Detective's Hunch
With the Small Game change going through, is there any reason to take Detective's Hunch now?
There are better options for locating totems, chests, and gens.
Nobody is actively looking for all 3.
I'm serious. How often do you think, "Now once I've done this gen, I'll need to prepare Inner Strength, check if the chest has any good items, then figure out which gen to do on Gideon Meat."
What's the point of this perk now?

detectives is still pretty sweet for showing you exactly where totems are before you even get there, and with map/crystal bead you can also show the rest of your team.
Still seems it would be the better choice in most circumstances for SWF, but the totem counter for small game might be more useful solo

Detectives hunch is still better imo since it shows potential 3 gens to avoid and gives me all totem locations at once pretty much

DsH is an overall amazing perk. An unchecked Hex totem can derail most games by itself. Is that a reason to run a totem tracking perk? In a team setting, sure. In a SQ build perk slots are much more valuable.
I run DsH in most of my games bc even when no hex perks are in play, it can easily help me find and break possible 3 gens, find chests in hatch games, or just waste less time looking for gens in indoor maps. Much more versatile than Small Game ever could.

The update to Small Game is very nice, but I still see Detective's Hunch as quite viable still. Its been invaluable to me in both solo and SWF matches. And yes, granted, perks like Small Game and Plunderer's Instinct are not reliant on a gen popping to give you information, but I personally don't mind the small caveat to DsH to get 3 for 1 (sometimes I do, and will switch my loadout accordingly lol)

detectives is way better, still.
Makes you doing the main objective first, it supports correct gameplay.
You see multiple totems and you can run directly to them without wasting any time.
You know if there is a critical 3/4 gen
+ it helps with inner strenght and doing so it increases your effency level
Always remember: The more information you got in a match, the stronger you can be in dbd. Informations are everything in dbd. The other important thing is to use this information wisely.

Especially if you have a map since they're all recorded on the map then.

detectives hunch is still better than small game on so many levels. lets say youre injured and you do a gen, its gonna show you a chest where it might give you a medkit. lets say youre looking for a hex or you have inner strength, you do the gen and then go to a random totem that your detectives hunch shows. lets say youre worried about a 3 gen, you do any gen and then go to the farthest gen which is gonna prevent 3 gen situations. seriously, detectives hunch is so good for getting rid of perks like undying or ruin cuz it shows you the exact locations of multiple totems instead of just one notification which usually isnt even that accurate. maybe small game would be on par with detectives hunch if it increased totem cleansing speed by 50-100%

I probably just don't see the benefit of the Perk as much. I have played for a long time and have memorised most object locations.
I do hate the Small Game change though. I wish I could have a long chat with whoever decided this change was the most suitable.
