Empty maps???
Is it me or are the maps becoming empty ? I feel like I’m run around and see just dead zones everywhere, are tiles and loops being removed or am I going mad ? Lol I don’t expect a tile every meter or a pallet every 5 steps but give us something to work with lol it’s either a area with nothing mayb a gen in a open area with 2 trees and some rocks

It's come to the point where if I see a bunch of trees, I stay away from them cause I know it's gonna have no windows or pallets. It's really bad.

Huge part of the reason i dislike these map reworks, not only do i think the old maps look better but even gameplaywise the reworked ones are absolutely terrible.

I’ve been thinking the same lately. I get that there can’t be too many strong loops to give the killers a fair chance, but there’s so many dead zones and pallets with barely any debris surrounding it that it feels like you have to run back to shack 10 times a game.

Least it’s not just me thst thinks this, instead of reworking they are just removing things making the maps empty and putting a new skin on it

With the exception of the Game every map seems to be massive dead zones anymore.

Really? I had exactly the opposite experience in the new cornfields. I loved all the terrain allowing me to hide and lose the Killer. Not everything has to be an endless loop from tile to tile. The new maps force a mixed approach of immersion and looping, which isn't a bad thing.

I had a game on the new cold wind map where on one half the map there was literally 2 pallets. And they got broke early game...

Not at all I’m not asking for long loops, I sometimes do like to play stealth aswell, not just run the killer, even debris to hide behind little things are being removed, tiles & debris I have no screenshots to hand but I had a game yesterday we’re one gen spawned in a corner with literally a tree and all around it nothing ran for at least 2 tiles it was just random trees the odd tire stack and fire barrels with just nothing near it at all, I’m for maps changing in the ways the tiles are not the same exact same every single game it gives variety but I’m just noticeing a lot more areas of the maps which are empty areas

The new coldwind maps are literally a ranged killer counter. Literally los blockers everywhere now. So hey if you get coldwind at least ranged killers are pretty much useless on those now.

I've been playing Trickster on it, and it's a serious problem on him. Can't hit your knives through most loops. Can't needlethread hit people in pretty much any loop now, and it's just been a big bummer not going to lie. Can barely even knife curve either.

Well, I'll hold off judgement until I get at least ten more games in on those Coldwind maps. So far all the ones I've had were so full of terrain that it was impossible to run in a straight line in some areas of the map. :) I might have just been getting good spawns. I'll give you another review in a few days.

I didn't have much a problem on coldwind before. I was able to needle thread and knife curve most loops. Now I can't.

Ah yes, instead of dead zones we got breakable walls making the map suck instead.

I agree. If you're not going to give resources such as pallets to work with, at least put a T L wall there or god forbid... a Z wall for survivors to work with.

I agree maps are getting empty with less and less pallets with every update. Autohavens is notorious for having large areas with nothing and it is unbalanced for killer to have a free down. Something is bad wrong or it is purposely set to put in deadzones on maps. A gen should never be in the middle of a large deadzone, making it impossible to work on against a 1-shot killer.

Literally I was running a rock the other day a rock because there was nothing 🤣🤣 but trees I got round it twice and died but hey I tried lol

@Sluzzy i don’t kno if it’s intentional but I feel like they are shadow nerfing surviour loops or resources & acting like there not when evey update literally the maps are becoming more and more empty, i find myself sometimes just giving up mid chase Because I’m literally ina area where death is going to happen I may aswell take it now like a champ lol

@Sup3rCatTree i believe that’s true 😂 auto haven yday with my mate I counted the pallets... one in the big building next to the gen, one behind it as you run out the back building, one in the middle of the map , shack and there was a gym in the corner of the map besides that nothing there wasn’t even spawnable tiles for pallets , t n l or tree tree rock, car loop ontop a barrel with no spawnable pallet, tyres into broken crap with no pallet just straight death oh and 100 million hooks around the area but not a pallet in sight .... bhvr why do you hate us surviours 😂

I think whomever maintains Gideon meat plant(The Game) is stealing all the pallets from other maps for themselves!
But ya I think we might be seeing a pallet shortage due to the devs over compensating for how bad the Gideon meat plant's insane amount of pallets after the rework was received(And justly so for having over double the average amount of pallets).
As the devs seem to be stuck in one extreme or the other(Too many pallets or too little) currently for maps.

I wish they would even just give us some unsafe pallets like the ones on Ormond rather than leave us with complete dead zones. Even as killer I’ve noticed most survivors are just resorting to the hold W strat which is boring for both sides. I would rather mindgame somebody at a pallet than hold W because the survivor has nothing to work with.

I personally haven't experienced these deadzones myself yet when playing survivor.
But I am sure the number of pallets that spawn on average on these reworked maps are slightly reduced. I do wish they wouldn't reduce the amount of pallets but instead rework more of the pallet loops to make them less safe, so they can be mindgamed by both sides. This way survivors would less likely end up with no pallets and thus always have some form of counterplay, but at the same time killers also had some counterplay because they could actually mindgame those pallets.
Badham is a fairly good example when ignoring how strong and safe the main buildings are.

I did not play on the new farm maps yet, but i think the problem could be that almost every pallet on farm maps was safe. Looping in a farm map was braindead bc it was just waiting until you have no pallets left. So i would prefer many weak pallets instead of only a few strong.
