Why is there no cross-platform chat?

It seems weird to me that when they developed the consoles versions of dbd they didn't include the after-game chat. I know it would be hard for console players to type in it but it's weird that they can't even see it. Does anyone know why they didn't include it?

It leads to salty survivors that whine about perks like NOED. So it's better that way so we don't get any angry comments on cross-platform chat in the game.

I really wish that there was. I don't understand why people are complaining that people would complain in end game chat like... Duh. That what people do, to discuss the game good or bad, it's not fair that the majority of players can't communicate with people cross platform and people on switch can communicate at all.

I'm not entirely sure if this would even be a possibility.

Xbox and Playstation use their own messaging services and I'm pretty sure Switch doesn't even have a text messaging system. I suppose games on those platforms could still have in-game chat systems, but it's extremely rare because of how inconvenient typing out messages is on a controller. Like, I literally cannot think of any console game besides Minecraft which still has built-in text chat.

Either way, I'm not convinced that cross-platform chat is a particularly important feature in DbD. I'd rather the Devs focused on other things (like optimization or cross-progression) to improve the console experience instead of giving us the opportunity to exchange salt with our PC bros.

Pretty sure the reason was the devs thought it would take too long to write messages on console, so they decided it was pointless to implement.

I think it would be good, send a quick gg to pc and Xbox users then leave.

I think it would be better then to just have an option to choose certain responses like "GG" or "GJ Meg, you rat".

Because if people respond to me other than GG it's usually a gripe, then I usually end up talking a lot of head... and I type fast. I'll send out a paragraph of ######### and say "Later" before they can type their next message. That would probably be more frustrating.

To everyone who says Console players can't type fast (wrong)

we have keyboards too, you know!

Honestly don't know why people hate the idea of it so much. I understand the toxicity concern, but it's still possible to hide chat if you don't want to see it. It isn't fair that PC gets so much favoritism, the least we can get is an end game chat (which, mind you, can be toggled off). At the very least it's what we deserve for our constant time and money playing the game, basic communication.
