no ptb but a dlc directly tomorrow
resident evil is a console game before all so it would be good if the dlc is available without ptb directly

After the atrocity of Ghostface at the start of his ptb, I'd have to disagree.
27 -
Actually I'm going to disagree it seems like bhvr is actually listening to more of the community after the horror of the animations ptb and to test out the killer and power is something that should happen
1 -
DBD is a pc game before all so it would be good if the ptb is available to make sure the patch is actually stable.
22 -
Compromise: We add the PTB to Console, like OW and PUBG did.
5 -
I mean... they could launch the RE chapter directly. Without a previous PTB. They already did that in the past with the SAW chapter. Where console players had access first and pc players only were informed about the chapter from social media.
3 -
Console players are the majority worldwide tho,the best thing is to add z ptb on both platforms
1 -
I'll need a source for that, but even if true, it's meaningless. "Console" is not a single platform.
2 -
Horrible idea as issues of actual play are usually overlooked until players highlight them in ptb. Overestimated killer abilities have also been frequent thanks to the target balance of noob.
1 -
As a console player, I say no thank you. I'll happily wait for a few weeks to ensure that everything works as well as it possibly can. PC is definitely the best platform to test this out on.
9 -
Add sea of thieves and for honour to that list
3 -
It makes sense logically.
Steam has about 40K on average.
Even if the individual Console's have only sold 1/2 of the Steam figures, it's likely more players.
Plus, DBD is consistently in the "most popular" tab in Game Pass, eclipsing titles like Siege.
1 -
Also true.
1 -
You know that PTB is to test balance and to find glitches?
7 -
If we have DLC w/o PTB, we will have it on 15th June (Tuesday & close to real 5th anniversary date) instead of May 25th
0 -
Thanks for the comment, no.

Since it's probably be a huge DLC with multiple survivors (similar to Stranger Things), i rather wait and have a bug-free (well least amount of bugs possible) DLC than a rushed one, with huge bugs and/or balance issues.
0 -
I disagree, they should add PTB first if u don't want the rest of DLC full of bugs and bad result for new characters.
3 -
You can find the stats by yourself,pc community is way smaller than playstation or xbox community.
1 -
You're the one who made the claim, though, not me.
2 -
Youre the one questioning me though
0 -
I disagree. A PTB is necessary to test the stability of the patch before it is released onto live servers.
6 -
*laughs in twins and blight which literally didnt seem to change at all from ptb to live* they couldnt even give victor a locker holding animation in the 3 weeks time.
0 -
you are really saying the changes that blight got from ptb to live did nothing to him?
1 -
i a simple research on google can prove im right, not everything needs to be served at the table.
0 -
Burden or proof doesn't work like that. You make the claim, you provide evidence. Otherwise it just looks like you made it up, especially when you continuously refuse to provide any evidence and just say "do your own research".
3 -
thats it

It is more convenient for players to get a regular console than ook for a pc that can run this game properly. I'd be surprised if there would actually be more pc players.
0 -
so it would be good if the ptb is available to make sure the patch is actually stable.
*Getting Flashbacks of Twins release, the PS4 Power Point Presentation FPS patch or the DeSynch patch*
1 -
They can't. That's the issue. However, they can treat the first couple weeks like a PTB, and just fix all of the bugs after this period. The consoles allow bug fixes, so it shouldn't be an issue to do this.
0 -
And that's on Xbox, which I'm pretty sure is right in the middle, with more players than Switch, but less than PlayStation. And I know around 790 people on PlayStation that all have dbd. So yeah, console probably has more players.
0 -
Thanks for the source. From what I understand, the PS4 data is not the total number of active players (meaning, people who play regularly), but an estimate of everyone who has ever played DbD on PS4. On the other hand, the Steam data is the number of active players. Those two numbers will, naturally, be very different from one another and cannot be compared. That's why the PS4 data keeps increasing forever, for every game.

You don't need a PTB. I can tell what happens in the ptb:
- The killer seems d-tier, and after some months the killer is a-tier at least
- Killers cry because new survs perks are so op. And weeks later you don't see any of these perks
0 -
thats the active players,so as you see the majority are psn players
1 -
No, that's the number of players whose achievements are being tracked.
0 -
This could go very poorly
0 -
Silent Hill is a PlayStation exclusive, and it still got a PTB.
As a former console player, I completely get it, but I don't think it's a good idea to expect BHVR to abandon the PTB for any reason.
0 -
The PTB is great when they don’t ignore all the feedback, like All Kill. It’s baffling that they still have Main Event as a power you can’t hold onto.
2 -
True, didn’t double checked because im at work. That was my mistake but based on those and the other stats, you can see that theres more dbd console than pc players
1 -
Any different from the ptbs they push to live with like no changes? *coughing fit with twins*
1 -
Bug fixes are way more important than you think
Imagine if this chapter launches and we have a game breaking bug, I.E the ol PS4 4 fps optimization or basement hooks send you to the void again
0 -
The other stats are a cumulative "everyone who has ever played DbD" stat. It'd be like saying there are about 100 billion humans on the planet because that's about as many as have ever lived, completely disregarding that 90% of everyone who has ever lived is dead.
None of those stats are reliable or definitive.
0 -
Of course, but the achievement stats can give you a picture plus or less
0 -
So, drop a dlc without any widespread playtesting? How's that a good idea for a game like DbD? Half the playerbase would riot and all the newcomers would do an abrupt about-turn and go play Resident Evil elsewhere.
And if any console/windows store gamers want to complain about the lack of access to a PTB, please direct your rage to the greedy console developers who get rich by charging ludicrous prices for something the Devs don't even need to do because it's so much easier and cheaper to just release beta content via Steam, since its beta content and not an actual dlc.
2 -
I still miss some of the creepy sounds though. They could definitely Frankenstein them and make it his terror radius music.
0 -
Didn't the devs say the DLC would release in June?
0 -
I think there is a tweet about it. I'll edit to add it if I find it.
