Should Billy's death engravings be base?
I'm just curious what people think
Because this addon is probably his best addon now.

Just because an add-on is good doesn't mean it should be base. Add-ons are meant to be used. Now if Billy was unplayable without the add-on then it may make sense to have that add-on added to basekit in the same way that Demo and Wraith was buffed, however, Billy is quite strong right now and I just don't feel that he needs anything added to his base kit personally.

Nah, I think base-kit Billy should be left alone (not saying we need overheat changed tho). Speed can be problematic if you're on Lery's, or if you're running steering add-ons.
Sometimes I might be in the mood for Flick Billy, or sometimes I'm in the mood for base-kit Billy, or maybe I might feel like playing drift Billy, 4.4m/s Billy, M1lly if I feel like memeing, or even braindead Billy (Speed Limiter).
Man, there are so many Billies.

In a certain way yes but probably not the one you think.
In my opinion, current overheat should be rebalanced into also an overclock mechanic. Meaning once you hit certain thresholds (50%, 75%) you begin to get bonuses like faster charge, faster mm speed, more CD reduction all together since to use a saw at that state risks you getting overheated and going on a massive CD.
That would imo be the best way to balance current billy.

Other than removing overheat, this is definitely the best possible way to make Billy enjoyable to play as, other than fixing those scuffed animations of his.

They should just revert Patch 4.1.2 and do a new pass on his addons to have more fun ones. More turn speed addons. More charge time options. More silent Billy addons.

No more changes to my boi, he's suffered enough!

Tough subject, giving Billy an engraving to his base kit.
He could honestly use more steering by default. BHVR loves to add a bunch of trash/garbage on the map and billy could honestly use some more steering to avoid those... If anything, he could use dad's boots as base kit, but slightly instead of moderately.
On top of this, all trees that been reworked, actually be reworked with proper hitboxes so they don't share the same size as my house would be an EXCELLENT addition. The engravings could have the charge penalty removed or slightly reduced honestly...
but like Glitchboi said, too much speed can be problematic.
I can't wait to play Billy on the new Resident Evil map.... It's gonna be so much fun /s

As nice as engravings are, I would not want the charge time penalty without better charge reduction addons. The tuned carb is terrible.

In my opinion, what Billy truly needs is his overheat mechanic gone. Reduced to atoms. And perhaps another add-on pass, because some of them are tied to this horrible mechanic.
Nerfing Dead by Daylight's most balanced killer was one of the worst decisions I've ever seen. The only "OP" thing about Old Billy was insta-saw, and even that can be debatable.

Patch 4.1.2 was bad.
The addons they gave him are mostly bad with a few new interesting ones. Did we forget the original mothers helpers increased movement speed with a flashlight shined on him. They’re still in need of attention:
Agreed, remove the heat dissipation addons. Increase to four turn speed addons. Three charge time. Three engravings. A better big buckle option that actually works with his power.
Fewer penalties for bringing addons.

Agreed. Charge time might be a little bit dangerous because of old insta-saw, but we can worry about that later. The most important thing to do is revert his nerf.
It is the right thing to do. It is the only logical thing to do.

I would sign for that in a heart beat, as long as the extra overheat penalty was reduced accordingly. Engravings never needed a double downside which was shadow added with the heat mechanic. There was already the slower charge speed.
One engraving is pretty much mandatory to have a chance to curve competent survivors.
However, I could understand if other people wouldn't like the change, due to the slow charge.
In alternative, I would be content if engravings were simply made lower rarity instead to brown and yellow. I doubt they'd be popular anyway, but my oh my I'd run doubles every game. Brrrrrrr!

Just how players are asking for reduced heat from revving, charge time addons could have increased heat from revving. It’d prevent snowballing with the saw too.
I think they should remain in the game at percentages 12% or lower. It won’t be like before with 40% reduction but would give Billy players back a reasonable crack billy option again.
I also think a third Engravings could be added with very rare value with the yellow movement speed buff but no charge time drawback. Replace pighouse gloves.

I think that is a really interesting idea, i like it a lot!

Okay, when people make topics like this -- please explain what the add-ons do. Cause all of us haven't memorized the 400 some add-ons do. Yeah, it's easy to look things up, but it'd be nice.
I'd say no, though. They should, however, give him slightly increased turn rate. I think that'd help him and make him more fun to play.

I really like that! I prefer that as base kit and engravins in add ons as it is now.
