Anybody else concerned about the abusability of the auto-ban bot?
I think that the auto-ban bot will not be a good idea. I believe that it should exist but it should not be allowed to punish. I think it will be too easy to abuse just like the one in League of Legends. My idea for it is that once you reach a certain number of reports, it should flag you to the support team. The bot should not be allowed to carry out punishment due to the abusability of the system.

Yes, holy cow. Worst thing I've heard about DBD since I started playing. The amount of salty killers I get as a survivor is crazy. I don't play killer as much but I'm actually going to be scared to play killer because then I'm dealing with, not one, not two, but FOUR people who could be mad enough to report.
I don't even play toxic at all, either, but it doesn't stop people from getting angry at the end sometimes.
I hope it won't be what I think it will be like but omg literally so worried that it will be AWFUL

i've been reported multiple times from survivors for no reason, one girl reported me because I didn't give her hatch (the swf she was in did it too) and If something like that happens again and I get autobanned well lets just say im not gonna be happy.

Yeah, I feel like they will falsely ban people and it will have an issue

i play killer a lot and i recently got to rank 1 after a long time of trying. But this is the scariest thing I've seen since the mori nerf.

all I think that the auto ban bot should do is mark people who are reported a decent amount over a short period of time then review them manually that way the workload of reading every single report is lowered but they still have some automation \
having a judge jury and executioner bot doesn't sound like the best idea

People are overreacting, I think. Let’s see how it works first. It could be that it takes 20 reports in 10 games or something to autoban. It’ll be tested before coming out, I’m sure.

They didn't divulge many details about how such a system would work. Let's hope BHVR takes a look at the quality of the player populace and makes it less player dependent.

in that case then it's 1 SWF and you're done. I think it should only flag people who are reported A LOT.

Yeah, I can already imagine being banned for being good at the game.
5 -
yeah, 1 toxic SWF and you're banned

Every time a Killer wins a game, it's another nail in their coffin, at one point the coffin fully nails shut, and the player gets a penalty ban.
You can't convince me that this isn't the way the system will actually be used. BHVR really shot themselves in the foot with this idea. Players should never be given the power to choose who gets banned. Players are spiteful, petty, entitled brats who want to make the game easier for themselves, so while the heart of the idea was in the right place... the actual utility of it will result in becoming the worst incentive to play Killer at all.

then just theorize a version that doesn't allow that
heres a theoretical
lets just say the threshold for the system is at 5 reports in a rolling 2 week period or 20 in a 3 month period, swf unless all 4 report the killer only counts as 1 grouped report, if all 4 players report it counts as 2 reports, once the threshold is reached the account is reviewed manually, if the manually reviewed account seems fine then the accounts that reported them are reviewed to make sure they are not abusing the system

Salt will break the bot

I'm more worried, why so many people are being put in jail on the damn forums recently. Like #########.
But, I am sure it will be abused.

THe worst idea ever.

I could see a lot of abuse of an auto ban feature

I have 49 pages of toxic comments on my steam profile. While i´m not a toxic player. Now when i imagine that those people could trigger the ban system just because they feel like it...
Yeah, thats a big NO for me.

I thought the exact same thing, horrible idea. Prepare to get banned for:
- playing an unpopular killer (good luck Spirit mains)
- camping
- teabagging
- being good
Behaviour can tell people that camping, tunnelling and teabagging are not bannable as many times as they want, people absolutely will get mass reported for this stuff.

I'm concerned, too, but we don't know how the system works yet. They might put measures in place to stop it from being abused -- like maybe if you report too many people it backfires and counts as a strike against you.

Can someone provide me with some information on how the autoban thingy is gonna work? Got no idea.
0 -
nobody knows yet and that's the scariest part

The most worrying part for me is that people will get raged and ban people for no reason. Like, don't get me wrong, as a survivor main camping and tunneling is a little bit annoying but people don't deserve being banned for it. Also what causes a ban? Cheating? But again no matter who you are let's be real, we know there will be some trolls and people who get triggered and camping and tunneling so they will attempt to ban them. I am mainly worried that people will be banned for no reason and there is no confirmation if what they did in the match was Cheating or Camping e.t.c. It's just crazy

I see. Thanks.

They might be bsing even, hoping that just the idea that you might be banned will make you not be a douche. Whatever it takes to drop the toxicity level would be nice imo.

Yup, I have never seen any game where an automatic ban system wasnt abusable.

It's going to end up abused. BHVR can say what they want about tunneling and camping and such not being banable, people will just report around that. Killer camped or Survivor teabagged? Just claim abusive endgame chat, instead.
The autoban system is abused even in Overwatch, a game created by Blizzard with a lot more resources and players. Not Hero switching over there is not reportable, yet Top500 players of Heroes like Torb have been banned on live stream due to reports for playing Torb in high ranked games. And they one-tricked Torb all the way to a Top500 placement, so they knew how to play the character effectively in such matches.
Teammates didn't like the hero choice, so reported and eventually banned. Yes, the ban got overturned eventually, but it was still a hassle.
It'll be the same fiasco here. Unless BHVR has the programmers and resources to do it far better than Blizzard did.

The amount of survivors complaining about tunneling is now scary. Even though it is a strategy and there are perks to counter it. Now you'll get banned for playing. How are wraith mains going to get any kills now lol
