I just realized that half of the BPs we're spending is being wasted.

Member Posts: 715

We can all agree that the grind perks right now is bad and in the future will probably get worse if BHVR does not address it in any way.

I just realized it now that half of Blood Points we're spending on Killers are getting wasted.

Take Ghost face for an example, there is zero reasons to get/want/use other perks except for his Cooldown Add Ons. Last time it was just Rat Liver on Demo but now it's Barb's Glasses and Black Heart but the rest... Lobro Chains and Junkyard Air Filter are the only thing most of us want from Billy.

My question is Why are we forced to buy crap we don't want? Perks already grindy enough but realizing that half of BPs we are spending are going down the drain and stuff we buy are just collecting dust. Why force us to buy this crap?

WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA. Speed limiter bubba is the #########, especially with his Iri addon that refreshes charges.

The Hillbilly speed limiter should work like Lopro Chains.

It is actually bizarre how the DBD team hasn't done something about the grind, even something simple like removing perks tiers would cause everybody to collectively rejoice.

Surely making all perks tier three couldn't be that hard, time consuming sure, but not difficult.

Oh so you must have seen my 200 brown tool kits ? And the useless key & map add on a I will never use ... oh and we have more add ons and perks so

โ€œTake Ghost face for an example, there is zero reasons to get/want/use other perks except for his Cooldown Add Onsโ€

This is 100% subjective to each individual player. The unwillingness to broaden the breadth of play styles and strategies available to each killer via their add ons falls down to a lack of imagination and inventiveness of the player, not a failing of the add ons themselves.

I see it time and time again.

    โ€œBlah blah is rubbish.โ€

    โ€Blah blah is uselessโ€

Except many donโ€™t use an add on (or perk) with genuine intention. Many donโ€™t adjust they way they play to milk the advantage a given add on (or perk) provides.

Just because it's useless to you doesn't mean it's useless to everyone. Each player has their own playstyle.

I am quite new to the game and am currently trying to "build up" my killers. I just unlocked 8 perks for all the killers and for Pyramide Head, which I actually like to play, I don't get a single perk from other killers. For Demogorgon I only have devour hope so far. Deathslinger also has no other killer perk. I only get the standard perks in blood web, which for me, are mostly useless.

And then you have to compete against players who have 10x more experience. Would be no problem for me, if the perks at least fairness would prevail.

Yes, I am quite late to the party, after 5 years, but still I can not keep up with four standard perks against players with 1000 hours and all meta-perks.

I'm gonna add to this trend and also mention that it seems like whenever you work the grind around so the entity gets a perk that you don't want the perk just reappears over and over again. I've spinned several levels of my blood web trying to get corrupt intervention on clown but it never shows up. Now, perks like shadowborn, huntress lullaby and fire up seem to never stop coming. The RNG is really [bad word] up and it would really help a lot if it could recognize that you don't wanna get a certain item.

Yeah running out of scratched mirrors when you have 70 of the brown hair addons is so annoying.

  • Member Posts: 5,279

    Only half?

  • Member Posts: 4,233

Way more than that if you play killer, I have all perks on everyone and I'm not joking the amount of addons iv stacked across killers that will never be used because they're terrible and meme like is unreal. Got 1000s of useless addons on each killer.

Survivor isn't so bad though worst addon for survivor toolbox removes skillchecks lol, killer always get the worst of it though.

Remember when party streamers were common tier? I member.

Also triple the amount of stage offerings and such. It's not as bad as it used to be.

i'm sorry but when it comes to ghostface there is a massive difference between having your power every 30 seconds vs every 16 seconds. no other add-ons can compensate for that massive difference and while I'm all for the spirit of trying out different things, you're both wrong here.

...Unless you rely on marking survivors instead of having no TR. And for those players, the add-ons you think are so great are actually useless, because they don't rely on getting rid of the TR.

See, this is the problem: you refuse to even consider that other playstyles are just as valid as yours.

You have your own playstyle, and that's fine, but don't imply it's the best/only way to play. Can you imagine if all perks and add-ons were geared toward a single playstyle that wasn't your own?

Because if you could buy what you want why wouldโ€™nt I just run flask of bleach and thick cork stopper every match?

  • Member Posts: 4,458

Half? I'd put it at 75%. I only use very specific Add-on(s) given the utter worthlessness of the others by comparison. More to the point, I've also got all these stupid, worthless Mori now too. ;)

I will agree there are obviously "the best addons" that youd rather run over any other addons. For instance demo since his rework barbs glasses and black heart. They are way better than demos other addons in pure value. But i wouldn't say that makes other addons useless depending on how you play. For instance the one where you don't have to use your power to get killer instinct from portals. And increase detection range. Goes great with perks like ruin. It really depends on how you play. There are some addons the devs really need to address because they are pretty much useless in every case. (Chainsaw cools quicker when flashlighted and haemmorhage addons) but id say most addons are good in some cases depending on playstyle.

I said useless by comparison. :) Bear in mind that the way the grind works (as I'm sure you know) I get the better ones in equal measure to the ones that suffer so much by comparison. I suppose if I ever ran out of the ones that work best, I'd use those, but I NEVER do. :) Ideally, all Add-on(s) should be distinct and good enough that deciding which to run is a tough call. Right now there is no internal debate whatsoever.

I was thinking of maybe buffing all Add Ons on the level of Barb Glasses and Black Heart for Demo. In short, buff add ons where every thing is wanted.

  • Member Posts: 11,535

Thing is some will always be the best. Why bring any other add on that improves the tonic when flask of bleach exists?

Same goes for top knot on oni or alchemist ring on blight

  • Member Posts: 827

No, do you want 4 of them every game or I'm guessing you don't play killer right?

  • Member Posts: 271

Because perks shouldnt just be easily grabbed on, it wouldnt be fair. Imagine at level 20 you have 1-2 full pages worth of perks and your new to the game. that doesnt seem right. Also just deal with it and be patient youll get the perk sometime-

    *5 million BP+ later*

Oh nice, I finally got the perk I wanted at tier 1!

  • Member Posts: 715

you'll need atleast 150K BPs to get the perk to tier 2 and tier 3. That is to say RNG doesn't cuck you and decide to let it spawn in the next two bloodweb.
