Blight's J-flick is gone.

non-attack flicks are capped at 90 degrees
attack flicks are capped at 90 degrees
There is no longer a way to exceed the turn angle, so that was fixed. 90 + 90 is within Blight's turn mechanics, and does not exceed any turn caps.

if you read the original post youd see it was me reading + giving an interpretation of the patch notes so i dont think it needs to be changed. "Blight's J-flick is gone. At least that's what I'm getting from these patch notes."

LUL, "grateful " for a game i payed ? Now we have to be grateful for fixing bugs ? What's next ? Being grateful if i find a lobby ?
Sliding on objects with Blight is so frustrating, still in game since release...After the last "fix", the hitbox detection seems even worse and more random, and that affect every Blight player, not a few exploiters.
Spoiler alert: Somehow you can still flick 😂 I hope you will send chocolate to BHVR 😀

Greatful for the fact the team listened to it's playerbase and fixed issues they were specifically asking for, yes.

I literally said earlier in the thread collision was still an issue however we should celebrate this being fixed as a first

Wow it's not like I read the comments in my own thread and have responded to them what a shocker.
I hope you will send chocolate to BHVR 😀
Sure thing, as soon as I get the funds for international shipping I'll give it a shot.
Keep up Jeremy

Also, I can confirm that console Blight can now flick around objects, so PC and console Blight are much much closer in performance than they used to be. Most importantly, console can easily do 90 degree flicks, which is an absolutely necessary skill due to how quickly survivors can sidestep out of the way, so console Blight is actually playable now!

Yes please devs i beg mercy !

I said a few times, if they took the time to adjust and make it something everyone can do without messing with macros/DPI + they took the time to balance it then I'd be fine with it
If that's what they've done then I'm good with it.

I can confirm the 90 + 90 is easily doable at 800 DPI, which is the lowest DPI my mouse can go.

This seems fine, especially because this was a deliberate change that put both platforms on a somewhat even playing field which will make it much easier to balance if they feel like he is too strong or in other cases, too weak.
I'm glad it was addressed in some capacity either way, puts a pin in the whole exploit discussion for me.

here you go. I managed to get a match in before the update.
so first match is pre update, second is post update.
let me preface this by saying, I rarely play blight... so I am pretty bad on him.
The changes are night and day, so much so that it weirded me out how much better he controls.
(I posted the link while it uploads, let me know in 10 minutes or so if it doesn't work)

For real the last change they implemented almost made him feel worse, I also hope that this change doesn't add more bugs to him

The first clip is good, but there is no post-updated video.

yes there is. the second match. on the asylum
1 -
lol sorry i didnt even watch the full video, i assumed you were going to post two different clips
1 -
that felt like too much work, so I just combined both of them in 1.😅

J-flick is still in the game but they made it better for console players with is a big Plus.

Oh crap, didn't noticed the time on your thread my b.
Lol

I can't wait until they get rid of stretched resolutions, another exploit that console players can't do, by finally reworking their gamer's resolution code so it's not possible anymore. In return they can give us proper resolution, rendering, and FOV options. A win-win for everyone.
They put in the resources to redo their former spaghetti UI code, so I hope they will do the same with their resolution code.

i also cannot wait for that day so fingers crossed it comes within the next seven years

hmm, i played 2 PC Blights after the patch today still hitting me like a J flick so i don't think it's gone, i heard it's a Z flick now or something.

Thats much MUCH harder to fix, I dont think theyll be able to get rid of that exploit as easily as some players think it is. Its almost the same as putting a little sticker on your screen to act as crosshair.

Here I am still sad that Oni still has his camera bug after more than a year...
1 -
I’m happy that it’s gone. Increasing dpi doesn’t mean you’re “skilled”.
2 -
and they added a new version that can be done on console :D

The J flick was a pretty fun and interactive ''mechanic'' among the high elo players, which you could really feel outplaying others, because you knew what he was going to do. Unfortunately, Behaviour didn't thought that the low elo players had to adapt to the experienced ones, and that just guided to remove the J flick, as the majority of players didn't know how to counterplay J flicks. Just like the curve that Billy can do on loops, people didn't exactly understood how to play against it, but only really good players (low percentage) played this mechanic as a pretty fun one with a nice interaction. Even after almost 5 years being released, playing against ''Curve Billys'' is one of the rarest things out there, why? Just because it's a high elo gameplay, and I don't think the J flick should be removed because of that same reason. To fix the problem with the console players, just increase controller sensitivity, and that's it.
Btw, sorry for the bad english, it's not my native language xd
1 -
you shouldn't have to adapt to an exploit. now it's been removed and a new way of flicking introduced, which is probably intended

2 -
oh damn sorry.
1 -
If it was not intended, just put a limit of 180 degrees, while you increase controller sensitivity. Boom, now it's a fair mechanic.
0 -
which is... what they did, in essence
1 -
I mean, they put a degree limit around 110-120, and a normal J flick is 180 degres, so in essence they just removed the J flicks...
0 -
90 + 90 = 180
90 capped turn limit
90 capped turn during rush
2 -
wait what?
I even tested, you can't do J flicks anymore, they put the limit at the lunge, the turn while dashing is still the same, so I don't get it what you mean by saying 90 + 90 = 180
0 -
this
1 -
Was this video made after the 4.7.1 patch? If it is, it doesn't makes sense, because his lunge was waaaaay more than 120 degrees
0 -
yes it was.
like i said. 90 degrees during rush, 90 degree lunge.
1 -
Im gonna test this rn, see if I can do that in other loops except for this car, that does not have collision at all.
0 -
I tried this a couple times, but that flick that he made in the video wasn't possible, in the best attempt I was able to get a 130 degree ''flick''
My friend told me that he had to do 2 flicks in like 1 second, maybe my mousepad is too short for that.
