki entry, it isn't literal hell, but only because hell actually exists in this game, it's far, FAR worse
1 -
Oh so it's from a mod? That explains why I haven't heard of it.
Dare I ask, what IS hell in this game?
1 -
Do you want what's in the base game or in the mod specifically?
Because if you ask about the mod, fair warning, you will be reading for QUITE a while
1 -
Nah I'm fine with knowing what "hell" is in the base game.
1 -
Well, it's Hell, it's the final layer of the world that you reach by digging about 650-1300 blocks downwards depending on your world's size, it's home to what you would except, 2 types of demons, 2 types of bat, a imp that teleports and shoots fireballs, a bone snake that burrows through the ground and charges at you, a boss that you are required to fight in order to access the 2nd half of the game, houses made from 2 different types of brick and contain several types of furniture (including my favourite base-game bed design), a upgraded furnace, and chests with unique loot
Honestly glad you only asked about base game Hell, because i would rather not be typing for the next half hour about all of the stuff in the mod (it's the largest in the game's history by a very sizeable margin)
1 -
The intro to The Last of Us was pretty brutal.
2 -
I'm not sure which scene from the movies and series I've seen is the saddest, really, but the first one that pops into my head when the question is asked is Now and Then, Here and There, Episode 11, after Sara finds out she's pregnant.
1 -
I feel very dumb right now. Are we still talking about Subnautica? Because I don't remember there ever being imps or demons in the game.
1 -
at this point we are talking about a completely different game lol
1 -
I kinda have a three way tie.
First answer is, weirdly enough, The Shining. Watch the part where Jack freezes to death, but with the subtitles on.
He's crying, singing, begging for his family to forgive him and come back for him. He knows he's dying, and that no one will ever come to save him after what he did.
Second answer is Jack Stauber's Opal. I want you to watch the whole thing. It's the only way to get the full effect. It's on Youtube, and it's only 14 minutes. It has an amazing story and some awesome music.
"We see you, Opal, your troubles are miles away We see you, Opal And in our eyes you'll stay..."
Third answer is The Town With No Name's ending.
Brings me to tears every time.
0 -
Yeah I thought so. What game are we talking about exactly? It sounds kinda like Terraria.
0 -
you are right on the money
1 -
Yeah, I thought so.
Honestly, I have literally no idea when this conversation switched to being about Terraria. I thought we were talking about Subnautica up until you told me what hell was.
1 -
i think it shifted when i mentioned that the Abyss from the mod i showed ya is worse then actual literal hell and it just sort of spiralled from there XD
1 -
I thought the Abyss mod was for Subnautica because I didn't bother to read the full page...
I question my intelligence sometimes.

Happens to the best of us :)
1 -
It's safe to say The Lion King I was inconsolable when I first saw it in the theater as a kid (everyone knows which scene)... very close second is the end to Death Note's last live action movie, L: Save the World... I had the heckin waterworks.
1 -
For some reason I am only scared of the reaper, the other two are just not nearly as creepy looking to me lol
1 -
To be fair the Reaper tends to make a bigger impression on people, given that it's usually the first leviathan people find/die to
1 -
Lisa Garlands realization and transformation in Silent Hill 1... Cybils fate in the Silent Hill movie is also really sad.
0 -
Nothing made me cry more as a kid than the mew vs mew 2 pokemon movie.
Anyone that's watched it knows exactly which scene I'm talking about lol. 😭😭😭
