Why do people call Doctor OP?
I mean it's baffling Doctor is balanced and even on some maps fairly weak. I mean the OP Calm Spirit crushes doctor (joke don't take seriously).
1. A common complaint is that he ruins stealth. Well you're not suppose to stealth against Doctor. Like you're not suppose to heal against Legion or Plague. (No one says they're OP) Or clump up against an Oni or Bubba. Or stay in Los with a Stalky Boi. So people simply don't like their playstyle needing to be changed a bit. And you can hop in a locker to counter the power. Once more I've seen people simply not move when I go into a locker to avoid his Blast. So some simply just don't change their playstyle. And you get a notification if he'll pop his static blast and it has a cooldown 60 seconds base for reference that's the Cooldown of Blood Echo or Starstruck. Here's the official. Static Blast takes 2 seconds to charge however it has a 60 second cooldown, countered by lockers, and tied to the terror radius.
2. He makes skillchecks harder if you actually know how to hit skillchecks you'll be fine it goes in a different order they don't change sizes. New players will struggle but that won't last longer. And tier 3 madness will have you waste oh no if you can hit skillchecks (if you don't that's your fault not game balance). Less then Q & Qs cooldown.
3. He can spam his power and shut down loops. One you can play safe and drop the pallet early. People do this against Clown. You can do it against Doctor. Shock therapy has a charge time of 1 second with a ten meter range and will deny of you vaulting or dropping for 2.5 seconds and he's slowed to 3.08 meters per second slower then walking Nurse. Now that seems quick the therapy but if you're on the other side of the loop what's the point. He can't blink or phase around to suddenly hit you. And once more pre dropped pallets hurt him. And those ten meters will reach your small basic loops and T L walls. But once you get into monsters like Badham, Mother's Dwelling, or Fractured Cowshed where loops are longer then 10 meters you'll be in trouble and even with add-ons to increase range a significant amount of time will be spent catching them since he has no instant down.
4. He can do so much. Well not as much he has can't zoom across the map like Hillbilly or Blight so that gen across the map is done. Unless your Blast isn't on it's Cooldown then slim chance you stop it. No instant down like Bubba or Oni to cut down chase time. His anti loop and 1 v 1 is good but it's not on the level of Slinger. He is good with many things but not all and minus his anti stealth he's not the best with anything else.
5. His add-ons are powerful. If there's a SWF static blast's side affect are worthless. So he's not a SWF fighter. Now yes in Solo Q he can be a problem his add-ons can create misinformation where there is already a struggle in information with Meg Heads, and CCCs (Corner Care Claudettes). And on weaker survivor maps it's a problem. And you won't know which pallets have been dropped. Mostly a struggle on stronger killer maps. And yes you anti doctor survivor mains. Going like what if he burns an indoor offering with Distressing, Unnerving Presence, Overcharge, and Huntress Lullaby. And double calm add-ons. Okay you're now talking about a niche build on the levels of no power Oni which also needs a map to work.
6. Final conclusion Doctor is definitely not in C or F tier like I made it seem he has the best Anti-Stealth in the game, good anti-loop, a little bit of slowdown and good synergy with terror radius extension perks and skill check perks which falter on everyone else. Without needing a niche build which is cool. But no mobility, no instant down, doesn't dominate outside of stealth which isn't fatal. And people who say he needs to be nerfed have a poor understanding of how his power works. He isn't on S or A tier. But he's balanced he's comfortably in B tier only seeming F tier by the very best and S Tier by the very best. And yes he can be annoying but that doesn't make a killer OP.

Because survivors love hiding so they can let their teammates die and escape through the hatch and the doctor completly ruins their plan.

I believe it's because he's got a bit of everything in his kit.
- anti-stealth
- continuous tracking
- anti-loop
- gen slowdown (tier 3)
- madness skillchecks that may allow him to get that Pop Goes The Weasel gen-kick throughout the match
- anti-items (tier 3)
- anti-DeadHard (via shock stun)
Personally I find him perfectly balanced (vanilla).

First, Nobody has ever said Doctor was OP. Second, he needs to be changed because of his ability. 99.999% of doctors run Ruin/ Undying and want to slow the game down as much as possible. there are add-ons and perks that make his terror radius literally 72 meters. If he has Clorophobia + Sloppy that can be a nightmare. He just spams his ability and it's annoying because you can't do anything and he gets a free hit every time if he uses it correctly

Many people (mostly new-ish / inexperienced players) do call him op. Someone even messaged me I'm a "coward for playing Doctor".

I see lots of people call Doc OP and it's pretty hilarious.

So nerf his add-ons then is what you believe is best. Since it'd be stupid to nerf Undying again. Assuming you don't spawn on the hex or are on Autohaven or Ormond. And you're really making it seem like he's OP.

If he uses his ability correctly, he earns that "free hit".

They are usually people with about 100 hours on the game.

Anyone who says he's op just don't know how to drop a pallet early and even then he's still not really OP just doesn't have much counter play, having little to no counter play in chases doesn't mean a killer is OP, look at Death Slinger he has almost as little counter play in chase as spirit or nurse the difference is that nurse and spirit have good mobility as well as being able to down survivors much quicker.

The Doctor has a medical license.
While I'm not sure what he specializes, I think it's quite likely he's either an optometrist (judging by his lovely eyes), or an operating professional (judging by his employment at Lery's Institutional).
Either way, he's clearly an OP in way or another.

If people can think Trickster (on release, mind you) was OP, they'll think anyone is OP.

Nah, Survivors don't all him OP. The new complaint is 'boring' or 'unfun'.
They will demand something that makes the game boring or unfun needs to be changed so they can have more fun. And it's almost always at the expense of Killers.

Some STILL think he's OP. I still get complaints if post-game chat about it. It's ridiculous.

Well, people called Trickster on release OP. People called Freddy on release OP. People called Hillbilly OP.
Honestly, people calling current Doctor Op does not surprise me.
