NEW REPORT SYSTEM COMING. PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW HOW TO NOT LOSE THEIR ACCOUNTS. PLS HELP.

  1. DC-ing from matches (I play a lot so, yeah it happens) - can I eventually get banned for too many?
  2. Things killers would think are toxic in game. (Tea bagging, Flashlight clicking, Bodyblocking to wiggle team mates free, Head On stunning OVER & OVER, Headon to DS combo-ing, Long loops... etc.) Sometimes I do all of these things in 1 match, so I do it a lot. Its kinda just part of the fun and my survivor playstyle. Its not trolling, its just how I play, but I feel like a lot of angry killers might report and say i'm trolling them.
  3. I see a ton of hashtags in the after-match chat lol. I'm never attempting to hurt anyones feelings or anything like that, I just get censored every time I try to talk about a match lol. I know its an adult horror game, BUT would I actually get a ban for using too much censored words?
  4. I realize its an adult game. 18+ correct? So I tend to use some silly 18+ steam names while I play for the jokes and fun times. Nothing offensive. But, I've realized some sensitive souls might actually, perhaps, report my username. Is that something that is bannable?
  5. Reporting another player in game 'JUST IN CASE'. People report people JUST IN CASE they're cheating (THEY JUST DO). Some people just seem a little TOO good, if ya know what I mean (sometimes something just feels off). But, chances are they probably are just a really good player. Some newer players aren't going to know how a lot of perks work, and they might report you for hacking cause they don't know that you can Dead-Hard through a killers body and escape lol. A LOT OF NEW players might report you for body blocking the killer to get team mates to wiggle free, because they don't know that this is a gameplay strategy.... EVENTUALLY those reports WILL stack up 100%, especially if you play a lot. SO, we're not going to just be banning people that play a LOT are we? Can you get banned for reporting tooo many players that weren't really breaking any rules?

I would honestly hope that none of this stuff would actually cause anyone to lose an account, but I wouldn't know. I just feel like people do report people with no evidence, and if the reports stack up and someone gets banned for 'TOO MANY REPORTS' of something that they didn't even know was a reportable offense... then thats just absolutely unfortunate & not cool. I almost want to stop purchasing cosmetics and stuff, cause I genuinely feel like I could lose my account, just because I play so often... and eventually random reports WILL stack up.

if you're talking about the automatic ban system mentioned, I'm pretty sure they were referring to one match getting reported by multiple people, if not, either way you're freaking about way too much about a system that was vaguely mentioned.

You can get reported for rage quiting yes, have I ever seen someone banned because of it, no. 2nd one is a no, 3rd is no unless it's discrimination and your using racial slurs or something of that sort. 4th depends on the severity of the name but either way it seems immature just based on how you put it. 5th will never get you banned, I've gotten reported countless times because people accused me of lag switching back when it was peer-to-peer and I had ass internet, never once got banned. You won't get banned because someone reported you "just in case,"

I was just imagining this situation... where if you finally get 'X' number of reports for a specific topic, then EAC just auto bans you. Then i'd imagine going and asking the devs why you're banned, and then they'd say something along the lines of "We don't know what EAC does" and then you're account is just long gone. But anyway, I'd assume EAC only bans players that are actually cheating, like some 3rd party software going on or something, and not based on player flags.

Imagine seeing a message when you log on saying 'You've been banned for DCing too many times'. LOL, now this would actually be silly now that I think about it... because the DC penalty exists to punish people for this exact reason. People already are banned from DCING constantly, for 'X' amount of time. Yeah, a perma dc ban actually would be silly. You never know what they'll decide to implement tho.

Just to give you my two cents. From what I gathered, the auto BAN system is rather an auto FLAG system which marks an account with a high number of reports for inspection by the people that are giving out bans right now. It is simply a tool to make their life easier and not an automated banning system itself. The most reasonable explanation atm is like often bad communication from the devs with the community.

okay this makes sense. I just assumed this was how it already works I guess XD But yeah, they should def add this.

Actually, from what you're describing with your gameplay you sound like toxic person with no regard for your opponents, especially trying to lock people into stun loops and abuse perks, so I wouldn't be surprised if you get flagged similar to a serial insidious facecamper that likes to kebab people. What that means for you I don't know, and to be honest I don't care. So just to be sure, maybe put yourself in your opponents shoes in case the Devs actually decide to do something about people with mountainous reports.

    1. There is already a system in place where you get timed out and it keeps stacking the more you DC.
    2. You can't get banned for those things you listed, as you can see here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules
    3. I highly suggest you to maybe not use possible rule breaking words. If you are not, then you have nothing to worry about.
    4. Names relate to the platform you play on, so if you have a Steam rule breaking name and you get reported to Steam, Steam might take action, but it does not relate to us generally.

For the fifth point, I'm answering it like this. We don't know what the auto-ban system has in store yet, it has not been announced properly aside from the stream announcement - speculating on what it might or might not do; I can see why, but it can also mean a lot of possible stress for users for something that might be completely different than expected.

I can reassure you however though, you won't be banned for playing the games within the game rules, even with a auto-ban system in place. Just stick to the game rules and you'll be fine, there is nothing you have to be afraid of then. It doesn't matter which kind of system we might we have in the future, if you don't break game rules, you won't get banned. If you break the game rules, you will be banned.

Also to clear something up: Please don't report for disconnects. They get timed out. There is no need to report them.

Honestly, eventually after many years of playing... The "toxic" playstyle is just the fun way to play survivor at this point. Especially after hundreds of toxic killers that resort to face camping and tunneling.... I guess I better just start streaming everything, in case I do get a ban somehow at least i'd have evidence of me just playing the game as intended.

God this is so true. If the otherside is winning at all, you'd probably feel like they're toxic XD

Exactly this. People get frustrated when they perceive they are losing. Caling someone toxic is a coping mechanism.

Of course remembering it's just a video game tends not to cross people's minds. Go figure.

Totally don't agree with this philosophy. "I'm bored playing the game regularly, so instead of moving on and playing a different game, I'll just fill the checklist of actions that I know will bother everyone else".

    That sucks.
