Salty ppl reporting for literally anything, why do you do this?

Came across a swf, I played blight and I must say I played kinda sweaty but well I just wanted to do it cuz I mean its not like you are not allowed to. Well I kinda destroyed that swf with a twitch streamer that was live. I am someone who likes to watch after the match the game to kinda see myself how it looked like from the survivors view, if I did any mistakes to learn from them.

I saw how all of the 4 where literally hating on me the entire game and then reporting me for griefing and "potential aura reading hack". They naughted at me and I naughted back cuz I took it as a "fun" interaction and not to be toxic. I even went to the chat and apoligized to them if that came out toxic but they still end up beeing mean towards me, well I guess its always easy to blame as a grp someone.

Anyway end of story, its not the first time I came across this, I see actually that sometimes lets call it every 10th match atleast 1 person reporting for those kind of things only cuz they are salty. I wonder what the reasoning behind it is and what they think its gonna accomplish?

*Edit: Wonder if anyone of you had a simiular situation?

Yeah, imagine if those people just focused on the game instead of being toxic, how much better they would have done.

Yea, I had few games with them but everytime I went into their stream after the match to say GG and drop them a follow, they were still in the middle of shittalking me. Im not saying all of TTVs are like that but many are and I stopped playing vs them altogether

ye I get what you mean. Without trying to be mean or rude but you have to think that way, most of these ppl are insecure of themselves and need to kinda get recognition throughout streams from other ppl to make themselves feel better, whenever their ego is attacked somehow "by you playing somehow not nice against them in any way" they will feel hurt and ofc "attack" back. It is sadly how it is.

some friends and I went up against a rank 1 TTV killer. we didn't realize it until after the game though. 2 of us got out because we found a key. we went to check them out after. They spent 30 minutes complaining that Plunderers instinct was BS and that keys were BS. Saying things like if we didn't find that key we would have been dead and that he should have killed us ect.

I find the majority of my interactions with other streamers & players to be mainly positive - both during a match and after (When they come in my stream due to me having End Game Chat disabled).

Only real issues I have is when salty players come to my stream to try and spout off their bigoted homophobic and racist comments. Most of my interactions with players who come in my streams are positive, but I do get the random bigoted killer/survivor.

Oh sorry didn't mean to interrupt the TTV bashing.... because according to the forums end game chat is never littered with racist/homophobic/bigoted/salty chat by non-streamers :) (sarcasm)

There are people who just type "reported", as if they believe you'll be banned, just because of their sayso.

The truth of the matter is that nothing happens. Most are just attempts to keep up their false idea that they're great and cannot accept someone may have beaten them because they played better.

Very few attempt the ban, and so long as you haven't cheated, the people dealing with the complaints will see that clearly and throw it out.

They're probably just trying to shift this imaginary pull of power to their advantage; compensating for the fact they've felt vulnerable and can't handle it.

I played a TTV SWF group with 3 streamers two days ago. Hooked them all 2x each before I started killing anyone, and they called me a tunneler repeatedly on stream and in after game chat. Dummies.

Well, some streamers are just like that kind of players. They never blame themselves because they have bad self-esteem and they don't wanna look bad to their viewers. ######### thing to report you just because they are upset, that's main reason. I've seen survivors reporting me just because they died and killers reporting me for looping or bodyblocking hook.

Personally I call well played or something like that when I play and survivor/killer mindgames me. Never reported anyone because of salt. Some streamers just gets triggered if game doesn't go as they wanted.

I really hope the reporting system has some kinda automated filter that discards obviously BS reports. I'm talking reports with little to no information in them beyond the kinda stuff I'm sure they get a lot of like "tbag bodyblock -.-" and "camper tunneler -.-". Because an actual person having to look at those for even a second is a waste of their time.

