Honestly didn't believe in "gen rush strategy"
Right so as most of you have seen my previous comments on previous posts regarding gen rushing and saying how absolute nonsense it was.
K, well... turns out I've had my first experience witnessing from the start of the game AS A SURVIVOR. Pretty much I've fixed one and obviously done a stupid move in not paying too much attention and run straight out infront of Trapper π π€ as I clearly have the skill this morning to do this.
I've got into a chase for a good minute looping ect... anyway right, here's the punchline. I fully understand and aware of being hooked as long as I can to for my team to at least get one extra gen in... however, ALL 3 OF THEM were on a gen each, and it literally took a message to one of them like "so am I just hanging here now or will someone kindly get the save" before one of them decided to get me (whilst I'm on the struggle phase) π
And last but not least. This dwight didn't have borrowed time on, and so he unhooked me infront of trapper and instead of him going for the one who saved, nope... he decides to drop me again π the problem wasn't the fact I died or got a good spanking from the killer himself... the problem is from start til I died, everyone was only interested in getting the gens done. Has anyone been in a situation like this before? π³ and why does it take 3 people running off to a gen each ignoring the save?
They were all purple ranks too π

I love the fact you had to message a survivor to save you. For some reason thatβs hilarious to me

Run kindred if you're solo.

Gen rushing will always be a thing, when people never heal and will always jump on gens even in your face there you go. Luckily having a full team play that way is rare but it can happen. Shame you dont repair slightly slower injured by default. Reward the killer for pressuring all players. At least you was survivor though lol

For optimal gens, there are a few things to keep in mind:
A 10 second chase away from gens is better than a 30 second chase near your teammates. So what you did actually sounds like correct play.
If the killer is the near the hook, there are considerations to make. Do any teammates have BT? Does the person on the hook have DS? If both are no and the killer is camping, it is ALWAYS better to do 3 gens in that time span. Going for an unsafe 1 for 1 is actually worse than letting that survivor potentially die for 3 gens.
Even if a survivor has BT, a 1 for 1 is only the better play when the killer is camping if you can't secure 3 gens before struggle AND the person on the hook has DS. No way of knowing in solo queue.
The only other play in a camping situation is to double save to ensure a safe unhook, but that requires bodyblocking the killer to prevent a grab. Tough to coordinate in a solo environment.

Did you have Kindred?
If you didn't, this sounds like a typical soloq experience. They probably all just though "I'm too far away. Someone else is closer and will get him first, no point to try". And then nobody went for save.

I was running kindred. It was the fact 2 of them were already working on a gen each. And you literally had one person just running off to then find a gen themselves that annoyed me. Like I'm on a hook where you are and you run off. π€£

I thought it was hilarious too. My first ever message sent to a survivor ππ€£
Oh and they're response was "nope too bad you got hooked".... k but you literally just saw me being hooked and run away. And having been running kindred he'd of seen the killer running off the different way that they were so... they had no excuse if I'm honest.

Kindred has always been my running perk on all my survivors.

That moment when gen rushing even annoys survivors.
Anyway, survivors need additional objectives like gas cans, gen parts, fixing cables or something like that. So its not just "hold m1 until the match is over"

They were a 3-Person SWF. You were their Red Shirt. That is an example of an entirely different issue. :)

Of course, my god I did think that! But I thought to literally say that would of been coming across a toxic jerk lol was definitely thinking it at the time if I'm honest.
