If The Babadook had a chance to become a DLC would you like it?
The Babadook is a 2014 Australian psychological horror about a Demonic spirit attached to a pop-up book tormenting a grieving mother and her son.
Unlike most horror films, the Babadook does not kill anyone but rather torments and persuades others to do its evil bidding as shown in the film which seems to attack those suffering from grief.
The Movie is also unique unlike classics such as Nightmare on Elm Street or Saw, because it mainly focuses on building suspense and developing the unnerving feeling of something bad is going to happen which causes genuine fear for the viewer not knowing when the scare is going to happen.
The Babadook is rarely seen in the film besides glances of him teasing the mother that he is coming for them until the near end of the film.
Babadook is a symbolism of Grief which explains the events of the movie because you can't get rid of it so you need to learn to live with it which explains the ending. This will fit perfectly in the game since the Entity is an emotional vampire which means feeds of strong emotions like fear, hate, hope, and including grief which is what the Babadook looks for in a victim which almost all survivors have guilt in them based on their lore.
Babadook is also stylish with a long clean black coat, slick top hat, long claw-like glove, and that giant sharp tooth grin giving him a unique look that differs from other killers in the game because it gives him a sort of gentleman look but he blends in the darkness which can make survivors lose track of him quite easily.
I can see a lot of powers and perks that the Devs can think of for this demonic force if given the time and patience based on how he acts in the movie since he can be a very unique killer because his power could be related to the pop-up book or how he uses the darkness for his advantage against survivors.
Also, Babadook when rearranged is "A Bad Book" which is a fun fact.
Typing this since it's a possibility he might come ingame because Devs had considered adding him in the game which is pretty cool since not a lot of people know about the movie The Babadook which is a very terrifying movie.

The Babadook is one of my favorite horror movies, so being able to play as the main man himself would be epic.

Babadook was a bit Overrated imo but I'd still enjoy it i think.
Now Hereditary was super Overrated and among some of my least favorite horror movies for how predictable, boring, and just not scary it was

Ooo nice turns out a lot of people like the idea of being in-game.

Literally all I know about the Babadook is this post and the meme where he was a gay icon, so yes.

I know more about the character from reading this than from watching the movie lol. I love your passion for the character, but there are many characters that I would rather see first.

Thanks, mate, and yeah that is very true since a lot of other characters have in-game. Just wanted to see if people would actually like him in-game because most DLCs are wanted characters and Babadook I have rarely seen as a wanted character even as a fan-made killer concept on youtube except few themes and a trailer which one of them is pretty good fan music for the Babadook which will link on the bottom.
Oddly enough Babadook was mentioned on a podcast a long time ago which they considered which I will link here it's near the end and its time stamped
Not many people mentioned Babadook as a wanted killer even though it's considered as a possible future DLC by the devs so wanted to make a poll to see if people would like to see him in-game and was kinda surprised that people would like him in it so guess this was an awesome success with a whopping 23 people.
Just felt like making this since I can wait a year for a Babadook DLC but have a feeling won't happen if at least a few people mention him from time to time. Babadook has the potential to be a great Killer for the game and bring more terror in the game if not left forgotten in his book.
Also learned a lot about him in theory and fact videos on youtube which is quite entertaining since it's like piecing together what The Babadook is and what he wants.
The top is fan-made unofficial music I found for Babadook on youtube but gets a bit loud at the near end so be sure to turn the volume down and feel like that's what his terror radius and chase music will be like ingame.
Bottom here is where Paul reviews Licenses Devs have considered which happens around 12:00 where you see Babadook listed in a podcast.
Still very happy quite a bit of people love The Babadook and would love to see him in the game so hoping his time will shine at some point even if its far in the future for our Top hat wearing spirit of grief.

You know what? After hearing the potential theme music and learning a bit more about him, I really would be excited about him coming to the game. He really is quite unique, and if done right could be one of the most interesting and fun to play characters.

Unpopular opinion: I didn't enjoy the film.
It wasn't as bad as fellow overrated horrors like Mama and Hereditary, but it still didn't hit the spot.

It would be pretty exciting and a unique killer since I would think he would take a stealthy and strategic approach so when he gets close he will just go all out on them for a killer ambush but that's just me.
also, 31 votes so guess lot people would like the Babadook in Game XD.
Last post anyway since been almost 9 days and seems most people that check the polls voted already so might as well leave this poll to rest.

Nah. Don't get me wrong, I wouldnt be so furious and angry that I quit the game, but it'd be a weird pick to me as The Babadook wasn't really about the monster (I mean, in a way it is). I think with how psychologically driven it was AND the lack of Babadooks actual presence would just make it a strange pick for me.
I wouldn't mind it though, it just doesn't come off as that kind of license to me, though I guess that isn't really a hit to it. Silent Hill was also psychologically driven and we have Pyramid Head, though I'd argue he has a way bigger presence in the series than the Babadook.

Not really. There’s a vast library of classic movie monsters I’d enjoy seeing added more so before any of the modern ones.

Never said that The Babadook had to come before other popular Killers so literally could be the last DBD DLC.
also Babadook is on BHVR watch list meaning potential DLC they consider to add ingame along with some classic killers.