If not, rampant false reporting should honestly be a temporarily bannable/"warnable" offense if you ask me. There's the in-game reporting reason categories needing refinement (really needs to explain that "bodyblocking" refers to using it to prevent people from playing/prevent the game from ending and not taking hits for other survivors or holding someone in place while revving your chainsaw, lol), but then there's people that seem to genuinely believe that if someone gets reported enough they get banned no matter if they did anything wrong.

I played as Bubba a few days ago. In the end I got three and one escaped through the hatch. The one that got away accused me of camping and asked me why I didn't use bbq even though I had it selected. Well, as soon as I hooked one, his buddies took him down in front of me. With bubba as the killer, a big mistake. At the end, the surv who survived still wrote that the game was "ez". With the escape through the hatch.

People like that just play one side and it shows. Don't pay them any attention they'll likely be the same people that say they get camped and tunnelled every single game.

I remember when dbd released on Xbox and end game click on the killers profile. You knew instantly if they were a killer main because it said "Reputation-Avoid" because people spammed the Microsoft report system on them.

I played Legion on Midwich once, and it was a trial with a streamer in it. I decided not to think much of it and played as normal. At the last hook, I swapped over to my other monitor to see what was being said. Being that I was Legion and it was Midwich, I was expecting a pretty nasty talking-down, but she was being VERY positive and complimenting my performance, as well as telling her chat it was nice to see a Legion because for her it was rare. I was blown away by her kindness and positivity. Her chat was definitely falling in with her good vibes as well, with them complimenting good plays by Killers and Survivors alike. So ya, sometimes, you get surprised with good stuff like that.

Normally, though, it's people talking about how bad everything is and insulting you regardless of your performance.

I also had one where a friend checked out a stream while I was the Killer against them, and was forwarding me what they were saying. Not intel, just insults. I specifically went after the streamer who put two and two together, and he was trying to haggle with me to get hatch. Didn't work out in his favor, but it was amusing to see that he dropped the insults if he thought he could haggle his way to a win.

Well I have actually confirmation that killers really can get banned for stuff like that.

Yeah I had a similar situation with a live streamer who thought I was hacking as Oni because I got my power too fast, even though I hit two survivors at the start of the game and got the rest of the blood from one. I told him that I got my power fast (without addons) because I got two early hits from a meg and jake while getting extra orbs from meg, and when I told him "do you understand how his power works?" and he responded with "dude I own Oni" and then when I told him how the power works he was like "no it doesn't, (insult)". There was another person in chat too who was like "bruh i have been playing since release, you were cheating". I guess his vape was finally starting to affect him.

    Confirmation: Literally nobody

His 'confirmation': Well my friend said he got banned for nothing so it must be true.

  • Marc_go_solo
    Marc_go_solo Member Posts: 5,306

Confirming whether an unfair ban has happened is practically impossible, because in order to prove this, BHVR needs to basically say "We made an error", and as you're effectively saying: we only have the accused person's word that it was unjustified, which may very well be loose with the truth.

I was just interested as to whether this has happened. But I cannot believe BHVR would say: "Yeah, we banned you, but we made an error. No hard feelings?".

Your thoughts were similar to mine, in that it's very difficult to prove conclusively.

This literally just happened to me yesterday. Had a console twitch streamer report me for exploits after I 4ked his team as huntress. Funny thing was that I was going to go on his stream and give him a gg. Needless to say, I did not do that lol.

Wouldn't even matter if you were hacking this games banning system is non existent lol

Do you at least have official confirmation from BHVR admitting they made an error?

I do understand that it wouldn't be easy to discuss this, but at the same time you can see how - without any evidence to show - it's impossible to confirm, based on the person just saying so.

We'd need evidence to officially confirm this. Otherwise, unfortunately it's just your word, and that's not nearly enough evidence since it tells us nothing of what happened.

Closing up this thread; please remember to be civil and respectful with your comments, this includes discussing content creators and streamers.

But to clarify, ACMs check all reports thoroughly, especially in regards to gameplay, to verify if anything did happen. For more information about the Report System, you can go here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules
