I was expecting this to be a post about how muted and washed out the colors and textures are and how that affects people, like myself, during gameplay, and was gonna suggest options to help you, but sadly it was just a ######### joke about how bright the new coldwind farm maps are...
Sigh... My advice/insight for people who actually have vision impediments, again like myself, is obviously wasted here.

Rather too bright than too dark to be honest.

My eyes are terrible. I have keratoconus in one eye and an astigmatism in the other. What that means is, for me, my depth perception is pretty much fubar, and looking at anything is like looking through a drop of water: Lots of light beams refracting from objects and obscuring my vision. I even have corrective glasses, but they do little against the light beams. When all of the colors are muted, dark, and washed out looking this makes it extremely difficult for me to discern what is an object in DbD vs what is a player. While players obviously move, a Still player is impossible for me to descern from the rest of the environment, making me feel like the T-Rex from Jurassic Park. Fortunately Nvidia Freestyle changed everything, and allows me to adjust the color intensity and saturation for more vivid coloring to give DbD a less washed out look. Just by pressing Alt+F3 and selecting the settings I needed made the game playable for me.
Without it I wouldn't be able to play killer at all since all a survivor would have to do is simply stop moving while against another object and I'd lose them. With Nvidia Freestyle however, survivor clothing and skin is much more easily discernible from the environment and overall looks prettier. While the bright maps like the new Coldwind Farms has issues with the settings I'm currently using, I can always turn it off at the press of a button. I suggest you take a look into it and give it a go to customize your overall DbD experience to what fits best for you. If its allowing me to play killer and at minimum, a decent one, then for the rest of you who have better eyesight, it should do wonders. I hope this is helpful to you.
