Stop saying killers are tunneling/camping you because of the Pride Charm.
Camping/tunneling is a strategy and has been done for a long time. Just because a charm is in the game doesn't mean you can blame killers for camping you because of the charm. People are using this as an excuse to attack killers for playing the game.
The only time you can say the killer tunneled you because of the charm is if the killer said something about it in the chat and criticized you. You cant start doing that, it's going to ruin the game for everyone
I have been wearing the charm and my games haven't changed, I get tunneled and I don't blame it on the charm. I say "Hmmm maybe the killer is playing the game and not doing it because of my charm"

Well sexual preferences didn't need to brought into the game. While I personally dont care how people identify as honestly everyone is the same in my eyes things like this is bound to happen. False accusations as well hate, just the way the world works.
Afterall it's just a game, just play it for what it is and have fun...
31 -
Have people really been doing that? Or is this a very small but vocal minority that are being given disproportionate attention?
Maybe it's just a server thing, on AU it's very easy to tell the homophobes because they outright attack you. Not that I've seen any since the charm was released, of either the accusations or the homophobes.
Edit: to clarify, I'm meaning the people tossing around false accusations of homophobia.

I just knew this charm would cause ridiculous amounts of drama. People on all sides of this just have to wait a hot minute until it gets boring and no one cares anymore. In DBD time, that should be about 4 days.

I have seen posts here about killers tunneling because of the charm, so I thought I would address it. Heres one, https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/253278/pride-charm-getting-camped#latest
4 -
I've seen more posts about false accusations than false accusations.
13 -
It's common. I'm straight and have been attacked by gay players because I'm using the charm etc. Apparently I dont have the right...
Nowadays it seems people always want a way to either play a victim or be seen as better... I dont get why everyone cant just get on and enjoy a game regardless of real life genders, sexuality, race etc. Main reason I didn't support the idea, not because I dont support those people as I do but the issues that come with it seem alot and unneeded. People want to be proud I get it, but you can be proud without making it all about that and that's what some players are now doing as well as those targeting those players. Both are few but it all adds up in the end.
12 -
Dude, I'm gay, and feel free to wear the charm. The rainbow isn't gay property and no one has the right to dictate how you dress your lil' character.
But don't mistake a small handful of Woke SJW's of being any kind of authority. It sucks for the rest of us, but there is an extremist, vocal minority around these issues. Usually, they have never experienced any real oppression their whole lives, yet they feel the need to police everyone else. I immigrated from Russia. It's not good to be gay there, and yet I'm far more chill than some of the little militant twats here in Canada who grew up with wealthy, supportive parents in a gloriously free country.
Wear whatever you want. I think it's great if you like to signal you're cool with human differences. Don't worry about people who live for the Oppression Olympics.
28 -
Oh trust me I'm well aware that there are always a bad bunch no matter the community and you cant judge others because of the select few, so dont worry about that lol. Sorry about your past btw but dont worry I'll rock what charms and cosmetics I see fit XD
4 -
No need to be sorry (but thanks), I'm living the dream over here lol . People should take a step back sometimes and just see the humour in things.
We're all dramatic over a teensy rainbow charm in an online game where my chain-smoking grandpa tries to survive a chainsaw wielding simpleton wearing the skin of someone's mother.

