Degrading your own teammates

So, I usually see some salty chat at the endgame on PC - directed at the killer by my teammates, but recently I’ve been in lobbies where I will get insulted for the littlest thing by my own team. For example, I just played a match against a Doc where we got 3-gen’d extra hard. After the loss I expected a normal chat but apparently when there were 4 gens left I missed a flashlight save (got the killer blind, just too early for a drop) and that means I get to be absolutely demolished in the chat for it. I wasn’t even aware that they could be mad about that when it didn’t lead directly to our loss like the 3-gen situation did. Got called a loser with no life, an ass, absolute trash, and a lot of things that were censored so I don’t really know what all was said. Two teammates were talking like that so yeah i’m assuming SWF or just rude people.

Anyone else experiencing extra salty teammates on PC ? Can’t wait for the reports to insta ban at a certain point, because no one wants to play with toxic virgins who can’t take a loss in a casual party game.

I used to get salty messages from teammates on PS4. It's one of the reasons I turned off messages. Sorry I didn't attempt that basement save during the EGC when the killer had NOED and was camping your ass, I didn't think my Jeff with his three original perks would be much help. Crying out loud.

Yes, many times. This is one of two reasons why I play with closed chat and very rarely open it.

the only time i will ever yell at my teammates is if they're hiding the entire match and escape via hatch with a key, otherwise i will either keep my mouth shut or offer tips

    I've gotten those messages too.

You got caught by a camping Bubba in the basement. You were dead the minute Bubba caught you down there, you just didn't realize it and I'm not killing myself to rescue your corpse :D

When I got to postgame earlier the two that escaped were already shouting at each other over some minor thing. "How dare you give me advice when you brought spine chill" was said

I can honestly say I haven't seen another survivor hate on my gameplay in a couple years but when I play killer it seems like every few matches I get a salty endgame message berating my playstyle and telling me I'm bad for slugging with alot of gens left

it, at the very least, makes more sense for survivors to blame their teammates than it does to rage at the killer for... y'know... doing their job and winning. so props to those guys for being at least one brain cell more aware than the typical online video game garbage.

but it's still just that. garbage.

Yeah, I don't get this. I've had people tell me to 'go back to fortnite" because I didn't go for a baseement save when all 3 survivors were hooked in the basement against a camping Freddy (back before BT got it's boost) and instead just sat on a generator. I've also had nice messages, but the rude ones stand out.

this is why I have messages turned off when playing DBD because of people like that.

Had a Dwight refuse to heal me after I healed him with all gens done one on hook and the rest of us injured, when he went down almost immediately trying to get the rescue and the other person got slugged I just opened the gate and left because I was still injured and on death hook. In the post game he was so salty and bitter about it I just told him, "if you had returned the heal I would have helped rescue but I'm on death hook and injured, what do you want me to do?" His swf buddy said I could have helped but the other random who was the one slugged sided with me and said it was smarter of me to leave then feed the killer a 4k given my circumstances.

    I... hate this so much.

The fact that 1v1 is even a thing in this game proves that survivors can generally take on the killer with a single teammate and have a decent chance to succeed if they're skilled enough.

One survivor making one mistake absolutely doesn't lose survivors the game. Even saying that that's the case implies such a feeble grasp of how survivor even functions on the basic level that I can barely conjure up a method to describe it.

Just... don't listen to those people. They are actually not worth listening to.

I get these a lot because I tend to leave early when someone I don't see any reason to stay.

Such as; a person on death hook is being carried to a hook, because I know how close they are together I conclude that this would be pointless, so I leave early to avoid last minute death and Bloodwarden. Y'know, something kind of smart if you think about it

I get yelled at a lot, I find it funny that someone gets mad I used basic self preservation skills.

Sure I have it coming, but at least you know why I survive so many Endgame builds.

I've gotten a few rude comments from my teammates, still never yet once from a killer.

The comments are always about my playstyle, because I enjoy, and prefer, playing this game in a stealthy or "immersive" manner. I get objectives done, I help out my team, I just have a lot more fun being unseen by the killer while doing so, if I can help it. Here on the forum plenty of killer mains have scolded me for this, some going so far as to say that I shouldn't do it because they (the killers) find it boring and that "chasing is the most important part of this game", but I never hear that from killers online.

I do, however, hear "great job just hiding all match Mike", or "hey thanks for letting me do all the gen-rushing while you were just sneaking around unhooking people", etc.

Interestingly I've had a good number of matches lately where I and only one other survivor are left and (with the help of my aura perks) it would seem that despite "not playing the game" I'm the only guy who still tries to make progress will the other person camps the hatch until I die. So I guess some survivors only hate my playstyle until it enables them, ironically, to do nothing.

I had a teammate throw the match the other day because somebody threw shack pallet.... call us all morons. Funny thing was we were against nurse who doesn’t even care about pallets.
