Are survivors on console at a disadvantage?

After playing killer for a while, I feel like I've noticed that more often then not the "hard" survivors are on pc. Like, if I have a game with 4 console survivors, it's much easier to get a 4k then on, say, a game with 4 pc survivors.

Does anyone else notice this or is it some sort of "pc master race" placebo effect?

yes because they can't do the fancy 360 bull ######### pc players can

Generally speaking they just dont seem to loop as well. I dont know if it has to do with their hardware or if console players just tend to be less efficient at chases. In any case I can typically down a console player relatively faster.

Well I do admit I suck at looping, relying at los moves and Lithe mostly to save my bacon. I think the controller itself costs a surv at least one loop due to less right turning. It's also harder to look behind you easily, in either role. And that's without fps drops everywhere; there's currently a big ass thread about console optimization fun if you're interested.

Console doesn't impact survivor too much. The main thing that can cause and issue is frame drops.

Turning your camera in chase also takes longer to look back and turn back around which can lead to running into things or losing the killer sometimes, but not usually in my experience.

I think is mainly a culture thing, console players are generally more casual from what I've seen.

it's basically just the frame drops, but granted, those can happen if you have a bad PC as well, which many people do.

it's not all powergamers with nvidia rtx 42069's and amd loopdeloop processors with 69420gbs of ram, you know.

I play on ps4 and pc as well and I don't think I lose skills upon switching platforms :D Using controller on pc btw.

I can still do 360s but there is definitely a difference in performance. Even though my pc is not a strong one (just a medium gaming laptop) it still holds fps better and has less freezing.

The timing for skillchecks is different too (not because of the controller as I used ps4 controller on steam too).

Looking behind is harder with a controller to me so when I can't really do that I use sounds to guess where the killer is.

Oh btw sounds. Ps4 is not giving surround sound, my pc can. Not a big difference but sure helps when I pick spirit :P

I have no problems as survivor on console. I dont do fancy stuff, but you dont need it. I doesnt feel like i have a disadvantage and im the best player with crossplay on most of the time.

I would say it's "PC master race placebo effect" more than anything tbh.

I suppose that console has a lot more "casual" players because it was either free at one point (PS4) or it was/is on the Game Pass (Xbox).

Hardware and Optimization are definetely a problem too but not really for survivors.

This does not mean, that there aren't good console survivors out there though.I could imagine that some of them disabled crossplay because that's how you usually get harder games.

Also,i just never see a huge skill difference between platforms.I've seen great PC and Console survivors but even more that are rather bad/inexperienced.

They're exactly the same apart from not being able to do crazy unrealistic 360's.

No, console only affects killers and that's mainly due to the extra lag and sensitivity needed. But it's more common to see chill console players as the player base is huge. Then again I see many bad pc players too. Only issue I have with pc players is the latency... it's like crossplay makes it 100times worse

The only time I'm at a disadvantage is when I play solo and all the survivors are dive bombing hooks and dying so quickly I end up depipping while doing 3 gens.

All survivors are at a huge disadvantage. Killer is way too easy.

Killers don't have to look behind them or worry about hitboxes. Just look straight ahead and chase through a deadzone and win. If you are pay-to-win Leatherface your job is twice as easy.

The second I moved to PC and got mouse camera control I pretty much instantly got better at looping as its so much easier to track the killer.

As a rank one survivor on console, I don’t think it really makes a difference. At least on PS5, the only frame drops I have are doctor skill checks for some reason. It’s odd, as until recently, they didn’t do anything. I can imagine the PS4 will be struggling though.

I have destroyed PC Sweat With Friends groups before with my console Nurse. There's not much of a difference besides preference.

The only major disadvantage is lower gen consoles struggle with the game's high demand.

The one thing we all can def agree on is that potatoes grow on all platforms! :)

Nope, the only hard moment as console survivor is turning camera behind you if you have low sens, but on new gen consoles we havent FPS issues so is the same as PC.

Killers are different, for example, I play better deathslinger on console, but Nurse is a pain. Oni is really easy for me on Xbox but on PC I get stuck on every loop xD.

Agreed! Just a shame console players are cant get as many advantages as pc, but that will never change

Yes. Console players are limited to 60 or less FPS. I believe some of their keybinds can be awkward e.g. when trying to heal someone on a pallet, they might accidentally put the pallet down. Mouse is more accurate than an analog stick is. Console players are more limited when it comes to sensitivity (although I think it improved?). PC players can play at low settings which allows for better visibility.

Now I'm unsure about this but perhaps it's also more awkward to look behind you whilst in a chase on console? I know when I'm in a chase, I'm looking behind me 90% of the time. It's easy to do on PC once you have map knowledge.

Ive only ever played console, but in a game that requires split second decision making, fps is crucial. Also, graphic controls are a big thing.

I do think a really good console player, when switching to PC would become an even better player performance wise. There really isnt anything to preclude a console survivor from being great but i do think pc has options to make it a little easier.

I’m on console and the only thing that gets me upset is when I try to heal someone or disarm a trap between a pallet i need to stand in a pixel perfect direction to it until the right action appears. otherwise I just throw the pallet.

PC is the superior machine. We also have customization options Console doesn't have like, Lowering graphical settings for increased performance and easy visuals.

Lag on the other hand effects everyone.

You can change It on button mapping at the options menu, I set It at Cross on Xbox, Square on PS and Zero problems

I'd say it's all just the same. There are good survivors and killers on PC, as well as trash ones, and the same applies to consoles. The only thing is that someone playing on PC will have the advantage over someone playing on console because of way better performances and smoother controls. In fact, the more they improve the graphics, the more those playing on console suffer frame drops. Last time I played killer it felt like my frames were below zero. If you play on the same platform though (PC killer vs PC survs, console killer vs console survs), there is hardly ever any difference, when comparing the two.