People are allowed to have complicated feelings about a form of discrimination they've been dealing with their whole lives. What I've mostly seen on the forums is people expressing concern that they'll be treated badly if they wear the pride flag in-game -- which, IMO, is reasonable, since this community's pretty homophobic despite all the LGBT players.
In-game, if someone treats you badly, it's hard to tell why. Which is also often the case in life -- you're left saying, "Did they do that because I'm part of a minority group, or did they do it for another reason?" and you can't ever actually know, and it's very uncomfortable.
I don't think it's fair to say "You have to believe it wasn't discriminatory unless you can absolutely prove it was" because the nature of the problem is that you usually can't prove it absolutely.
Honestly, the healthiest thing would be if we all wore the flag charm all month so no one was singled out, but I doubt that's going to happen.
1 -
Unless it's stated in chat, that's hard to prove. Camping is a choice and tunneling is just efficient. Personally my screen is not large enough to really see charms, mostly just roughly shaped dots on a Survivor.
3 -
Yes, tunneling, camping and slugging are not reportable on their own; an individual game of it isn't really enough to say for sure.
HOWEVER, if the player says in post game it was because of the charm, that is reportable. Or, if you queue up with them several times, and they repeatedly target you in the same fashion, that could be reportable.
Bannable offenses include griefing, hateful speech, repeated harassment, and more. If you are REPEATEDLY being harassed by a player over the course of several matches, that could potentially be punishable. These things have always been a part of the Game Rules, its not just about the charm. To review the Game Rules, you can see them here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules
And one more thing: everyone is welcome to wear and enjoy the charm in support of the LGBTQIA2+ community!
15 -
I’ve seen more people being nice to each other about their pride charms than I have any hate, personally. It’s been nice to see actually. A few people have commented positively post-game about it; I wish I’d remembered to screen cap them for proof because it’s always heart warming to see stuff like that.
7 -
Love to hear that 🏳️🌈
2 -
“Oppression Olympics.”
I like that one. Gave me a slight giggle.
6 -
That acronym gets longer every day. Case in point, It's actually LGBTQIA2S+ now.
4 -
Nobody* is going to complain if you just say LGBT. I do it all the time.
*Yes, a very small number of people will complain, the same way you're complaining about the length of the acronym. Can't please everyone.
8 -
You don't really need to say the whole thing. LGBTQ or LGBT+ is fine. Or at least untill a better more efficient acronym comes along.
1 -
I love how I posted 2 very clear sentences and somehow you managed to find me saying "I hate how long the acronym is!!" in there.
4 -
I found you complaining about the length of the acronym because that's literally what you were doing.
The words "homophobic" and "homophobe" are nowhere in my comment, yet somehow you assume that because I didn't immediately and explicitly agree with you (for the record, I didn't disagree either, I just gave you some advice), I'm accusing you of being a homophobe. Incredible.
FYI, you can have gay friends and still be homophobic, the same way you can be gay and be homophobic (just look at all the closet cases in the news). Furthermore, because nobody accused you of being a homophobe, you have no reason to try to "prove" you're not.
5 -
I'm sorry I didn't mean to talk down to you in anyway. I was just saying that you don't necessarily need to say the full acronym especially because I know how tiresome it can be to say the full thing.
1 -
Thanks for telling me what I was thinking and feeling. You clearly know me better than I do based off a forum post that you totally didn't misread.
5 -
The problem is going to be who it differentiates from the false accusations to the actual true harassment. BHVR is going to have their hands full. Even if it's based on an algorithm determining reports. The spiteful folks who had a bad day. And reports. The claims of hate against the community. The actual reports that are true. The ones playing the game as intended charm or not. It is a small item on a digital character. But it's a large dealing on consequences, on the actions of the player themselves. Because the end result will be a ban. As the answer. Whether they're guilty or not.
0 -
Isn't that exactly what you did when you said I was calling you a homophobe, even though that word is nowhere to be found in the comment you quoted?
3 -
Oh brother. This isn't remotely worth minutes of my day. Good luck with your anger bud. I'm out.
4 -
No anger here, just massive confusion as to why you got so hostile when I literally just tried to give you advice to help with the issue of the acronym's length.
6 -
These false claims of getting called homophobic tend to get really problematic in these discussions. Orion really just gave his take on the acronym stuff and nothing more…
3 -
Yeah, I'm still not sure what I did wrong.
4 -
I knew this was gonna happen as soon as they released those charms. Honesty though charms shouldn't be visible to killers just other survivors imo. Some charms are to bright to be immersed with them.
0 -
Just to remind everyone, no one is banned in game without evidence. If you are playing within the rules (which I posted in here earlier), you will not have to worry. And I know many are concerned about the new automated report system, and we will have more on that at a later time.
5 -
Are killers going to get banned if they say they tunneled Jane because she's fat or Feng because she has coronavirus? Seems kind of silly. Killers should be able to kill players for whatever reasons they like.
4 -
I'm actually interested on how many there actually is because of the
+at the end. And... what are the new ones? I noticed thatIA2Shas been added, pretty cool to see more diversity! 😁2 -
Jane isn't fat, she's Thiccccc 🤤
4 -
Pretty sure that this can be a reason for banning.
saying Feng has corona because she is Chinese seems pretty racist to me at least…
6 -
This ^
Legit I've seen so many cases of people harassing the chinese because of the whole covid 19 going on, that qualifies as harassment, whether in game or not, you're asking for trouble.
Saying stupid stuff is your own choice and most likely, you're gonna pay for it.
3 -
Can we not make a thread attacking people for being concerned about homophobia/transphobia in a game when it was already common before the charm? Literally nobody is saying the killer is doing it because they have the charm based on nothing else, but it’s pretty clear when they’re being called the f word in the endgame chat.
Stop trying to make LGBTQ+ people the villains in this situation
4 -
How does this comment have any vote ups? It’s literally saying racism is fine, and that killers can do whatever they want.
2 -
Are killers going to get banned if they say they tunneled...Feng because she has coronavirus?
I could very realistically see someone getting banned for this one.
1 -
People who play killer can start tunneling people just because they don't wear these charms also. And we have an auto ban system coming..it's going to be a mess isn't it 😀
3 -
Racism is not cool, but just saying there seems to be a bit of selective outrage. Multitudes of kids have been making toxic, racist, and threatening comments in the after-game chat for years. That's where the real problematic harassment is. There are probably hundreds (maybe thousands) of threads here in this forum about it with people begging Behavior to do something. Did DBD make a Twitter post warning people not to be toxic in chat or face a ban? If no, why not? Just an example of the double standard that seems to decry harassment by some but gives others a free pass.

