Hag is S tier but people don’t like her defensive play style. People just want to chase survivors and hag is the only killer that doesn’t want to be chasing for a long period. I like playing her though

I don’t like going against Hag & trapper. Gotta watch them toes!

What dismays me about people not liking her defensive playstyle is that in the same vein, many people also complain about a lack of variety in the higher ranks. Some people refuse to play hag out of principle; a lot of survivors moan in post-game chat and DC when I queue as hag, but we can't move away from the narrow perk meta that exists currently if people keep whining about unique killers once they make it to upper-rank play.
People constantly build around winning the chase, but refuse to run anything else. Hag subverts that.

The Hag is like a Charolette that can place multiple Victors around a hook, yet The Twins are nerfed and not The Hag. Why are Hags still allowed to trap so close to hooks??
The counter is to spend 10 seconds sneaking to the hook, hoping the hooked survivor immediately crouches, and then spend another 10 seconds sneaking away from the hook. What's that? The Hag's already manually ran to the hook before you could sneak away? Too bad. Should have brought a flashlight or Urban Evasion. -_-

Rusty remove the camera grab and mint rag is a training wheel with a cool down.

I never dodge lobbies. I would probably bring franklins, but a hard game is more interesting. Against a flashlight you need to set up less and play more of a chaser hag.

Mint rag is an amazing camping tool and rusty shackles give survivors no feedback during a chase or in general

Mint rag is on a cool down after the hag teleport. The rusty get rid of her camera grab so survivors don't have to worry about running into corner. You can still deactivate the rusty considering it still leave the trap on the floor. You only see this when it someone tryna to be annoying or it a new hag.

Hard games are fun, unfair games are not. There's a difference.
Franklin's is a meme perk and a waste of a perk lot.
There is no such thing as "chaser" Hag, that's just simply playing Hag badly.

I wont deny that a hag who is chasing is a weaker hag. But like with trapper against old object sometimes you need to change your tactic. If you have a part of the map trapped you can chase a survivor, trap every loop, so that he needs to leave and herd him to your traps.
Or you can stay close to your web and if one gets disarmed you chase the survivor into the next trap. It helps to change your trap placement or to set a backup trap at the same loop.
If the survivor are on tournament level and destroy your traps all at the same time you will lose, but that never happens. Even the sweaty russian rank 1 swf with object and every meta perk couldnt do it and they were really good survivor. They got all gens done and almost escaped but i never felt like a killer without a power. So i know that there are teams which will destroy you, but i never met them. Everytime i lose with hag its bc i messed up.
Franklin is not that bad against flashlights. I did see it even in a tournament on a hag. Trapping items can cost survivor a lot of time or they lose it.

Well first Trapper is a bad example. You can actually chase somewhat with Trapper as he's a 115%, Hag is a 110%, not the same. You aren't gonna be herding with Hag like that unless the survivors are rank 15's or something.

That's not a chaser Hag, that's playing defensively in your web.

Hag is a pub stomper. She destroys bad players more so than the average killer and the average survivor is pretty bad. She loses quite hard with actually good survivors.

Tournaments run by different rules and most the tournaments are literally just face camping each person to death on a hook. A lot of the tournaments have had really bad players as well. You should never be wasting a perk slot on Franklin's if your actual intention is winning. The scenario you're describing will work on the average survivor because as we've talking about, they're bad.
If you want to mainly reference average games which are against bad players then yeah that's fine, you can run whatever you want as nothing really matters if the survivors are bad. You can run zero perks, zero addons and still slaughter most average matches even at rank 1. My responses are if you are actually facing decent survivors that are at least as good as yourself.

Oh come on. There's more to it than that.

That's what Tru3 believes if I recall. "You set up traps in 1 area and control it." similar to his opinion on Trapper. And maybe it is like that, but I've begun to think that Hag is just a better Trapper in almost every way.

Hag is a better Trapper she isn't limited by having to go across map for Traps. Her area of control is easier since her traps can be harder to spot and harder to disarm. But that all requires a good Hag who's good at Trap management.

https://youtu.be/br871ZPS5R8 at 54:25 you see Otzdarva with hag against agony. Agony is clearly a strong tournament team and Otzdarva chooses Franklins. They could only bring one flashlight but it shows that Franklin is not a useless perk in general.

Franklin's didn't get him much use there. He would have got way more value from choosing another perk.
Also, if we want to got that route.
Watch another match to see how useless his Franklins was. He got utterly destroyed.

I guess you DO have to actually get from the lobby to the actual match, that's true. :D
Don't mind me. I have zero doubt that it takes a lot of skill to get really good with the Hag. I take nothing away from the people who really know how to use her well. It's just that that seems to describe EVERY Hag player I ever encounter, lol. She's a nightmare.

You should watch Space Coconut's most recent Hag related video talking about the misconceptions of Hag and how to properly utilize her power.
From watching his videos it's in my opinion that Hag is a stale killer in dbd. Her power can be used in the offensive manor he touches on, but the fact is, she is a very uninteractive killer. I would love for her Traps to do more to a survivor than just allow easy relocation, they could use the whole Curse and Charm idea of Hags lore to make her have multiple patterns she can draw, each one having different effects on survivor gameplay. It would most likely drastically increase interaction and make her a far more interesting killer to the majority of the player base.

You actually face good Hags an Ultra Rare spectacle.

You don't get good Hags? Man, the Hag players I've been up against are lethal.

How does M&A affect Dark Devotion? I usually run M&A on her, but Dark Devotion looks fun.

Which surprises me that hag isn't played more often. Usually people gravitate to what's strong, but she seems so rare.

She's too unique for some. Most people wanna chase. And Hag is the only killer that doesn't want to chase. Although she can put up 4ks like Nurse, Spirit, and Blight. And contrary to believe she has a high skill cap.
