Resident evil 8 will join the game and not a older title, here is why
Firstly in the announcement trailer we see that the survivor is a man who the face is not shown. Who else is a men in resident evil 7 and 8? Ethan and we don't know how he looks in resident evil 7.
Also, he is the main character in the newest game, why would behavior use a older monster and survivor when they can collapse with the newest one.

Well, it's a charm which all characters will be able to wear, it clearly shows the charm is a bonus from buying the full DLC from the store.

The man on the hook is Felix. He's wearing Felix's clothing, and his screams are identical to Felix's. There's no two ways about it.
More likely, it was done that way just so fans of DBD would recognise it instantly. Remember that the announcement trailer was in the Resident Evil showcase, not a Dead by Daylight one.
People are looking too much into this. They're not going to be giving any hints over two months before the Chapter releases. The Chapter showcase is on May 25th (three weeks from now), so we can sit tight until then.

Re8 will be the greatest success of the franchise. Having one of the character in DbD is pure marketting genius.

Those old school stubborn ppl u say are the ones who kept this title alive for 25 years and re1&re2 and re4 are the reason those games are where they are rn imagine adding character we haven't even seen face to over original iconic characters like Leon, Claire, Jill or Chris and Ada

RE3 (1999) has sold 3.57 million copies as of 2021. RE3 Remake (2020) has sold 3.6 million.
Let's look at other some figures.
- Code Veronica (2000), across all its versions, has sold 2.9 million total.
- RE0 (2002) only sold 1.25 million. It wasn't until its remaster in 2016 that it sold a further 2.8 million.
- REmake (2002) sold 1.35 million, and again had to wait over a decade until its remaster in 2014 (PS3) and 2015 (PC) before it would beat RE3 at 5.33 million.
- The Outbreak pair of games (2003 and 2004) only sold 1.66 million.
- The Chronicles games (2007 and 2009) sold 1.45 million.
- Revelations, even with its remasters to console and PC, has only sold 2.9 million to this day.
- Revelations 2 has sold 2.7 million
Saying RE3 (either one) has the worst sales in RE history is blatantly untrue. I didn't even count the DS Survivor games or the Mercenaries and Operation Raccoon City spin off titles.

That fact it sold so many 22 years ago is a huge feat in and of itself, gaming is on the up and up and had basically just started then, looking at sales of a game from 1999 and now doesn't prove anything, i don't understand their point lol.

I'm sure 99% of ppl would be intrested more in older resident evil titles in dbd apart from fact re8 is just coming out it won't bring all new players it will remain same fans who play the game and I doubt they will give rights to very recent game that just is about to come out this Friday

Re3 did just fine for 90's no point there it was time with very few first consoles and pc's and it did great for that time re4 outsold every other game too and is made in 2004 when ps2 was a thing

You said that RE3 had the worst sale figures in series history. That's straight up false, no matter how you put it. The quality of the other games below it is irrelevant.
Edit: Also, Nemesis and Jill are arguably the two most iconic characters of the series. I'd wager only Leon comes close.
Not to mention Nemesis has already featured in several gaming crossovers in the past. Why would they do that if they didn't figure his game wouldn't be 'recognisable enough' or whatever?

Resident evil 3 remake has nothing to do with original game they changed everything good from it it's playable not nearly as good as orginal I agree about that, if they are going to go by your logic they will either go for re4 or re6 two most sold out games in franchise but I think they won't because lincesed chapters are all classics and I'm 100% sure they will go for it

Yeah that was so sad for RE3... I don't know about the "classics" tho. Silent Hill is a dead franchise, they took PH and Heather cause that sells. And that's all we got from Game X Game collab example.. Everything is possible.

The survivor in the teaser trailer is Felix. The Umbrella ‘logo’ that falls to the ground isn’t the logo, it’s the upcoming charm. It’s in the teaser to well, tease, that it’s an upcoming charm.

Calling it now, survivors will be Claire and Leon, killer will be Mr X. Seems like the most obvious choices since the RE2 remake was a lot more popular than 3.

No way capcom would lend out assets before their game released (as in bhvr has been working on this chapter for a while now). No way re8 is the chapter (maybe a chapter reduced down the road though).
It'd be a much safer play to do older content that's universally liked rather than new content tbh

IF they're gonna only release only one Killer, Nemesis and Mr. X are the most plausible choices.
BUT if they're doing TWO Killers, Lady Dimitrescu could definitely be the second choice.

It makes no sense to bring a newer RE character into DBD. It would be a missed opportunity and some say for marketing but why does a game that's been out for a month already need marketing? This is also the 25th anniversary collabing with DBD. Not just any RE collaboration.

Regardless of the success of the current game it just is true that old re games are some of the most popular ones (1-4) and culturally relevant.
I'm sure RE8 will be really good but it would be risky for capcom and bhvr to put their money on a game that hasn't released yet.

The devs already said in streams they are big fans of these earlier horror games..
They were teens/in 20s playing them back then.. so i think the chapter will be based on the classic games. So yeah

Id be cautious on assuming this will be the best. A lot of people were expecting re6 would be the best game they released for very similar reasons (included well liked characters, popular mechanics used in previous games, etc) as why people are excited for re8 and we all know how re6 was received:/

I’ve been playing Resident Evil since it was new (well… 1997) and have played everything since. None of them have topped RE2 so I would be a bit surprised if they used a killer from any of the others, much less from the most recent game that hasn’t gained a reputation yet.

The absolute delusion people have that it'll be a RE8 related RE chapter is just mind boggling to the point that it's driving me mad that people have the audacity to even remotely THINK it's Lady D or any of her literal throwaway 15 minutes of fame sub bosses. There's not a single doubt in my mind that people who LEGIT think it's anything from 7 or 8 are either VERY new to the series and are following a fad because zoowie mama big booba or are just not on the same page with how licensed killers work and how we've received material correlating to the legacy of that particular dlc.
I will aggressively die on this hill shouting "It's not Lady D, It's not RE 8 and it most certainly won't be one of bananafly sisters."
The scream could very well just be a stock sound effect for all we know, I don't remember RE directly referencing another game like that ever, so this is getting chalked up as a coincidence more so than a reference. And again, if you'd play the game there'd be a good reason why you hear "Female scream 1" in the castle.
I'm just going to stop looking at any thread mentions of RE chapter until the actual reveal stream is out, just so i can crawl back up from the depths of my cave to bump a thread and scream I TOLD YOU SO from the bottom of my lungs and feel slightly superior for a fleeting moment.

If they want to bring in long term resident evil fans then a killer from the new game would be very disappointing tbh. They need nemesis or Mr X, or just someone nostalgic that's iconic resident evil when you think back over the years of playing the game.
