Stop hating on OoO users now
Object of Obsession has been gutted.
Stop being toxic about its existence when you see someone with it and tunneling them out of the game for it. It's not the same perk anymore. Calm down. Geez.
----
Ever since I've heard about OoO's coming nerf I've been waiting to put together a seer build (Premonition, Dark Sense, Object of Obsession, and Alert). It's not OP. I'm not feeding info to a SWF. I'm not part of a SWF. Stop harassing me over it.

Whos complaining about new OoO? Its useless.

Everytime I play Elodie with my seer build, I get tunneled out of the game hard

I played 5 matches with new object and nobody tunneled me. A nurse camped me on the second hook and nodded, but the last gen got done while she was hooking me and i think she just wanted to secure her second kill.

Umm...If the Killer wants his movements to be secret, he has to remove your eyes. Not sure why basic tactics always come as a surprise to Survivors. 🤷

OoO has not been gutted. It’s still a good perk just in a different way. It’s one of my favorite perks in the game now.
16 -
Well, something to keep in mind is that the killer sees you every 30 seconds too. This means that if they lose a chase with another survivor and are looking for someone else, or are just looking for survivors in general, they'll know exactly where you are and come for you.
If tunneling happens now, I don't think it's because of the idea that OoO is too strong, but moreso because you're easy to find. At least, that's what happens when I play killer and I go against a survivor with OoO.
5 -
OoO means the killer might tunnel you even if they don't particularly want to. If I'm in between chases and looking for a survivor, why in the world would I not go after the one that's constantly pinging me their location?
OoO is still a high risk / high reward perk. Making yourself an extremely attractive target for the killer is the risk.
5 -
But that's a large part of OoO existence. You're basically saying by using that you don't mind sharing your position in exchange for killer's. That leads to killer focing you more then other survivors as he knows where you are all the time so he can chase you consistenly.
I'd advise if you can't take the heat, your probably shouldn't use OoO as it promotes you getting tunneled.

New Object is actually anti-synergistic with some survivor perks like Iron Will, Lucky Break and so on because if you're the obsession the random 30 second reveal can literally show the killer "hey they're over here" which adds some serious risk/reward to the perk that I enjoy a lot
I think it's really balanced now, even when you're not the obsession it's a decent scouting perk to help understand what perks and addons the killer has. Imagine facing a black incense plague with new object

I honestly don't get it.
A Killer's goal is to kill you. He's now aware that you can see him, and he can see you. For all he knows; you're on SWF and playing Surveillance Camera for your team.
And yet you expect him to...what? Ignore you? When you ping in his screen every 30 seconds? Let you continue to give away his location?
Why is he 'tunneling' you for getting rid of a surveillance perk?

As a killer I'm allowed to tunnel anyone out of the game for any reason.
However Object of Obsession is built so the killer focuses on you. You can't really be suprised when the killer decides to use that against you.

I'm sorry to say OoO has NEVER been a good perk, as a Rank 1 Killer main who almost every game gets a 4k, if I know where you are, I can "control your game", be my guest, use OoO. I can either go straight for you, or I can decide when to chase you, and if I notice you're telling info to your 4 men SWF cause of the perk, you're going down.
1 -
I mean if they're smacking you on the hook or yelling at you postgame for using it, fair enough, but you're literally pinging your location to them on a timer.
5 -
It’s kind of given away in the name of the perk... you’re the object of their obsession.
If people are saying toxic stuff in chat then that’s another thing entirely, but why would you run a perk that literally shows the killer your location constantly if you don’t want to be chased a lot?

I've had it on while going against a legion with I'm all ears and a blight with compound 21, it is extremely not useless

Not a single time have I heard anyone complain about using new object.

If I see OoO, I have to assume the worst.
Nothing personal.

The new OoO is still annoying for killers to deal with, just in a different way. Now, in a SWF, if one person has OoO they can use that to figure out what kind of Aura Reading the killer has so that the team can counter it or use it to their advantage to always know where you are. Hex: Undying is also a problem with an OoO user as they only have to go near a dull totem to see your location if they are not the obsession.
1 -
Maybe its not because they think its toxic... but judging by that build and the way youve worded things. Maybe youre just a free down/kill to the killer since you are literally giving them info on where you are and your chase game is a bit behind
Just a thought

Nah thanks, I'll keep tunnel them out that 4 or 5 times I play killer every 2 months or so. Cheers.

I've only played against one OoO as killer and honestly it felt much more in favour of the killer than survivor. Especially since it's hard to think when the survivor's aura will reveal each time to the killer.
OoO now is on a similar level to No Mither in terms of perks that are detrimental to a survivor. Or the secret nightmare difficulty level for survivor.

so you want them to pretend they didn't see you every 30 seconds?
lol

It's good not really useless tbh

I wouldn't call it gutted. I actually like using it now. The changes they made did exactly what they needed to for the perk. They buffed it for solos, and nerfed it for SWF.
SWF could exploit the hell out of the old version to have the whole team always know the killers exact location. The new version makes it so they can't do that.
The old version made it really hard for solos, because yeah, you always know where the killer is, but they always know where you are. Now it is a nice balance where you have more ways to play around it, and are able to find out information about what perks the killer might have. You also don't get hard countered by stealth killers as much since they only get to see you every 30 seconds, and you can make plans around it it far better than the old one as a solo.

I used to try my best to take out the OoO user asap from the game, too. Cause especially you are playing a stealth killer, they pretty much ruined all your tactics and normal play. Even when I play M1 killers it is just annoying to someone stare you while doing gens.
Now I don't have to. Info for every 30 secs is useful for me too. Plus I don't lose my advantage if I am stealth. So no reason to target OoO players.
I don't think it is gutted. They made it as a normal perk now. You get the info on a condition and just not like an infinite broadcast. It still does the job it is supposed to do.

I dont mind it much anymore but when I am running IAE it is the biggest ######### pain in the ass to exist otherwise its fine though imo

OoO is still powerful especially in a SWF, not only does it give the team info on the killer but it now also lets the team know what perks you are running.
Someone got hooked and it goes off he has bbq, someone's healing near them and it goes off he's got nurses, just completed a gen oh he has bitter murmer. It pretty much makes aura reading perks against a SWF redundant because they know when and how to counter most of them.

So you run a perk that reveals your aura to the killer, but you want the killer to ignore this information?? Uhh ok.
As a 50/50 player I say: Get over it. You are choosing to run that perk. You are choosing to say "Hey killer - here I am!" every 30 seconds.
As far as your "Seer" build goes - doesn't sound very useful for anything but hiding - which is always so useful to the other 3 random teammates (sarcasm).

I believe he's okay with being chased, everyone knows it's risky.
However, I believe that actual point is that killers act like the Object players has done something horrible to them and will make a blood oath to kill them ASAP.
If I seen an Object player, I would use that information to know what the other survivors are doing and help me start another chase after I finish hooking a survivor. I'd only tunnel only if the situation requires it.

It's also just fun for memes. I forgot I had it and was hiding from a PH when it lit me up through a wall. So I t-bagged him and he POTD'd me.

People are gonna hate you no matter what in any multiplayer game you play. They're not suddenly gonna stop tunnelling you just because a perk is no longer broken. I've seen people get tunnelled for playing as Lisa.
