Why did I go from rank 1 to 9? Am I not supposed to go back to rank 5?

Last month I went from a 4 to a 5 and I thought that is the way it is supposed to go or am I missing something?

Restart the game and see if its not just a visual glitch?

Thanks yeah I tried that and it still says 6? I noticed before the rank reset for a few days my pips and rank were like frozen then a day or so ago it caught up. I dont know if this is happening to anyone else or just me?

That is weird, but at the same time pips and emblems are acting strange lately.

Have they changed the reset? I was reset 1 to 9 on survivor and killer from 9 to 19 :D

After new dlc rolls out, and even just now and then, my pipping/ranking can go completely bonkers. I have scored almost 30k and not gotten a single pip or de-pipped, scored terribly and gotten a safety, when I should have lost a pip, seemingly lost multiple pips at one time, when I should have at least safetied, and logged in to find my rank different from when I had last logged out.

I went from rank1 to rank9 this reset, sometimes it happens, its a common bug.

Yeah, went from Rank 1 to Rank 9 as well. But its fine, I have something to do and I will try some Adepts, as long as I am in green Ranks as Killer.

So i've started playing dbd again after a while and i was rank 5 and got reseted to rank 15. It was thinking it would send me back to rank 9 like it used to (1-4 to 5, 5-8 to 9 and so on)
Did they change that or is this a bug?

When was the last time you played?
1 Month away -> from rank 5 to 9
2 Months away -> from rank 5 to 15
You get the point.

I was rank 3 as a Survivor and rank 20 as a Killer. The screen told me I was rank 1 both side and resetted my Survivor rank to 7, when usually, I go back to 5.
I don't know if you have the same "issue". (Quotation mark because I don't consider it as an issue actually. It happens...)

Sucks but glad its not just happening to me. Wonder why it is happening now when for months it was working fine? Guess the latest update did something wonky to the rank reset? As if it wasnt harder to grind back this makes it worse.

I was rank 3, and I went back to rank 7. Usually, I go back to rank 5.

Well, ranking up isn't too hard. But I have 1k hours and now, I'm paired with players under 100 hours... 🙄

I went from 1 to 5 and 2 to 5, maybe after I reset the game I will be lower who knows maybe I can finally be in purple ranks again!!

From rank 1 to rank 14 and 16, and i dont feel bad, this is the best rank reset so far

Sounds like a lot of people are experiencing odd resets today. I haven't checked mine yet...

I had the same type thread on here, other players are saying it is a bug after the latest update maybe? I went from a 4 to a 6.

I think it is better this way, to be honest. Makes Rank Reset feel like its old-self.

Happened to me aswell - rank 1 on Killer rank 2 on Survivor , now Rank 9 on both roles

Same, happened to me as well, and for some reason my survivor started with three pips at rank 9 while killer got zero.
I did restart the game which created a new log, so I added both the newly created one and the latest backup to make sure the one involving the rank reset incident got added.

Here's the log I have from launching, getting the rank reset, and queuing for a minute before deciding not to and closing the game. I went from Rank 1 on both Survivor/Killer to Rank 9 on both.

It used to be like 10 ranks, so you would go from Rank 1 to Rank 11, if I am not mistaken.

If anyone wants to report rank reset bug (log file) i think they should do this here: Bugged Rank Reset Its easier to collect data from 1 thread imo (i hope that link works)

where can you found your log file ? if it can help i would lot to but cannot find it ^^

When you get the issue, close your game and do not reopen it until you get your logs.
I think if you did reopen your game you should upload your backup logs (when the issue occurred, look at the modification date of the file) but im not sure about that
- Press Win+R
- Type in appdata
- Press OK
- In opened window navigate to: \Local\DeadByDaylight\Saved\Logs
- Usually you would need to attach the DeadByDaylight.log file.
- Add the file to your bug report

Do the following:
1. Close the game after it happened.
2. Windows Key + R
4. %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\DeadByDaylight\Saved\Logs - Enter this and press enter
4. Look for the file called "Deadbydaylight.log"
If if occurred the last time you played, it should be the latest Deadbydaylight.log. If happened prior to the last time you played and close the game, it will be an archived log.

I think there is going to be thousands if not more log files so the devs might as well just reset everyone back to before the rank reset and call it a day. if thats possible?

I think there is no difference if you played a few games or not the only thing that matters is that which file you will upload (this one when the issue occurred). Logs record things you did in 1 session from launching the game to quitting it but once again im not specialist when it comes to "how logs in dbd works" its only my intuition as game dev.

my rank reset is rough this time, I am rank 20 now after being rank 1 or 2 cant remember exactly.