Let me see if i can get it right.
Lesbian
Gay
Bi
Transgender
Questioning? (i feel like i have heard people say that)
Intersex???
Asexual???
2 people???
Straight??????
I legit don't even know. The first 4 make sense, but the rest i don't know. It feels a little silly to me that everyone feels like that have to label everyone into a category when that really isn't how life or humans work. But whatever.
2 -
Q stands for Queer and 2S belongs together I think, something like 2 Souls?
the rest should be right
0 -
Lesbian
Gay
Bisexual
Transgender
Queer or questioning (depends on who you ask)
Intersex
Asexual
2 Spirit (taken from indigenous views on gender and sexuality, can't really explain it cause I don't know a lot about it)
And the plus includes Demisexual, pansexual, nonbinary, gender queer, and other lesser know gender and sexual identities.
1 -
Nobody is making the LGBTQ+ community the villains here, there are so many posts that say killers are tunneling and camping them because of the charm. I am addressing that and telling people to stop doing that.
I didn't even bring up the LGBTQ+ community in my post, I was saying people were doing it in general
0 -
Lol why is he even tunneling me oh right HES HOMOPHOBIC!!
1 -
there are so many posts that say killers are tunneling and camping them because of the charm.
I see a lot more threads like yours, though. And the other threads can be taken more seriously (in the sense that they have more supporting evidence) because of the reactions during the devs' stream, along with social media and the post-game chat.
3 -
Yeah, it has been happening to me as well, twice, people have been saying that I have been camping them because of the pride charm, which is false, I only camp if all gens are done and I have nothing else to do in the match.
0 -
I made a post saying this would be a thing the day the devs said killers could get banned for tunneling or camping survivors with the pride charm. So.......
I told you so 😁
0 -
"At a later time" wasn't a good enough answer then, and it's not now. You can NOT use the words "automated ban" and "automated report" and then not tell us the base outline of what you have in mind. It's actually kind of insane and cringe that you think it's okay to even mention such a system and not elaborate.
Me and a lot of the people in the LGBTQ community are afraid to be reported because of our preferences, pronouns etc. And you're going to neglect actually putting our minds at ease so close to pride month? Shame on you, really.

Are you not part of the LGBT community? I thought I saw you post something awhile ago about having a bf or I might be mistaking you for someone else. If I am, I apologize.
