What are your thoughts on TTV Streamers?

Afternoon all. This whole post is going to be a bit of venting as well as a general question to the community. Strap in!

As the title above asks; what are your thoughts on people who stream Dead By Daylight? Personally, I find 80% of them are super toxic and scummy. However, I have met a bunch of amazing people through their advertising via their steam name. Some of these people I've even planned to go meet (But of course Covid screwed us all). I find a lot of them have chill communities and if they're small enough you can actually feel like you're apart of that community from the get-go. More often than not though anyone with TTV in their name just isn't a good addition to DBD. I've had streamers farm me in front of the killer for "Content", insult and berate me and others for the odd mistake or not doing 5 gens in 2 minutes while they ran and threw every pallet on the map, or just play in the most outlandish way because one of their five viewers wanted them to throw because it would be "Funny".

Onto the venting!

I just played a game as killer on Rotten Fields. I was up against a 3 man TTV SWF with a random rank 16 Meg (We were all red ranked btw). I was playing Pig who the only reason I'm playing her is for her achievements. I thought that I was playing rather fair according to survivor standards but apparently not. There were 2 times I "Tunneled" and 1 time I slugged. Let me explain what happened: I see my first target, a Felix, and I down him and throw a trap on his head and hook him. I see with BBQ that there's 3 of them, 2 doing gens one walking the outside map to get the save. I decide to go after the latter because she's closer than everyone else and idc about winning I just want my 4 traps per game for the achievement. I smack her once and she doesn't leave her loop but as she's running I notice she's always looking straight back at me whenever I start to get close. She must have Deadhard and she did so I baited it and downed her. I hook her and only see one person with BBQ, the Felix getting his trap off. I go for him because idk where anyone else is if they're in lockers or close by and if I stay to look around I'm camping. I grab Felix off a box and hook him again. By then the other girl has been saved and healed up so I go after the 3 others walking together. I down one and hook her and immediately start a chase with someone else. I see the Meg run up and farm off hook so the person who got farmed ran at me and used Deadhard. I smack her and leave her because she JUST got unhooked. Now I'm slugging and a scummy killer. As the game goes on I'm lost in the corn and see scratch marks, someone's going to save off hook so I follow behind. I left for almost a full minute THEN came back and now I'm camping. Buddy gets off of the hook and I go after the person who unhooked. Yet I'm still somehow tunneling because buddy tried faking having BT and running in front of me? I end up closing the hatch and finding the Meg and because I barely chased her (Due to the fact I'm corn blind as hell and all she did was hide) they got mad again at me and continued ######### talking because I never went for her.

Venting over. What are some of the best or worst moments someone with TTV in their name has done in one of your games? Things like Vinces Pallet Peggy or when the TTV gets drunk and runs into every bush on Badham (Yes that's happened before).

tl;dr Many TTVs are fun to play with and against. Most just ruin your experience throughout the whole match. DBD Blacklist function when?

Twitch streamers don't bother me. I treat everyone the same.

DbD is just a game after all.

I always try to act cute in front of them in game hoping they will notice me but they never do...

And I agree. I'm not saying all streamers are bad people. Just mainly the ones that I get paired with on either side. I just find that so often from my experience whenever I have someone with TTV in their name they just make it unfun for both sides. Hence why I was asking if anyone else had thoughts on them. It does kind of bother me though that they're free to say and do pretty much anything and their viewers like to encourage it. But that's just a personal gripe of mine and nothing major.

I treat them no different than anyone else, if I had a fun game with them I'll even stop in their channel and give them a Follow.

I wasn’t accusing you specifically but I just see a lot of people that assume every streamer is toxic when it isn’t true. It kind of is annoying even though I’m not a streamer myself but I play usually SWF with one and he’s one of the more chill people that I’ve met playing this game. Honestly wish I was as chill as him.

I agree some are really nice and cool but the majority are toxic complainers that like to talk crap about everyone else in the match. That's why I dodge TTV's whether I'm playing survivor and there in my team or playing killer.

I often find some pretty nice TTV's and the games are always more casual with most of them.

No I get it. I have a handful of friends that I SWF with and all of them either stream or used to stream. Like I said above I've met some really cool people that I've group with in the past that had TTV in their name. Without naming names I grouped with 1 a few months ago and he was a decent, well playing nice guy. I gave him a follow and a sub. My main point above is the fact that there are sooooo many streamers that go out of their way to potentially ruin yours and everyone else's experience. Granted a large majority of people who don't stream still do that. From my pov and depending on how long I've played when I see a TTV I go "Hey this'll be interesting" or more often than not "Oh god not another one". Usually from streamers throwing or just playing like they don't have a team all day.

They are either extremely wholesome and give me legit reasons to follow them or they are next level entitled degenerates, it's pretty rare if they are in-between those two extremes.

Most of them are nice and chill. There's a few that are genuinely bad people, but the majority beats that.

I've recently bumped into quite a few streamers playing survivor while I've been playing killer and they've all been very polite people, I always try to not treat them any differently but sometimes I'll bring some BPS for em because why not. It's also always fun to watch the match back from the other perspective, I really wish DBD had a replay system so I could do that with any match and not just one a streamer happened to be in

Unfortunately killer streamers tend to not like me so much when I'm playing survivor usually because I'm a nuisance half the time, but I don't hold it against em. I wouldn't like me either

I'd honestly not let what streamers say get under your skin though, because most of them are playing with friends and they just vent their frustrations like anyone does while playing games as long as it's kept outta the endgame chat ofc. I get annoyed when I play both sides too so I can relate

DBD's just one of those games

Normally it doesn't bother be. But when I think I've had a good match, check the vod and they're insulting me all game kinda takes the wind out of you. It would be like that for a lot of people I'd imagine. That's one of the reasons I'd love a blacklist function. Weather it's a streamer or not there's people you know from the game that you just don't want to play with on either side. Slap that steam ID and never get matched with them again.

I understand your issue here, I've had some bitter experiences with streamers too - namely killer streamers. People who think it's okay for killers to berate survivors/make fun of their mistakes but don't like it when it's done to them and so on.

The devs have said they're not gonna implement a blacklist feature though, something to do with matchmaking times/people would abuse it to blacklist people that are better than them and so on.

If you ask me both sides has its share of you-know-what heads. Best to just try and not think the worst of people if you can; some people are just unpleasant and can't take losing.

If I'm the Killer I offer no quarter and play as hard and interesting as I can. They came for content; I'd hate to let them down. I particularly enjoy it when they came to get content abusing some exploit. This happened recently with the Perk: Breakdown. A TTV crew came in, clearly the streamer and his/her complete entourage. I started the game normally but when it was obvious multiple people had the Perk and that was why they came, I proceeded to slug them all and bleed them all out. They couldn't even complain about it in the end game chatter, since it isn't like they left me much choice. :)

I have no doubt on the actual channel the moaning, groaning, etc. was very salty indeed.

Threads like this one lead to people attacking and shaming content creators, so to avoid it, I'll close this one.
