How do you counter the deathslinger?

Its really hard to avoid being hit by the deathslinger once he's spamming his super quick ads. Does anyone know how do I avoid that? And is it actually counter-able?

    Really the only thing you can do is put obstacles between him and yourself, it's pretty boring but there really isn't much else you can do.

    You just have to guess when he is going to shoot. Most inexperienced slingers will shoot instantly after an ads so try use that

    Well using the corners and obstacles are the best way to counter DeathSlinger. If he does not have a clear shot area he cant shot you or many Deathslinger will hesitate to shot unless he is really a good one and know every little trick and object where he can shoot. You can counter Deathslinger but with his small terror radius+ Monitor & Abuse it is harder at most cases because he will have a really small terror radius which is enough for catching you suprisingly. Like I mentioned use corners,walls and obstacles to avoid his shots and at the open dont run straight lines and do the unexpected movements so that he cant guess.

    Predict where he will shoot and dodge accordingly. Try to block LOS as much as possible and don't feel bad to throw some pallets early especially filler pallets. Hug main buildings. Learn which loops he can and can't drag you around, he can't drag you around many but he'll try to get an efficient shot over a pallet and then drag you. Find the perfect balance between dodging potential shots and actually reaching pallets. Be unpredictable on your movement. He has plenty of counters but sometimes it feels like you can't do much especially if you get unlucky map RNG. Never use windows in LOS.

    Just rule number 1 though about versing him: Just because he lifted the gun doesn't mean he will shoot. DO NOT overzone yourself.

    He is a strong 1vs1 killer, he doesn't have much counterplay. The best thing you can do is confuse it with the zig-zag.

    Huntress and Deathslinger have broken hitboxes. So you just can hope they miss attacks.

    Most Deathslingers are rather terrible shots that rely purely on survivors mindgaming themselves, so if you just gently feather left and right at random, rapid intervals you both barely slow yourself down and jerk about quite a bit on the killers screen thanks to latency. Mix that in with literally always calling the killers bluff (if it's a good Slinger, they'll hit you whether or not you take the pallet or window, and a bad one will mostly only hit you if you fake it) and you've got a killer that's actually more counterable than nurse by virtue of mostly being terrible shots because of all the free hits survivors give them.

    Other than trying to break LoS as much as possible you literally just randomly wiggle throughout the entire chase guessing when he's gonna shoot and then hope he misses.

    This is why people find him very boring to face. He'll win the 1v1 but lose the game, boring for everyone.

    Out in the open, just wiggle a little bit at irregular intervals. That alone makes it very risky for the Slinger to shoot. You don't have to wiggle all the time, sometimes wiggle, then mix it up moving straight, then a bit diagonally, a little wiggle, and you'll see they'll avoid shooting you. The idea is to lose the least amount of distance possible, although being out in the open is really and against him.

    On medium and long loops with high walls, you can 100% predict when he's more likely to shoot. Usually Slingers will try to get you before you make a corner, but you'll have to mix it up since it depends on the player. There's a mindgame where they will try to predict whether you're gonna continue on a straight line or try to dodge. You have to be very mindful of your distance to the Slinger and your positioning in a tile. Sometimes he HAS to go for a shot or he will waste too much time, and you can use those times to mess with his reads.

    Also you can be a lot riskier when you're uninjured but when you're injured you should be safe with pallets.

    Ultimately there is no 100% guaranteed counter to him, because the killer's skill matters a lot. Your job against him is to make it as hard as possible for him to land his shots.
