DBD tournament question

I'm putting on a DBD tournament in June and one of the teams has told me that entry fees associated with the tournament aren't allowed. Does anyone know if this is true? I don't wish to break any rules, just wanted to increase the prize pool.

If its a private tournament I am pretty sure you can fo whatever you want, but don't quote me on it

If you are streaming it on Twitch/YouTube you may want to check with someone there as there are specific rules against raffles/competitions that have to be met under the law and TOS.

You can do whatever in a private one.

You may not want to listen to forum members when it comes to legal advice. I would recommend you to first check with BHVR on whether you need permission to host a competition for money (Some games require users to get permission beforehand). You will find a lot of internet lawyers (not real lawyers) who more often than not can put you in a bad position with their "advice." So my advice: Consult people who actually have a say (BHVR) on whether there are any restrictions to hosting a tournament with monetary requirements/pay outs of their game.

that's a fair point, and I have checked out the tournament section of the forums. I have seen no pinned messages from BHVR stating you need to ask for permission or that you can't take an entry fee. TBF I'm ok with just doing a tournament with no entry fee but I assumed folks would like the increase in the prize pool.
