After all this time, Lightweight is still a really good perk.

Started using this perk more again lately just freshen to things up. I’ve been using it with Fixated so I can keep track of how long scratch marks remain.

And I was reminded at how effective Lightweight can be in juking the killer. Provided the killer isn’t right on top of you, have some distance, and some LoS blockers, Lightweight can help a great deal in shaking off the killer. It’s very satisfying watching from a hiding spot my already fading scratch marks, and I see the killer start doubling back not sure where I’ve went.

5 years, and still a really good perk.

Lightweight seems very good on indoor maps especially when you can make a lot of distance

I feel like Iron Will is objectively better at helping you lose the Killer if you have lots of distance and LOS blockers, which you can usually get with the speed boost from being hit.

There's a reason its so popular

I completely agree with OP. I like running Lightweight on survivors while going through the prestiges.

I have to admit though, there's a lot of irony if we copy pasta this for other starter perks like NOED. Five years, still a good perk.

I have tried it recently but It didn't seem to make much of an impact on my survival. Maybe I'm using it wrong.

Like I said, if the killer is up your butt, then Lightweight won’t help. But if you’ve got a bit of distance (never wait till the killer is on top of you before starting to run), and making sure you’re periodically walking to break up the scratch marks, how quickly they fade can throw the killer off.

I do like using it with fixated as well. It works ok.

Still think it wouldn’t be too much of a buff if Lightweight got the extra effect of reducing noise of footsteps and maybe even environmental noises like grass moving etc.

A couple years back on stream Horvath teased maybe buffing it so it made footsteps silent. That buff never made it in, I would have liked it for stealth builds. On certain maps like swamp a blind at a pallet is a free hit for me as killer as its so easy to track footsteps.

Right now I don't really like it compared to perks like Dance With Me or Lucky Break.

I'd use it for a random perk build or a meme build but otherwise there's just so many other better perks to use imo.

What do you mean there are other good perks besides Meta? Could it be that Survivor has good perks and people just ignore them? Could it be that the skill gap is so big that players only rely on the strongest survivor perks? Could it be there's too manny perks with similar functions so whatever ends up on the stronger just eclipses the previous perks? Nah, what we need isn't better players so the Meta changes and there's more diversity, what we need is to Buff SoloQ and that will solve everything, what we need is stronger Survivor perks that hand hold bad players even more like the upcoming CounterForce and Resurgence and Bite the Bullet, on top of all the other perks that already carry bad Survivor.

I mean, of course Lucky Break & Dance With Me supersede Lightweight (DWM is way more useful as a stand-alone perk than is fairly given credit for), but for generic base perk, Lightweight is pretty damn good.

I guess its one of those perks where theres a version that is objectively better but more situational. Sort of like how desperate measures with 4 injured survivors supercedes Botany Knowledge, but Botany Knowledge is always active in any situation and also has the med kit bonus.

Typical post I’d expect from a killer main similar to “self care is a really good perk guys keep running it fellow survivors”

    lol

By all means, maintain your delusion that I’m just a killer main. I’m sure inventing narratives of others is perfectly healthy for your mental health.

I've always liked that perk too. Fits my playstyle of running all the time and goes well with iron will. Underrated perk, most people dont even try it.

Its a bit in a weird spot, since its good for stealth, but requires you to run. So it fits neither the stealth player nor the looper. And it drops off at highranks, where its all about genrushing anyways and the killers are good at tracking.

It could need a little buff, maybe silent footsteps while running. Or not triggering traps from trapper, hag, freddy etc while running.

I've never really ran Lightweight so my opinion may not be entirely accurate. I think that Lightweight is only useful when running it with other perks that affect scratch marks and sounds. But it can definitely be helpful.

I've been using Lightweight with Fixated and I noticed that the scratch marks don't fade away as they normally do when I play killer but instead just disappear suddenly. I do play on Switch but scratch marks seem to work normally when playing killer. Is this a bug or a Switch only problem?

Lightweight is a terrible perk. Any decent killer will still be able to track you, even with distance. Once you've gained some distance, you're better off just leading scratch marks in one direction, then walking in the opposite. Not worth a perk slot at all. Especially when perks such as Dance with me and Lucky break exist.

Most good killers don't even need to rely on scratch marks to find you and keep up.

Same here. I tried it many times after the release of DBD, it's a trash perk to be honest, not worth a perk slot.

Instead DEVs should create a perk that spreads the scratchmarks further away - the opossite of "Predator" perk, that would be much more useful.
